I bring my family here frequently, because it’s the closest Mexican restaurant to my house. The food is great, but we are often frustrated with the service… Not to any fault if waiter/waitress. We tend to come right after the kids get home from school(roughly 4pm), but they only schedule 1 waiter/waitress to take care of the entire restaurant. Help arrives at 5pm, but it’s a very frustrating hour of painfully slow service. PLEASESCHEDULESOMEHELPEARLIERINTHEEVENING. The servers can only do so much when they are on their own.

Terrible service and terrible food. Will not be returning. The waitress could barely speak english and ignored us and messed up our order and told us that we were wrong.

This food sucks, I have been there once recently and had a takeout order. It was bland, and soggy when I picked it up. If you have never eaten authentic Mexican food this might taste only taste remotely bad. Plz just go to La Fogata, or even a good taco truck.

This is not a good Mexican restaurant. I got fish tacos and they were extremely bland. The fish was not fresh. We waited a while for our food, and there were not very many The waitress we had was also very short with us, even after we told her our food was not good. It was not very good customer service. It is upsetting that we spend our hard-earned money on crap like this. It’s safe to say my wife and I won’t eat here again.

Great food. Best Mexican food on east side. Pork mango salsa tacos were awesome! Best chicken quesadilla I have ever had! It was good enough to come back and get again!

Delicious food. Fun, colorful atmosphere. It’s a place we can take the kids, and also enjoy some really awesome food and drink. One of our favorites in the area.

Wow, what a gorgeous day! My father and I decided to go out for lunch. We originally headed over to check out Dim Sum Luck food truck, but when we got there, the windows were closed and lights were off. Bummer. Chipotle was the next pick, but the line was too stinking long, and was moving at a phase for my likings. Ta da! We picked Las Margaritas across the parking lot — passing it so many times, we might as well. Bright colors, lively décor. The whole Mexican-American look. They have a nice patio area, and since the weather has been iffy, we decided to take advantage of it before it’s gone :) We ordered off the lunch menu: Pollo Loco Tacos and Pork Tacos with Pineapple Salsa. We each traded one, and we’re both glad we got to try each dish. The tacos were really moist! The chicken(pollo) is marinated in a sauce before cooked. The cucumber/sour cream sauce drizzled over that taco was a great addition. The pork(in the other taco) was also super moist! I mean, I was prepping for dryness, and it was so far from. The pineapple hunks and salsa juice was just right. I was very pleased with this lunch, because I was seeing myself up for mediocre. For $ 6.99 the entrees come with rice and refried beans. Filling! A great last-minute decision.

This review is relative to Cinco de Mayo. For being a Mexican restaurant, they were woefully under prepared to handle the influx of people destined to appear. The hostesses had a hard time keeping track of the seat list. They defaulted to using red solo cups for drinks. The kitchen service was slower than usual.

The atmosphere was average. The food was the same as other average Mexican restaurants in central Ohio. The staff seemed uneven. Three ladies standing at the front while one lady served seven tables. While not a horrible experience, we will not be returning. I would recommend anyone reading this to consider that it would be worth the extra ten minutes to drive to the other side of Pickerington and eat at La Fogata Gril.

I’ve been here twice and have yet to actually eat here. The first time we were seated on the patio and no one came out at all for 20 minutes. Before we could order the waitress said, «oh, I’ll get you some waters» and then left again for about 10 minutes. We just left. The second time I met some friends there for drinks. Service was still unbelievably inattentive and slow. I didn’t order food for fear I may never be able to leave.

We were seated right away but it took about 10 minutes for the waitress to bring chips and take our drink orders. The food came out quick but my chicken fajitas were incredibly tasteless. My wife’s food was alright though. Not very impressed though.

Look, lets face it. A huge percentage of «Mexican» restaurants around here aren’t «authentic». For the most part, what we know as «Mexican» is a sort of bastardized version of Tex-Mex. These types of places normally don’t have items such as elote(grilled corn), pozole(hominy based soup), or even mole sauces that u may see at true authentic restaurants. So, like most others, i wont give a terrible review based on the lever of their authenticity. Their chips and salsa are normally good. Heat sometimes varies, just like heat varies in peppers of same types so cant fault them for that. I do like their margaritas. I dont like that they are«premixed» during happy hour to save time. I normally go for their higher end margarita that i know they make everytime with fresh squeezed lime juice and not some jug of margarita mix u buy at krogers. They only thing i change for personal preference is i go with a white or blanco tequila. Usually in their more expensive margaritas, they tend to use more expensive tequilas, such as respados(2 – 12 months) or anejos(1 – 3 years) that are aged in oak barrels. I dont like the taste these tequilas bring to the party so i stick to plain blanco tequila. I really like their guac. Had it on a few occasions. 7 layer dip is good as well. Loved their mango bbq pork tacos. Came with a spicey slaw and cilantro/lime cream sauce. Their poblano/mushroom/shrimp bake was OK. Probably wouldnt get it again. I normally stick with their basic steak quesadilla(half off during happy hour) and have never been disappointed by them. All in all, for what it is, its a good place. Again, not truly authentic, but around here, does that exist? Service is normally good. Food is consistent and thats enough for me to continue to go back if i like something. I would give it 3 ½ stars if i could but i cant and also wanted to give them the extra star bump to help offset the people that give them 1 star because they arent«authentic». Get off your high horse people. If you dont know what to expect from these type of places by now, i have to question what you got going on upstairs anyway.

Came to Las Margaritas knowing cinco de mayo was a busy night. After an hour long wait we were excited for drinks and food. It took 40 minutes for us to receive our drinks, 50 minutes for our food, and 30 minutes to see a manager. When the manager came he refused to discount individual meals so we had to all pay on one tab. The manager never apologized. Horrible experience.

Awful experience and will never be back! Margarita out of a machine sucked! Quesadilla with sreak… the steak was charred, so they were just awful. The bartender went to go get the manager(maria…4/296pm) she just questioned me about why I ordered them and if I was expecting a full steak, she made me show her what was wrong then asked me if I wanted to keep eating it… just derogatory and condescending. I was a waitress and a bartender and I know how to treat customers… the way she treated me as a paying customer was insulting. I am going to chalk this up to her inexperience with people and the industry, perhaps she is a family member of someone… but definitely NOT manager material. There is no ambiance here other than a bunch of 20 somethings with attitudes and sloppy presentation. .and BAD food!

I really like the atmosphere here and the food is always good. If you get drinks they are always made great as well. The drinks are clean, and everybody is generally friendly, and the pricing isn’t bad. The reason for the 3 star: usually we have good service, but you don’t know what you’re getting she you go. Sometimes it’s awesome. Drinks and food fast, friendly wait staff. Then sometimes you get wait staff that is obviously overworked and stressed, and has taken up to 20 minutes to get fountain drinks and over an hour to get food.

Management change? Still slow service at times but menu and food quality are much improved! Yah for us, because it is literally 2 miles from my house:)

I’ve been coming here since it opened. Over the years it has undergone some changes… not all of them good. Sometimes the service is very lacking, while sometimes the service is amazing; sadly it is hit or miss. The food is decent, nothing spectacular, in my opinion. For the most part the restaurant is clean and the staff is friendly(not always attentive). The happy hour is okay. I really dig the raspberry margarita. Yum!

I did a review of this place in January 2013, and service lacked badly. Perhaps they were short staffed that day as we visited them again over the weekend, and service was good. Food is still average, but not bad. I also always order«hot» salsa, and theirs is some of the best. Most of these places just blow your head off with heat, theirs has a nice mixture of peppers with great flavor. 4 stars for the hot salsa.

The words«Mexican inspired cantina» did not ring a happy bell in my heart, but the phrase«yes we serve margaritas on Sundays» knocked the clanger right off the thing. One of the hazards of small town travel has to do with the draconian local liquor laws that vary from no alcohol on Sundays to only beer and wine but not liquor. I will walk out of a place if I can’t get a margarita on a Sunday; that’s just part of the Mexican dining experience for me, and I’ll drive until I find a restaurant that’s in a different location. Which brings me to this place, despite the aforementioned warning, I mean«specification.» The reviews were not stellar, either, so I was hoping that margarita-lust hadn’t doomed my dining experience. Off to a meh start, I waited longer than necessary for a table, was finally sat by a server who left and came back some time later for my drink order. Pre-mix marg with all the kick of weak tea. Guess I’ll have to cough up extra for an upgrade, I figured. Had to ask for chips and salsa, which arrived long after my drink. First world problems, to be sure, but damn. Thankfully, the chips were pretty good and the salsa, tasty. I decided on Cazuelada(fajita steak, chicken and chorizo sausage grilled with mushrooms, bell peppers, onions and topped with melted cheese. Sides included Spanish rice and charro beans with tortillas.) All in all, the food was good and the marg upgrade took longer but that’s because a bartender(or someone) actually had to make it. The place is absolutely fun to look at and salsa music played continuously. Service was a little lacking, but maybe that was more the server than the norm. I’ll troll for Sunday margs in Columbus next time.
