Double jungle burger and fries-$ 12 bucks with a drink. Pretty good and service was fine too. Just a small joint, real plain, a good eat-with-your-buddy establishment. I’d go again when in the area.

Jungle Burger! Every time! BEST Fried pickles! Spears, not chips. Others I’ve gone with have enjoyed everything else they’ve tried.

I took my family here since LA burger was closed one Saturday. I read that the place was dingy and dirty. We decided to trust the reviews on Unilocal and try it out. We are foodies and love hole in the walls. This place was so disgusting! I was worried about my kids touching anything in, the floors had layers of filth on them, the walls were so gross that we asked them to go ahead and pack our food to go. Hoping that the burgers would make up for the bad customer service and disgusting environment. NOPE gross! I would rather eat mc Donald’s and I don’t go near that place. This is the second time Unilocal had let us down on class. :/

I had the bacon cheeseburger with jalapeños and guacamole. I also had fried pickles and fries for the sides. I thought the burger was juicy without being overly greasy. The burger had lots of flavor and was very filling. The fries tasted similar to wingstop which I love. The fried pickles were perfect with a crunch. I can’t stand when fried pickles come out soggy and they came out just how I like them. I went with my family of 5 and they all loved their burgers. I will definitely be back!

Fantastic burger. Homemade fries and Texas toothpicks were great too! Kind of homey but worth the great food!

Love the jungle burger!!! As well as the chicken jungle sandwich! Nothing healthy about it but it’s worth the calories. And the fries add that finishing touch. Definitely best burgers in the area!

I like their burgers, I like there prices, but the cleanliness and atmosphere really has something to be desired. If you occasionally wipes down the salt and pepper shakers with a clean wet towel it goes a long way!

Just as a head’s up to anyone in the area(Carrollton, specifically around Marsh and Beltline) that received a coupon in the mail from Burger Island saying they offer free delivery; they will not honor that coupon. When we called the number on the coupon for delivery, we were informed, very rudely, that they don’t deliver.(Just a flat, rude, «We. Don’t. Deliver.») When I mentioned the coupon we’d gotten in the mail that very day, the response I got was, «Well, even our menus say it, but we. Don’t. Deliver.» Like I was the most annoying, stupid person she’d ever had the displeasure of talking to. I was friendly, upbeat, and I only asked about the coupons after she initially said they don’t deliver to see if maybe it was a special thing specific to the coupon. Maybe the individual who answered the phone has had to go through this same conversation multiple times and is just tired of it, but you lost a customer. I would have happily made the five minute drive to pick the burgers up if the girl on the phone hadn’t been so rude. A simple«I’m sorry, but those coupons are incorrect. Would you like to place a pick-up order?» would have gone a long way.

It is an okay burger, nothing special fancy just a burger… It is super greasy. And i went during the lunch hour so it must have been packed. My fries were soggy and my burger was soggy from the excessive amount of oil… Staff seemed somewhat friendly but didn’t seem to enjoy work… Place did not look that clean. Food id give 3 stars but cleanliness i have to say 2 stars…

The décor is not so nice, but the giant burgers, hand cut fries, and fast service make up for it. Don’t go to this place if you are trying to impress someone. Go to this place to get down on a big, fresh hamburger patty topped a lot of ways, and the price is right too! I haven’t been let down yet!

Awful!!! I used to really like this place, but the quality over the last few years has declined!!! Do NOTGOHEREANDEXPECTGOODFOODORGOODSERVICE!!! I went in and ordered a burger combo to go. I waited 20 mins. for my food to get ready. If you are dining in, the orders get pushed in front of the«to go» orders. Needless to say, when I got back to the office, NOFRIES!!! So I paid $ 2.75 for a combo I did not get!!! TO top it off, the burger was over cooked and chewed like a hockey puck! Bun was stale and falling apart. All this for 8+ $$$. When I called in, I was told I could come back for the fries and they could not deliver them. I work less than two miles away and they offer«free delivery» which was somehow unavailable. They got my money and I am giving them this bad review! Think TWICE and SAVE A LIFE!!! SAVEYOURMONEY!

First time I came here, I almost turned around and left after opening the door. I wasn’t expecting a dive. Don’t get me wrong — dive joints can have great food. I just wasn’t expecting it based on the review I had read. I checked the sign outside. Yep, this was the right place. The burger was cooked just right, and was both huge and delicious. My subsequent trips there were as much to enjoy the food, as to try and figure out what they were doing so I could replicate it at home. I eventually got to where I could make a pretty good knockoff. So it has been a while since I’ve been to B.I., until today. The main change is in the«décor». The mix-match of chairs that appeared to have been picked up at a variety of garage sales are gone, replaced by a couple of dozen stackable conference-room chairs. At first glance, the tables appear to also match, but are actually the same hodge-podge of tables, but all covered in the same green vinyl. And I counted no less than five different varieties of booth seating. Gotta love it. The burger was still excellent. However, I once again ordered the onion rings, despite recalling that they’re mediocre at best. Hopes for improvement were dashed. They are no better than store-bought frozen rings. Sonny B remains the king of the ring. So next time you’re in the Old Downtown Carrollton area, and you don’t feel like eating at Babes or at Sid’s Rainbow Grill, come to the Island. Just stick with the French Fries.

I’m not much of a burger fan. When craving a burger I usually eat Whataburger. But my son loves burgers, especially home made. He’d heard lotsa great things about this place so we decided to drop in. The ladies there were very nice. Gave us a quick briefing of the menu. I went with the Jungle Burger w/Onion Rings and my son had the Bacon Cheeseburger w/Sweet Potato Fries. My burger was a mess, but that was a GREAT thing! I loved it, so juicy and the jalapenos added a great kick. The OR were even better than Sonics(which I usually think are the best). My son loved his burger and couldn’t finish it. I only finished half mine and had the rest for dinner. His sweet potato fries were heavenly!!! If you haven’t been yet, you must!!!

Burger Island is pretty close to where I live and I love this place. They have a big menu, so that’s good. I always get my burger and fries to go and it’s good every time. I usually get a cheeseburger with mushrooms, guacamole on the side, and seasoned fries! So good. The sweet potato fries are also delicious. Don’t be fooled by the lack of décor, food is good. :-)

Stopped in for lunch to avoid the chain restaurants while traveling on business in Irving and I was happy that I was not turned off by the exterior and interior decorations(or lack there of). Ordered a classic cheeseburger and fries. The burger was perfectly cooked and tender. The burn was toasted which was a nice touch from a dive like this. The burger was very tasty and full of flavor but it was a little overwhelmed by the large bun. Maybe i should have ordered the double to ensure plenty of meat in every bite, but all in all it was a great sand which. The fries were nicely seasoned; a little underdone but maybe i just liked them more crispy than most. i would go back and probably order the double, and next time i would just order take out to avoid the interior eye sores.

IT’S BURGERTIME! Went here for lunch since it was close by the work place. Got the Big Island burger, seasoned fries, and a drink. Let me see if I can remember all the toppings on the Big Island Burger: Sautéed Onions, Mushrooms, Jalapenos, American & Provolone Cheese, Mayo, Mustard, Lettuce, Tomatoes, and Pickles. I thought the burger was a complete mess. The bread was huge but the meat patty was kind of small. The beef patty didn’t have much flavor and the toppings were just dripping all over the place. The seasoned fries were nothing to get excited about either. For almost $ 10, I rather get my burger fix at Twisted Root or Five Guys.

My husband, daughter and I went in a few months back and really enjoyed our meal. My mushroom Swiss was amazing but it fell apart and I had to finish it with a fork. I didn’t mind :) the french fries have a wonderful taste but tend to be on the soggy side. Again, didn’t mind, I don’t like crunchy French fries. I think my husband had the burger and hated that it fell apart. He said it had a great taste but was just too messy. Kristen, enjoyed eating her burger, and what child doesn’t love French fries? Yes, it may be alarming when you first walk in but you have to work with what you have. I think they do great hamburgers and will be going back very soon

Burger, fries, and soda…$ 9.74…not worth it. Hated the bun the burger was on, burger tasted OK. The fries stink! They are those«fresh cut» ones which means they will have skins, be rubbery with no crunch at all, and full of grease. Gross. I’d like to meet the person who got McDonalds and everyone else to change how they make fries and shove these… you know the rest.
