If I could be known for one thing on Unilocal it would useful reviews. No background story, no bogged-down opinions — just straight from the reviewer’s mouth. So here it is: Good pizza, decent service, nice healthy alternatives and good atmosphere. Pizza is on the good side, has some vegan(yes vegan) options. Stromboli and some other lunch/dinner choices that are good. Nice mixed green salads. Atmosphere is modern with a cool laid-back approach and some outside seating. This is good for a casual lunch or late night deal if you want a pizza with a mixed green salad — healthy and junk food all in the same mouth.

The 3 stars is for over-all. Pizza itself is a solid 4 — if you like basic pizza… which I do… and if you like it to be thin-sliced… which I also do. Service is negligible… I think the staff(especially at night) would way prefe to be next door in the Cardif… but guess what guys, you’re not, so just focus on the customers you do have. It can be a captive audience at night(given that it’s next door to a bar) and that may make for why the place doesn’t focus on value. The slices are pricey for what you get… but where are you going to go for pizza at that time of night? At the very least you’d have to drive to Slice of New York on Stevens Creek… and they use cheap ingredients(IMHO). So, all in all, I take Slice for what it is. Good, though not-cheap, thin-crust pizza that fits the bill on a night out in Campbell.

Slice is the Robert Horry of Pizza Joints. The Late game /Late night heroics has come up clutch time after time. Especially nights when I rushed to the bar like prohibition was re-constituted, effective in the next hour, and I neglect nourishing my body with the sustenance that most folks in this God forsaken land refer to as, «food.» And God forsaken paints a lucid image of the way an empty stomach feels with nothing but the suds of a mixture of barley and hops washing around in it. I’d rather back-pedal naked into a corn field! Just kidding, but not really. The pizza slices are of the thin crust variety and the sauce, crust, cheese, and pepperoni have an 80% compatibility rating once released into your mandible. [sorry about the reference, but that’s all I could come up with]. I hate Robert Horry.

I give it a 3 star. Food was ok. Service was ok. Atmosphere was ok. I do like the fact that it is a small place, kind of sort of a hip vibe and open air. They have an outdoor sidewalk patio which is a nice place to relax and have a glass of wine.

There is a strong posabillty that because I was a little«tipsy»(ok i was drunk) I may need to try and review once more. However based on what I think I remember it was pretty damn good. The location is great, right in the middle of all the bars. The girls and I had our happy hour which led into the night and so of course since we drank our dinner earlier we needed some grub. We stumbled over and I ordered the meat lovers pizza or something like that. it’s the meat one. VERY tasty. =) I love me some MEAT! Prices are reasonable and pizza is a’ight. It was perfect for our drunken bonding night.

Good –Trendy, upscale atmosphere(which is good considering it’s about the size of a renovated garage) –Delicious gourmet pizzas with beautiful presentation –There are cucumbers in the water! –The interesting dessert pizza(featuring fruit, marshmallows, and nutella) is at least worth a try. Bad –Slow service –The big TV was playing an extremely bloody boxing match the entire time(I guess it was a little entertaining though)

Horrible service. Bus boy got my drink(who-the-?*!? puts cucumbers in the water?) while it took forever for a server to get to my table(even though the bus boy pointed me out-twice). There were two servers for about 8 tables. two whole tables had to leave before i was even greeted. Decent pizza; although i probably will not come here again. Where a burnt pizza crust is quite«New York» i can do without. I love the location and the quaint stylings. Kudos to the marketing/decorating team for throwing together a «hip» feel to what would be a great pizza place… if they got some better servers.

Was walking by with the girlfriend the other day and decided to check it out. Too bad, so sad. First off, you cannot get a «slice» at Slice. What *they* call a slice is half of a personal-sized pizza. Trying the basic cheese pizza was a disappointment. The pizza was bland and tasteless. The service was okay — but not great. We walked out of there not all that poorer for the experience, but there are a number of other pizza places nearby(within a mile or so) that are better destinations. Pizza My Heart at Camera 7, for example, actually sells … slices!

I’ve been here three times and this place has definitely gone downhill. The food is the same, excellent pizza for a decent price. But the environment and service is pretty poor. On my third time there I went on a Friday night around 8pm with my fiancée. You’d expect the place to be fairly busy by then, the rest of Campbell is. Nope. Completely empty. Scary empty. The what-am-I-missing empty. We were there for almost an hour and not one other customer came in. The décor is pretty harsh. Black tables, white and silver chairs and sparse decorations. And kinda dark. Not inviting or warm for a pizza place at night. Our waitress was very young and inexperienced. Her shift ended at 9pm, so when 9pm rolled around, she brought us our check. We hadn’t even received our food yet! Then she had the audacity to come back to our table and ask for payment again. We told her we wouldn’t pay until we received our food. She seemed confused/angry and left us alone after that. Our second waiter was better. He took the check back, thankfully realizing it was a bad idea in the first place. The pizza was awesome, as usual :) The part of our experience that made it unbearable was some wannabe gangster hanging out by the register area. He was talking with the staff REALLY loudly about how awesome he was, etc. Apparently no one there realized how unprofessional and annoying it is to have your conversation drowned out by thug-speak. This place has awesome food and could really be a great restaurant. But for now it’s reserved for takeout.

Being from New York I’d admit that I have a specific notion of what good pizza is and this place impressed me… but in a different way. I recognize Pizza Hut, Dominoes, Round Table and etc as a kissing cousin of «real» pizza. The fare Slice serves is what I consider specialty craft pizza. Fresh ingredients, interesting flavors, more innovative perspectives on a classic medium. I liked it! Pizza tasted like it was made super fresh and the dessert pizza I had was not blasphemous to me at all! I believe it was a marshmallow strawberry topping pizza. For ordering 2 pizza, it was like $ 20 something, so I consider that totally reasonable. I was full, I was happy and I dig this place.

We stopped here for a snack with the pooch during the Farmer’s Market. They were pretty dead, only about 2 other tables of people. Even so, service was slow. We shared a slice of cheese pizza. The crust was soggy, and the sauce didn’t taste like much. It seems to me that if they changed it up a little, maybe doing a NY-style slice shop, business might be better.(Obviously, taste would need to improve too.) They’re basically aiming to serve the same product as La Pizzeria down the street. Unfortunately, for them, La Pizzeria is putting out a superior product, and they’re always packed! This place doesn’t seem to be doing very well. I can see why, but I still hate to see small businesses in downtown Campbell fail. It’s my ‘hood, and I really like to see new and interesting businesses thrive. I really hope they’ll improve, and get some business.

What is the one thing you crave late night after a full evening of boozing and dancing? Pizza! Slice is the perfect sort of establishment to have next door to a busy lounge like The Cardiff. There is plenty of outdoor dining for the summer nights and smokers. The pizza is tasty. If you are really hungry, you can eat the whole thing yourself, but I recommed sharing with a buddy. The salads are HUGE!

Visited Mika and Claire for Monday Night Football. Perfect spot in Campbell for pizza and beer at this uncrowded restaurant. Sometimes I get irratiable at crowded sports bars. I respect other people’s opinions, but it really annoys me when drunk people share too much information and start ego wars. Anyways, I ordered the Meat Lover pizza which was about the size of a vinyl record(12″). I would have to say that’s it a reasonable size because of the fact that pizza has so much calories(dayam mozelleralla chesse and meat toppings). The crust was crunchy on the outside and fairly moist inside. The meat toppings of sausage and beef was generous giving this slight New York style pizza a standing four stars. Facilities was very clean and supported by the friendly staff. Thanks J.D. for your hospitality and beer recommends. Claire finally showed up and she grilled me with my «responsibilities». EXCITED! She wasn’t hungry so we decided to take the rest of our Monday evening next door to Cardiff Lounge. Was Patio Seating cool? Yes, you can see the big HDTV from the patio. Recommended beer to go with your pizza: Boddingtons Pub Ale

Do NOT come here if you are looking for an authentic, pizza-by-the-slice joint. You will be disappointed. Slice is a conundrum, wrapped in an enigma, wrapped in false advertisement. I was starving and went into Slice one afternoon before I got my hair cut. I was stoked that there was an establishment called Slice, as I love pie by the slice. Not enough little pizza joints around here serving up foldable, chewy, pizza by the slice. I walked into the place, expecting a nice old fashioned counter with whole pies from which you can pick a slice, and they’ll heat it up. They, um, don’t have slices here. I’m confused. I mean c’mon! Your name is Slice. Why no slices? Why is it a half pizza, with the only options being cheese or pepperoni? Shenanigans! The pie was OK, but too foo-foo for me. I like thin, old school pizza. This was yuppie pie. Tasted just like Willow Street, and the crust was crappy. Bummer, because the crust is what makes a pie. Service was crappy, too. They really couldn’t get me out of there quick enough. Slice sucks. I’m headed to Sal’s – no yuppies. EDIT – apparently now you can get any pizza by the«slice».(I just can’t bring myself to call them slices, thus the quotes.) Someone affiliated with the place informed me of this via Unilocal mail. Even still, not my kinda place… it’s just wrong.

I came here really wanting to like this place. The menu sounded great — though it didn’t have enough interesting vegetarian options. My server couldn’t be friendlier and more professional. Plus, I was able to sit outside on a comfortably warm night. The first disappointment was that only one salad was available of the four listed on the menu. I expected great things from my pizza margherita(described on the menu as buffalo mozzarella, basil, and tomato sauce). The crust was floppy, bordering on soggy, instead of crisp. I saw a lot of small pieces of basil, but the flavor of it just wasn’t there. All in all it really just tasted slightly above average.

Small place, nice people, good food. Young ambience, patio seating in nice weather. Each person in our party had something different and we each loved the food. Mine was most mundane, and it was okay too. Best of all, they are open until 2 a.m. and serve food then too. There is a wine and beer bar. Nice place.

Four reasons why Slice is lame. 1. They’re called«Slice» but don’t even serve pizza by the slice… 2. The huge metallic garage door left to grace the front of the building during the daytime is a nice touch…(yeah right) 3. It’s obvious that the owner of the bar next door, «The Cardiff», is only trying to make a few extra bucks by catching some spillover from the bar. 4. You can usually tell how great a restaurant is going be just by counting how many people are inside. I walk by this place every day and I don’t even think I’ve seen more than 2 people in there at a time.

This place looks and feels more like a Banana Republic than a pizza place. When I went in, on their opening weekend, they didn’t sell pizza by the slice. The place is called SLICE for fucks sake. What’s more, it didn’t smell like pizza. They have since remedied these problems. However, when a friend of mine went in the guy there convinced him to buy a small pizza instead, claiming it was a better deal. In retrospect the friend suggested that he felt pressured. So: no slices at slice, and when they finally start selling them, they try to up-sell you. The furniture is minimal and modern, but poorly executed and looks more like IKEA cliché. The menu is not on a board, but printed, and features prices in whole dollar amounts like fancy restaurants. As in, «Small mediocre pizza I wish I hadn’t tried… seven» — — — — - Update: 6⁄29 — As some very nice fellow pointed out in a private message to me, they sell slices now. That’s good. My review dates back to their opening day, and is completely factual. So now they sell slices. I retract my previous statement. To the very sweet gentleman who pointed this out to me: go make passionate, gentle love to yourself. And, by the way, no, I don’t work at another pizza place down the street nor am I trying to skew the numbers: I have a big-boy job, and slice just sucks.

Slice Slice Slice. Mmm, mmm, mmm… When I found this place I was hoping to try the Twist Café right across the street, but they closed at 3PM. How lame. Starving and not knowing where to eat my friend and I spotted this place across the street right next to the Cardiff Lounge. I couldn’t tell if this place was a restaurant where you sit down and order or more of a fast food place. But after the cute young teenager handed us the menus we sat down. The décor was simple but cute, especially for a pizza place. Black tables, with plastic(plastic but nice!) white chairs and basic paintings it felt like more of an upscale pizza place. Besides the slice of zucchini they put in my friends water the food was fantastic! Prices are decent for what you get. I ordered a salad and my friend got a slice of pepperoni. I swear the thing was half the size of a small pizza! She said it was great, and let me tell you, I got the first salad listed on the menu and it was AMAZING. It was very unique with the ingredients so I could see how some people might not have a taste for it, but they also have basic salads. The salad was sweet but tangy at the same time. Mmmm… I want another one just thinking about it! Our server seemed really bored since we were the only ones there, but I guess that made for great service because he made sure we were taken care of and was extremely polite. This place isn’t your traditional restaurant, and definitely not your traditional pizza place, but it sure is good. I saw take out boxes so I’m hoping that means they do take out too, it’s too good to pass up!
