Cabana’s Beach Bar & Grill was a pleasant surprise. It seemed very bar-y but it is family friendly during the day. Opt to sit near the street so you can get a view of the ocean and nice breeze… plus some people watching. The service is young folk and good. Bartenders are ok(I stopped in for a drink the previous day and she wasn’t very nice). The food is surprisingly good. The wife and I weren’t overly hungry so we decided to split and app and meal. Loaded Tater tots were a hit along with their sandwiches. They are a nice place to stop in Cape May for a bite and a brew. Bonus is it’s across from the beach. ENJOY!

Ok, so we ended up here because they are the rare local bar open year round with the NFL Sunday Ticket that was willing to put the Bills game on one small television for my husband which was happening at the same time as the sacred birds game. One star for that moment of exceptional kindness. I’ve worked in food service and know what it takes to get buried/weeded and will often give the benefit of the doubt but if these servers are that overwhelmed with this volume? They should bring more staff on and make sections smaller. My draft lager came with 3 chips in the glass. And while I get that it happens over time, I didn’t know if it had just happened and didn’t want to drink from the glass in case there were slivers at the bottom. So I waited for the server. And waited. And waited. And finally after 10 minutes my father flagged down another server. Once our original server caught wind of it she did apologized but it was almost impossible to get her attention to begin with so what a let down that was. Anyway when she finally did come around to apologize we were able to put in our happy hour food order. $ 5 per item so I wouldn’t have issue if it sucked so we got the pizza, wings and pretzels. Wings were fantastic. Pizza was bland but not bad. Pretzels were… deep fried?! Weird but ok. I prefer them baked and didn’t really like these but I’m sure there’s a market for them. So here are some pictures and you know, while I hate to crap on the place because it is kind of fun(environmentally – bar games and football), most of the review are right: service sucks and food is less than to be desired(at full price I would’ve complained). Proceed with caution.

Not going to be a long review. The only reason for the one star here is for our server who was really nice and the fact that Unilocal won let me leave no stars. For those of you who love good cocktails do not go here. You will be disappointed. This was possibly the worst Cosmo I’ve ever had in at least 9 states. I’m talking lollipop sweet, syrupy, awful sweet. And if I hadn’t watched the bartender open a fresh bottle of Grey Goose, I wouldn’t have believed that it was. Gross.

Stopped here on a Friday night to have a drink or two with the Warden. Having visited a time or two earlier in the summer, we knew what to expect. Just like previous visits, we found the staff to be the friendliest and probably the strongest point to visit this establishment. The bartenders are always smiling, really seem to be enjoying themselves and will engage you in conversation if that is what you are looking for. We asked if the bar had the NFL ticket as we are New Orleans Saints fans and sure enough received a positive answer. We returned on Sunday, knowing that two of the employees,(managers, bartenders… not sure… but Jeremy and Chris are the guys that I am talking about) are also big Saints fans and are actually from NOLA. Needless to say, that despite the Saints loss, a good time was had and look forward to visiting again soon.

Perfectly normal. Good place to stop by for a quick drink before or after dinner. Great TVs for watching whatever sports events you’re looking to watch.
