I ate here last night. They had a wide variety on the menu since it was Vietnamese new year. First, they had Phở. Normally my favorite place for phở is Pasteur or Bang, but this place does it right, they put just the right amount of msg and fish sauce to make it salty enough for my taste buds. The chefs here know that I don’t like veggies in my phở, and they have it ready after I take my first sip of coke. Second, we had thit kho with egg. A lot of times, they are inconsistent with this dish, but last night, they were on POINT. You get tender meat and smash the egg into your rice to form a unique texture, not found in many places. Third, we had steak, wayyyy too peppery, I told the chef that salt is a better ingredient and if I wanted straight pepper, I would have gone to one of Bobby Flay’s steak houses again. After that, we had lobster. It was just TOOOOO buttery, I told the chef that it was inedible and that he should figure out how to balance that out. I had recently been to Ruth’s Chris where their lobster was superb. Finally, the sous chef brought out some Neapolitan ice cream, it was fine, I believe they went to the local store and bought blue bell. Can’t complain. Overall, the experience was fine, it was free, so can’t be too critical. I will be coming back to try other items soon.
