Lucky Llama is a very tasty coffee house that is a wonderful alternative to Starbucks down the street. I do like their brew that is not too dark or bitter, just a little tangy. I’ve had their lattes as well and they were great, but the regular coffee is the star for me. The coconut cookie was perfect, crispy on the edges and gooey in the middle. mmmmm…I’m having flashbacks! I have not had the acai bowl, but I bought a bag of local granola and that was excellent as well, all the baked goods were fresh and tasty. It is a really cute and relaxing place, facing a small park like area, with plenty of open air seating. Staff was friendly, I wish I lived closer, but I do stop whenever I’m in the area

I had the iced Americans and the granola bowl. Good but I needed to add just a touch more raw sugar for my taste. My friend had the peppermint mocha wasn’t too fond of it. Sat in the wingback chairs and people watched both inside and out. Nice outside patio but since we were writing didn’t want to have laptop in the elements as it was overcast and moist. Nice helpful staff. Really relaxing décor. Clean bathroom. I would definitely come here again.

Lucky Llama Coffee does«local coffee hangout» in the best way! We ride our bicycles or Vespa here often from Ventura. It’s such a fun place. The barista’s and other kitchen help are always happy and smiling and greet everybody with a big hello. Today my husband enjoyed a chai tea latte and I had an almond milk cappuccino both in porcelain mugs for here. We also shared the mango-acai bowl which all I can say is yummy yummy yummy. Can I say yummy yummy yummy again. This place is always busy but worth the wait for a table either inside or outside. The décor is really neat. And they have a lot of Lucky Llama merchandise. Don’t miss out! Get«lucky» with coffee(and other items) at Lucky Llama Coffee!

A little funky place just off the main drag. There’s a small outdoor seating area, just a bit too chilly on the day we were there. A chai latte, an iced coffee, and a hot all tasted fine. Barista seemed nice. Easy rest stop opportunity if you’re driving along the coast.

I’d like to love, but not as lucky as the llama. I found it cold, in both temp and service. Located in the center of a very cute and charming Carpinteria, it’s lovely to find a non-chain coffee house, and this one is very charming despite. The coffee, however, is great. They serve coffee by Castle Coffee Roasters. Not bitter, not overly dark, not burnt — in fact, just right. You can buy by the pound, too, and besides the standards Columbia, Ethiopia, Papua New Guinea, they have Zip Zinger(Dark Chocolate, Stone Fruit, and Caramels), SantaRossa(Chocolate and Cinnamon), and Holiday Blends for a little of something different.
