I’ve only ever bought one thing here, the dill dip/sauce. It’s amazing. One day I’ll try something else, but every time I go in, it’s what I want above everything else. The staff is really friendly, the place is clean. Maybe a little expensive on some things, but mostly it’s fair.

Took a slice of cheesecake home after eating lunch at La Bou. Opened it up a few hours later and saw it was expired. They have a hand written date on the inner packaging. I called the restaurant and asked to speak with a manager. I told her the problem and she said there’s nothing she could do. I asked her if I could return it and show her the expired date — I still had my receipt. She said«no». Wtf?! I can’t return bad food for fresh food? Gross. Will never go back. Who knows how old the rest of their food is.

I’m not thrilled. I absolutely love the tomato bisque. It makes my soul happy, but every time I purchase the baguette and dill sauce, I receive dried out bread. I’m sorry, but you can’t precut that. I’ve worked fast food before and don’t want to be that one who insists everything be fresh but, that’s what it’s beginning to feel like I’ll need to do. If I go back.

Always a great experience here! Great food, enviorment, staff, and customer service. The restaurant is clean, and sometimes they even have live music. I would definitely recommend you check em out for breakfast, brunch, or lunch! You won’t be disappointed.

I have been coming to La Bou since I was a kid, and they have never failed me. Their spicy Thai chicken soup is amazing, and the creamy dill dressing… oh the creamy dill!!! It’s so delicious.

Always love their Caesar salad but the time when I ordered a party size salad, they really disappointed me! They threw mostly all the tough white part(spine) of the romaine lettuce. It was basically all trash! Anyway, please make sure when you order take out, check your salad before purchasing! I feel they need to make it up to me, otherwise, there’s other delis around town.

Delicious lunch food! When I get nostalgic… I get the quarter baguette with dill sauce! Now they jar the dill sauce cause it’s amazing! My daddy loves their soups, but I am partial to their salads and good Tea selection! Nom nom!

I told Jacob that I am extremely hungry. He recommended basil chicken or some thing like that(ticket # 224). I was shocked!!! Just a «plain jane» sandwich, no side nothing, not even a lousy pickle. Just a sandwich on plate. The guy did not even try to up sale me any side dish. When I asked, this is it? He responded, yeah. This was my 1st time there, I guarantee that it will be my last time too. Yep should create minus rating also. It I yap had a negative rating, I would give La Bou –10.

Can’t ever go wrong with LaBou. Have friends who still come back to Sac after moving away and have to eat at LaBou just for the bread and their signature dill dressing. Best spinach salad in town I swap their Chinese chicken salad dressing due to I don’t like mayo/sour cream. Also Thai chicken soup is delish. Their apple bread could be for breakfast or snack or dessert like it cause it’s not too sweet. Great coffee nice prices. Local spot can’t go wrong with those!

I have been coming to this La Bou for maybe 100 years now. The people leave a little something to be desired, but the coffee is always great(love the rotating flavor of the day) and the food is delish. Granted, it’s a bit pricey. But I can get coffee(in my own travel cup) and a breakfast croissant for about 5 bucks, which I will gladly pay any day of the week over McNasty’s. House salad is ridiculously good, raisin-custard croissant is nom, and their soup is killer as well. Overall I say forgo the 3-star rating and pop into this tiny La Bou hidden across the street from Carmichael Park. There’s outdoor seating if you plan to stay and enjoy your delicious albeit high-priced and high-fat treats. You’ll be glad you did! What Can I Get For 4 Bucks?: Hot turkey & cheese croissant at breakfast, $ 3.10. SO, DAMN. GOOD. I am heartbroken when they’re sold out, but the ham is a good substitute, especially if you’re in the mood for a little more salt.

I am definitely a fan: coffee, eggs, bagels, salads, food overall and staff. Everyone is very nice, helpful and generally in good spirits. Many bikers stop by this place after a ride(Road Bikers…) and there is a 24hr fitness next door for all those in the area who learned that Arden Hills is not worth it. Check it out at night for Luna Lounge, a small bar with a big kick of local character!

The food tastes great, but can get a little bit pricy. I always get a Thai iced tea because it’s the best! And the tomato bisque is pretty delicious as well! Everyone here is always so nice and welcoming, so I always find myself coming back whenever I’m in the area :)

Hands down THEBESTLABOUINTHESACRAMENTOAREA!!! This location is a franchise, so they have different menu items, which is definitely a bonus. They have a divine, simple shrimp caesar salad right now! Seasoned shrimp, purple cabbage, parmesan cheese, croutons and bread on the side. Fairly filling salad, though I skipped the croutons and bread. With their divine mango iced tea, it came out to $ 11. Everyone knows La Bou is pricey, but the saying goes… you get what you pay for. If you want fast food crap for lunch, sure… it will be cheaper. Their brownie rock is TODIEFOR! You won’t find a chocolate heaven better than this. Nutty, most and chewy. Well worth the calories. Awesome customer service-everyone is polite, friendly and knowledgeable. I agree with Kristen W… the parking lot is horrid. Its small, cramped and it is the worst during lunch hour and weekends. Definitely my favorite La Bou in town. YOUGUYSROCK!

I ate at La Bou for the first time for lunch today. My wife has had it multiple times and is a big fan of their bread, so she requested it. When we pulled into the tiny parking lot every spot but one was taken, so we grabbed it before someone else pulled in and made our way to the restaurant. Inside, lots of people were ordering and lots were eating at the tables. There was a bustle of business and workers would move to cash registers when the line got to be more than a couple people long. We placed our orders. My wife got the La Bou club with avocado added. I got the Mediterranean club with lettuce instead of cucumber, and my mother-in-law got a smoked turkey sandwich. We sat at a table to wait for the food. About 5 minutes later it was ready to go. We took our food with us and ate it later. My wife really enjoyed her sandwich. My mother-in-law thought hers was alright. Mine was good, but not great. It also was on the walnut bread instead of the olive bread that it was supposed to come with. The quality was solid on the ingredients, and I agree the bread was very well made(though the crust was a bit hard to chew through). The quantity of food provided in the sandwich was reasonable for about $ 6, but the sandwich just didn’t really jump out at me as being anything special. I respect those that love it, but it was just a sandwich to me. Summary: Good quality. Reasonable portions for reasonable prices. Messed up my order. Walnut bread is good but tough crust. The parking lot is small, so come prepared to wait for a spot or park in back. Nice service. They keep the line going by opening registers as necessary.

I really like this place, but hate the parking lot. The staff are all really friendly, food consistently good. I also like the speediness here. They seem to be much faster than a few other La Bou’s in the area. I love the salad and sandwich combo at lunch, the dill dressing is always my splurge for the day! I have tried to recreate it myself at home without any luck what so ever! In the winter, the soups really hit the spot. The have a great variety. The butternut squash soup is amazing! Also try the chicken noodle, and veggie. Bread is always fresh, salads crisp with variety of ingredients. The only major downfall to this place is the parking lot. I have had two people hit me while being parked in it, once minor door knick, the second backed into my bumper. Try to avoid during the rush lunch hour.

maybe i’m being bias here because I’ve been coming to this la bou since I was 5. I used to go to school up the street so my mom would always bring me here before school. I STILL see my elementary school teacher frequent there a lot. I particularly like this one because the staff is the nicest here and gives the homiest feeling of when they first started. I absolutely love their food. Yes, it is overpriced but it’s so good to me. It’s not delicious like a five star Gary Danko meal, but it is so good in a little better than everyday flavor and it’s so on point with the flavors. My favessss: asian noodle salad spicy thai chicken soup baguette and dill roast beef sandwich on croissant asian chicken salad tomato bisque soup with baguette to dip these are alwayssss on point and i’ve never had any of these anywhere else where it tastes as good!!!
