Very surprised at these Little tacos that were loaded with tasty meat. Loved the chili verde! The salsa for the chips were frigging surprisingly hot and delish! And great prices for downtown Campbell. If El Guapo entered a taco competition with Chacho’s hands down El Gruapo would win! Who are the owners? Looking forward to returning for happy hour

I’ve been going to El Guapo’s since it was called«Slice», which was a.long.time.ago. The one thing I’ve loved about this place(or these places, if you will) is that the staff was always super friendly, pleasant, and we know the owner, Sam. Today, I’ve decided to review this place solely because of a gentleman called«Morgan» working up at the cash counter. I’ve not known a ruder and obnoxious young fella such as this«Morgan». Please get rid of him, El Guapo, or you will lose some loyal patrons. The food as always is great, the skinny margaritas awesome, bartenders fabulous, except for Morgan, who obviously felt like he could talk down and be dismissive for no reason. Such unpleasant people belong in the back of a restaurant, not up front and center.

OMG I miss you all!!! I don’t know if you remember me, but I always go there with my girlfriend and friends on Taco Tuesdays and get the same order — 8 carne asadas and sangariaritas or beergaritas. I recently moved to Germany, can you guys make your way over here for Taco Tuesdays, because the taco game here is weak. I bought one of your tees to sport while I was over here. Btw, that salsa/chili bar you have is on point. Hope the entire crew is doing well. Also please let the bartender that looks like James Deen( ) know he’s on point with the bar service. From Germany, with Love — Prost! — Dennis

Good food for the fashionistas but don’t bring an appetite. First off, it’s counter service and the overhead menus are poorly done and difficult to read. I ordered the chile verde and went to sit at the bar. No draft beer. When I asked what the beer selection was, the bartender pointed to a shelf about 20 feet away. Apparently he didn’t even know. They offered about ten pilsners and an IPA. Thanks for the selection. They called my name and I picked up my chile verde and went back to the bar. The pork was tasty but not very tender and it wasn’t cooked in the verde sauce. The sauce was a rather creamy, bright green and ladled on afterward. It wasn’t bad by any means — but it wasn’t like any chile verde I’ve had. The rice was a little undercooked but otherwise good. The pinto beans were quite good — whole and not refried. The corn tortillas tasted like the average store-bought tortillas. Overall, the flavor was good and I was happy with it except for one thing — the portion was so small, I went to get dinner after I left. For me, the great thing about Mexican food is that it is HEARTY. This was a child’s serving. I’m not a large person and for that kind of money($ 14) I want to leave satisfied. I easily could have eaten two. I’m not sure when it became fashionable to leave your guests hungry but El Guapo’s is certainly haute couture. Eat before you visit.

This place is great! its good for watching games and weekend day fun. The food has never let me down(usually nachos or tacos kind of girl) and a chavela is hard to find but they got em! They have a full bar and a wide rang of drink specialties. I especially like the openness of the restaurant and outdoor patio with heaters. It can get a bit crowded and loud but its the kind of place i go to on a friday night when i want to feel like I’m out without having to dress up or go clubbing.

Great food! Strong drinks! Always busy and a fun environment! Could possibly live off the nachos and chile verde burrito bowls! Always a good time and a Downtown Campbell must go!

Came here after taking my final of which we didnt know if we passed. We were famished and wanted some tacos. Our friend took us here and i was kinda turned off by the glitz and glam. I was afraid the burritos would taste very american. Boy, was i wrong!!! I ordered a carnitas burrito, no beans with everything else. It said 8 $ on the menu but it came out to 10 $. Maybe because i said yes to the avocado? Plus tax? I didnt question because i was so hungry. They have a large array of sauces and salsa and pickled things. I opted to try out all the salsa. My favorite was the orange sauce. The red chunky one was pretty sweet, and the verde was just alright. The burrito was sooooooo good. Its a little pricy but so worth it! They definitely stuffed that burrito well. It also comes with complimentary chips! I really want to come back during their happy hour and try their tacos.

For a self service restaurant it’s really all I could ask for. Flavor wise, the tacos, nachos, and tostadas have all been delicious. I recommend the creamy white salsa with either the shrimp or baja fish tacos, it’s a really good spice. The place changed my idea on micheladas, I was not a fan of tomato mixed with alcohol until I tried a taste of my boyfriend’s drink. My go to drink at this point will be the sangria-rita, but I definitely recommend the Pink Taco Margarita, that is one sweet and pink drink.

Strong frozen margaritas guaranteed to get you buzzed! The food was pretty good. We shared a couple tacos and a nachos plate. This place is always crowded and lively on the weekends. It can get loud and be difficult to order a drink at times but I think you’re gonna have to get used to it.

Omg, YUM. I’m so happy to have found a place that does vegetarian Mexican! Not just bean and cheese, their food has actual vegetables in the vegetarian burrito(what a concept!). Plus they have a very nice variety of sauces, so you can either keep it mild or leave your mouth with a pleasant burn :) We split the Santiago nachos, which were HUGE, and we were full. They were delicious, real cheese, nice pico– highly recommend! The minus star is for the place itself. Being a college joint, this place is crazy noisy and busy all the time. But food is yum!

The food is outstanding, but the service is hit and miss. Sometimes friendly, sometimes cold and bordering on rude. Mostly a miss on my 3 visits here. It’s also crazy loud here, even on a Sunday afternoon. Try to get a seat outside if you want to have a conversation without raising your voice to speak. If you order food and drinks from a cashier, the process isn’t clear and may not be explained(it wasn’t for me). If you order a non-alcoholic drink that they can make at the register, wait for them to give it to you before you leave, even if they hand you a pager and say«we’ll page you when it’s ready». The pager is for your food only. If you order a drink that has to be prepared at the bar, see that spot at the end of the bar where the wait staff gets drinks from? Tag, you’re it. You’ll have to go there yourself to retrieve your drink when it’s ready. And you won’t be told when it’s ready, it will just get dropped off there by a bartender and the rest is up to you. When your pager does go off, bring it back to the cashier area and either one of the cashiers or someone standing near the cashiers will help you. I never did figure out of the workers standing there are bussers, security, or both. Maybe depends on the time of day you go. I wish it was better organized here, and that there was some notice absorbing material in the dining room to bring the noise level down. That may not be enough to make the loud, drunk guys in Tapout shirts tolerable(yes, it’s that kinda place), but it’s a start.

They do have best nachos. That’s all I get here. I ordered the ½ with chicken and that was a lot. I couldn’t finish it. Can’t wait to try something else.

Pretty good happy hour menu. Ordered the shredded chicken nachos with everything on it and house margaritas. Decent food for the price.

I keep coming back here for Taco Tuesday and their swirled margaritas with sangria. I’m not a huge fan of their food, however their drinks and their bartenders are absolutely delicious. My friends keep swearing that I’m not ordering the right food, so I keep trying, but I find that none of it is really worth«writing home» about. Go for the drinks and the good times with friends. Don’t expect much out of the food.

I will start off with the things I did like: huge cups that came ice cold with your alcoholic beverage and the awesome art and décor everywhere! I came here on taco Tuesday so the tacos were cheap! Happy hour was also from 6-close which is also a definitely plus. I personally thought the tacos were alright. The reason why I say this is because the meat was pretty bland it could’ve been a seasoned a bit more. This place is definitely a good place to kick back with some friends and straight up just drank and eat up all the food. The décor is definitely pleasant to the eye I loved their gold and red ceiling so beautiful! I had a sangria today. I am typical a sweet tooth so the sweet was lacking in their sangria but I stilled enjoyed their sangria. Other than that it was an overall okay experience.

Cool joint to have happy hour. I recommend the zippers margarita. Food — soy-rizo street tacos are the shit! The specialty nachos are good for sharing. Staff — attitude problem at the cashier station. Bartenders are Ok, they keep trying to up sell their drinks and aren’t mindful of cutting the surly people off so the place can get rowdy. Décor — chill brotastic. Lots of neon colors with luchador masks. Crowd — tapout shirts and short skirts. ‘Nuff said.

Stopped coming here when I found a hair in my nachos. I’m already paranoid about people touching my food, so that was a big f*****g let down.

El Guapo’s is a pretty chill spot when it comes to getting together with friends to watch a game and enjoy a drink. That’s exactly what I did with my friend. We ordered the regular size nachos with carne asada, and I honestly thought they were pretty bomb! Been here before, but this time it seemed like they hooked it up with the guac. Decent sized portion too, but not enough if you’re on an empty stomach(don’t share otherwise :) Also ordered El Jefe and a beergarita. Not too pricey, especially since the drinks are large and strong. I think both were about $ 13 each, but well crafted. It does get crowded and there is limited seating. Not a fan of their bathroom system(one stall). Lastly, park at the first street garage and avoid a headache. It’s downtown Campbell people! :)

I’ve never really tried their food. I usually come for the alcohol. Cheap alcohol = the key to my heart. Chavelas, micheladas, coronaritas, shots, everything! They have happy hour on weekends too! Limited with seating and space, but it’s a bar, what do you expect? Good music, cool mixed crowd. They close their patio around 11:30pm though and they close at midnight. After you leave El Guapo’s, you can make your way down to The Spot to continue drinking the night away!

So I can only comment on so much here but bear with me. This place is really great for drinks! I had one of their sangria-ita’s and it totally got me more then tipsy. And it was delicious! My boyfriend had a beerarita and he like that as well. What is really cool is during happy hour you buy one get one for three dollars! How awesome is that? And you don’t have to buy them both at the same time, you can buy one, keep your receipt and as long as you buy your other one with in the happy hour. And show them your receipt you can can get the second for three dollars still! For their food, we only had tacos but they were all really good! We will be back to try more. The restaurant itself is not the largest, there is limited seating, and the place is kind of sticky and dirty. But I guess that’s what you get when you have really good drinks for not too bad of a price. I really like their outdoor area in the front and it’s deceiving because they have a back door in the back that open but they don’t have any seating in the back. The staff are okay. They just seem overworked. I hope I’ll be back!
