Great little hole in the wall place to get pupusas. For a gringa it was a little like visiting El Salvador with the ambience and different drinks and different way to order and pay. The pupusas were all great –fresh and hot. I did have to point at pictures to get them to understand my order. But that was fine cuz the food was so good!

Not at all impress! Chicharron pupusas & beans pupusas were really good. Pickled cabbage was just ok. Fried ripe plantain were extremely oily! I wouldn’t make the trip all the way here again.

I had high expectations for this place after reading the previous reviews… I had been craving pupusas so i knew i was going to order that. the cheese pupusa was good for the price it’s pretty small though. pupusa revuelta de chicharon had no taste at all. The pickled cabage that comes with it was ok could be better. The lady didnt give us salsa so we had to get it from a different table. The horchata tasted too watered down. The sopes were actually pretty good. We also tried the 3 meat torta it was good but ive tasted much better ones. Service was good and the place was super clean so that was nice. id recommend but i wouldnt say this place is the best there’s better places.

Oh I will for SURE be giving these ladies 5 stars. Pavo(turkey) torta, loroco con queso pupusas, revueltas pupusas(chicharron, cheese and beans), to go. Delicious and hot, even once we got home. Per other reviews, the salsa is super spicy, but don’t skip it — the flavors are fabulous. Pickled cabbage had a different flavor I couldn’t identify, but it went well with the pupusas. Interior is dark, but it’s bigger than it looks from outside. 1 huge torta, 4 pupusas: $ 13.50. Fed two people. Overall excellent cheap eats!

This place is the best. The cheese-chicharon pupusas are delicious! We also tried the fajita tacos; which were also great! I’ve been looking for a place like this since I moved to far north Dallas. I’m very happy!

Came here for a quick bite to-go. They are very friendly, and the food and prices are great. The tacos I ordered were my favorite – the pupusas were OK. One was good and the other I did not care for. I don’t hold that against them though, since I had trouble communicating and may have accidentally ordered something I wouldn’t have liked. I basically asked what was popular. I have had pupusas a few times before at other places, but unfortunately I don’t remember the kind that I like! So that’s my fault. Next time I will just get a bunch of tacos, because they were AWESOME. And I mean the you’re-going-to-eat-more-than-you-should kind of awesome. Also, despite being super delicious, their prices are rock bottom. I will definitely be back!

Wow… the pupusas… just WOW! $ 15 got us enough pupusas, fresh hot salsa(only a drop of which I use as I can’t handle too much heat, yet the incredible flavor still shines thru), and accompanying coleslaw to feed three hungry people. Delicious! I especially like the chicken and pork. The blend of meat and cheese inside this slightly thick, doughy tortilla-like thing is perfect. Two are usually enough for me, but three really satisfy my craving. Great for breakfast too, easy to reheat in microwave. My daughter speaks Spanish so I just let her do the ordering. Staff is friendly. Restaurant is small and feels like a comfortable, clean little hole-in-the-wall type of spot that I wouldn’t mind eating in, but we have only ordered to go. One of these days I am going to get the nerve to try some of the dried fruits they have available for sale on the counter.

Specializes in tortas and pupusas! Can’t decide with the list of choices? Go with the Pork Torta, you won’t even know where to take the first bite, it’s huge! Must admit the deep red salsa kicked up the spicy-ness to the right notch!

I used to work close by here, and I sincerely attribute my sudden weight gain in the summer of ’08 to this place. Every time I’m in Carrollton, I try to stop by here. Owners are friendly and speak English now, they no longer have to bear with my broken Spanglish. The food is even better! For years their pupusas and tortas have been the best in the area. Try a lengua torta, you’ll like it.

Papusas and the Al Pastor tacos are fantastic. Can’t wait to try the tortas! Oh, and the hot sauce is a nice deep red with a hell of a kick! Perfect for heat seekers.

Delicious. Authentic. Friendly. This is my go-to for tacos; the barbacoa and al pastor are my favorite — so juicy and satisfying. The tacos come on soft Tortillas of your choice between corn or flour, along with the option of cilantro, diced onions, and wedges of lime. 3 to 4 tacos are usually enough. When I want to mix things up, I like to go for a Cuban torta: a combination meat sandwich with refreshing veggies and some mayo on a most heavenly warm bun. I like to drizzle a little salsa on with every bite and mm mm! I always bring my out of town visitors there and they have all loved it! Tacos always hit the spot and the torta is consistently a pleasant and unique surprise for them.

I’ve always been a fan of tortas and this place does a great job. From the bread being perfect to the size of the meal everything is delicious. We tried the ham torta and two pupusas, along with the enchiladas. The torta came out first with the Pupusas and looked awesome. The enchiladas followed and looked great as well. Everything came out hot and ready and delicious. For the flavor, amount of food, and the quality of ingredients, this is one of my new favorite spots for tortas. The price is great also so for me it’s a new cheap awesome hole in the wall that I plan to return to often.

Hands down, best pupusas ever! Don’t miss this little restaurant! Everything is authentic, fresh and made to order. I’m pretty sure I’ve tried every single pupusa they offer here, and have never been disappointed. Pollo, loroco, jamon, quesa, you can’t go wrong with any of them. It comes with some pickled slaw. Also, try their menudo, absolutely delicious with if you like tripe.

This is an authentic Salvadorean small restaurant. Their pupusas are fantastic and their spicy green sauce makes them even tastier! They are made to order so come out soft and hot :) Their tamales de gallina are also excellent. Great place to get pupusas to-go!

Excellent pupusas! I stopped in to sample their pupusas and left happy. I tried the chicharron, pollo, and queso. I definitely recommend the chicharron, gotta try it at least once, especially at $ 1.50, you can’t afford not to try it once.

I saw this place as I was leaving the bank one day and the word«tortas» stayed in my mind. I’d been looking for a good place to get tortas since moving to Carrollton. When looking for a new place nearby within budget the day before payday, I remembered to look this place up. The reviews were good, but not recent. What could that mean? I was worried over nothing. I ordered the torta cubano since that’s always a huge sandwich with lots different meats you can pick out and sample. The sandwich pleasantly surprised me by including pickled carrots and jalapeño. The torta left a nice glow in my mouth without ever becoming too hot and I added some of their green sauce which kicked up just a half-notch more. I saw they had plantains, so I inquired if they were ripe(sweet) or green(starchy). Platanos maduros, yay, they were lovely: standing in for french fries, tortilla chips and dessert. My partner ordered the«especial de hoy» which was carnitas either as tacos, tortas or gorditas. He got a 2 taco plate with rice and beans. The savory carnitas were a little fatty, but tasty. He said they were a little plain and he had to sauce them up a bit with the provided salsas and sour cream. He was very happy with the rice, which is one of things he looks for in a mexican restaurant. It looked like white rice with peas and carrots, but no tomatoes to color the rice. The frijoles were a little stiff, but had a good flavor. They don’t have a soda fountain or iced tea. They can make milk shakes, but it looks like most guests will make a selection from the bottled drinks in the refrigerator. Note the bottle opener on the edge of the fridge. We tried a couple of «Boing» drinks which were made with real fruit pulp and cane sugar. I saw several items on the menu that I wanted to try next time like pupusas loroco con queso.

Telenovelas on the tv? Check Tucked away location in an ethnic shopping strip? Check The smell of fresh meat and bread? Check 6 white kids enduring awkward stares for being the only white folk in a probable 5 mile radius? Check I’ve been on a neverending search for great Tortas since the closing of my precious Tio’s Tortas a few months ago. I’ve had a few different places since then, but I think I have my new favorite. We hit up Michuacana on Sunday after a good weekend of partying for some much needed sustenance. The sweet, salty scent that trickled out the storefront gut checked my empty insides like a hammer. And just like that it was game time. My mediocre Spanish paired well with their mediocre English and we managed to figure out I wanted a Pavo(turkey) with fries. Other options on the menu included beef(fried or not), sausage, chicken(fried or not), fajita, egg, avocado and tongue. I’ve had tongue before and was impressed with the taste, but figured it would not do well when sitting on two nights worth of alcohol. After about 10 minutes our food was brought out to us(we spend the previous time listening to our meat on the grill and our fries in the fryer.. .saying we were hungry by this point would be an understatement). The food was great. A soft but crispy buttery hung of bread filled with refried beans, fresh turkey, avocado, onions, lettuce and jalapenos. Add some salsa verde and you are living the good life. All the flavors were there and represented well. The fries were fresh, crisp and piping hot. Life was as good as it can get. The next 15 minutes was a whirlwind of face stuffing and contented grunts. When the cook(owner?) came out to ask if we wanted anything else, there was a definite bit of silence while we all considered the idea despite being on the verge of being sick. When it was all said and done, 2 tortas, 2 drinks and a large basket of fries set me back $ 15. Not a bad day at the beach. However, I think my well-mannered girlfriend summed it up best with this quote: «Don’t judge me because I’m about to unbutton my pants to finish my sandwich.» I will be going back.
