Called at about 11am yesterday morning(Wednesday) and was able to make an appointment for my son at 2pm the same day. My 2.5HATES haircuts, but this was such a stress free experience. Alicia was fantastic and really engaged with him. He whined a couple of times, but other than that it was smooth sailing. There’s a slide a some toys the kids can play on/with before their haircut and when it’s their turn, they can choose what kind of seat they want to sit in. There are TVs at each station which help with the squirmy ones. We’ll definitely be coming back here from now on!

Mary was great with our daughter. It was her first haircut and she’s autistic. Great experience all around. And both kids loved the slide.

Alicia was great my son is only one and it was his first haircut so he was naturally squirmy but she handled him really well and he looks adorable

We went here for our son’s first haircut and had a great experience. We have tried coming back three times for a walk in visit at all times of the day and have been turned away. It is hard to make an appt. due to nap times with a little one. Good luck getting in here!

Josephine was amazing with our first timer! He was wiggly and curious but she took her time and his hair looks great. Everyone was super friendly.

Cute place for kids to get their hair cut. My son didn’t cry which was a first . They took me in right away and I didn’t have an appointment which was great for me. I will be going back again Good experience

I am only giving 1 star because giving 0 stars wasn’t possible. After getting decent haircuts from one of the stylists here a few times, we went back where we encountered Mary. We walked in so I asked if they were able to take us and they said«no problem.» We continued to sit & wait until closing time(over 30 minutes with no update) while Mary had a personal conversation with another client. Then we watched as Mary proceeded to give the last balloon(the one thing I’d told my son he could have after his haircut since he was nervous) to the other customer/child who already had a balloon and 4 suckers. When I expressed my dissatisfaction at their speed & treatment of us relative to the other clients I was told«that’s how we treat all our new customers.» So if you want to go here once apparently they’ll treat you like royalty, but after that expect to be treated like you don’t matter at all.

I’ve been coming here for about 2 ½ years now. My daughter loves it here. They have a few toys, books, and a slide to keep the little ones occupied. Also magazines for parents. Instead of salon chairs, they have planes & cars for the kids to sit in(which is pretty neat). Every station has a TV and they put on whatever show you/your kid picks. They also have DVDs. I’ve never gotten my daughter’s hair styled, but they do a great job with trims/cuts/bangs. Once my daughter tried to cut her own hair, so I took her in hoping they could fix it. They did an awesome job with damage control. Only thing I would say is make an appointment online. You not only have a guaranteed appointment, but you get $ 2 off for online booking. They rarely answer the phone. Also if you’re going to walk in, don’t get mad if you have to wait. It’s the only kids cut place around here, so naturally they’re busy. And people who make appointments get priority, as they should. Weekends are super crazy, so make the appointment!!! I see so many upset parents come in & complain about the wait. JUSTMAKEANAPPOINTMENT!!! ITSSOEASY!!! They also have punch cards so after 12 haircuts, you get a free one! At the end, your child gets a sucker and/or a balloon. I like it here a lot, would recommend it to anyone!

I like this place. The stylists are all middle aged ladies and very patient and kind. I wouldn’t go here for a crazy complicated style or anything, but for a trim its great. You may want to make an appointment at busy times. They give your kid a balloon and sucker too.

The good: Fun environment, different type of chairs for kids. But If you have a kid who does like haircuts or a scared about haircuts. If u are thinking this is the place to go! NO, don’t go to this place, 1. terrible service, the lady was literally treating others like dirt while we were waiting. We were thinking to leave but dint. 2. My son just don’t like machine, she created a huge fuzz for using scissors. 3. She asked for a tip. Lol 4. When I tried to reach the owner regarding our experience, no response. This will be our final visit to this location.

Great place for a kids haircut. There are different shaped seats for kids to sit in like an airplace, firetruck, or car with a small tv at each station. My son’s favorite part was the FULLSIZESLIDE in the front. Will be going back again.

I took my 2 year old here today for her very first hair cut. We were so happy with everything! We went almost as soon as the salon opened in the morning so there was no wait. The stylist was so friendly and knew just what to do with my toddler’s hair. She even gave me a bag to save the first few pieces of cut hair in, which was so sweet! My toddler can be very anxious and shy when faced with new experiences, and this salon put her right at ease. Highly recommended!

We’ve been to cookie cutters twice with our 3 year old son and couldn’t be happier. The staff is helpful and understanding and the haircuts look great. Our son panics and cries but they stick with it and do a great job regardless. I would highly recommend them.

Receptionist seemed to be annoyed by everyone that walked in the door. Very rude. Each customer was greeted not with a smile and a hello, but an exaggerated wait time. Only 2 stylists working on a Saturday afternoon? Store was dirty. Toys and slide look like they are never cleaned. Looked like a week’s worth of hair underneath the slide, and covering the steps. Overall, I found this place kinda gross. Very promising concept, extremely poor execution. To the owner, teach your staff to clean, and get them uniforms. The jeans and second hand sweatshirts don’t exude professionalism.

In short explanation of how great Cookie Cutter’s is, this stay at home dad can take his crazy picky 3 year old twins to get their hair cut successfully with zero drama. My boys have had Kayleigh cut their hair several times and we loved the outcome. The boys love going to get their hair cut and have a great time. Between being able to chose their own theme seat to sit(think airplanes and even Lightning McQueen’s car) then pick what they get to watch on TV they didn’t even mind when the she used clippers on them. While one child get their hair cut the other kid can play on this huge slide, read books or play video games. Coming from Ann Arbor price are cheap so make sure to leave a nice tip.

I wanted to make sure I took the time to review this place because I almost didn’t go based on the reviews. I took my 18 month old in today(Tues afternoon) for his first haircut. There was no one there other than the one stylist, and Logan had a great time checking everything out. They have a variety of vehicles to sit in while the hair cutting occurs, a big slide, and plenty of books, toys, trucks, and tvs. Logan thought this was a great place to hang out… until the hair cut began, of course. Mary was excellent at working with a crying, flailing toddler who wanted nothing to do with her. She was very reassuring to mom that this is par for the course of a toddler hair cut. She apologized in advance that it may not be a perfect cut since Logan was anything other than patient. I am so pleased with the way the cut turned out and so grateful that there are people like Mary who can perform despite the screaming and running away in the name of a more tame ‘do. We will definitely be going back to Cookie Cutters in hopes that each experience will get a little easier.

This is a pretty neat concept for kids haircuts. They have different types of chairs for the kids to sit in. My older kid sat in a pink model t car and my youngster sat in an airplane. Both of my kids detest the idea of haircuts, so this was a pretty pleasant experience. I would say to go in during the week so that it is not so busy. The kids get to pick their own dvds to watch while getting their haircut. My toddler does not like it one bit and protested rather loudly the whole time, I’m quite sure a regular salon would not have wanted to bother doing a good job while he was crying. It worked for us, ymmv. Pros: no wait(went during the week) stylist did a good job with a kiddo who was upset the whole time cute little cars fun playground inside the store lollypops for after the cut Cons: a bit more expensive than $ 8 super cuts, but my kids don’t do well with that, so to me, it’s worth the extra money(and the drive from Ann Arbor!)

updating my review after talking to the owner scott, who has refunded my money, and has also put in a free haircut for my daughter. I would love to come back, to see another stylist, in mean time my daughter doesn’t want any shorter hair, I know fixing the hair cut would mean getting them trimmed more, and she doesn’t want that. Thank you Scott

I have gone to this facility 4 times for my daughter. I kept hoping it would get better, it does not. I always try to call and make an appointment, no one ever answers the phone. You have to leave a message and wait for them to call you back. I have attempted to drop in, there is always a 30 minute minimum wait. I have had an appointment 2 times and was seen approximately 20 – 30 minutes after the appointment time. This facility is understaffed, which causes frustration. I have seen other parents walk out as kids just don’t do well sitting around that long waiting. They do have an indoor play area with a slide, however my kids get bored with that after a while. The chairs are cute, they have playstation 2’s for the kids to play video games or watch videos while they are getting their hair cut. I am always pleased with the service, once I can actually get it. I am going to be searching for a new hair cutting place for my daughter as I just don’t have the luxury of all the time they want me to sit around and wait for them. The appointment making is a joke as it means nothing.
