There was once a drink called Arrack Cocktail, there was Whiskey Cocktail, Gin Cocktail, Brandy Cocktail and so on. How about a Bolivar Old Fashioned, a tribute to the influential Venezuelan leader, which mixes five rums, Angostura bitters infused with tobacco leaves and Brazilian coffee beans. The nicely conceived drink did well on a recent night at TBD Kitchen. Under the watchful eye, TBD bartender made me a stellar version Old Fashioned that would befit a $ 10 price tag. A hand carved chunk of brilliant, clear coconut water ice is carefully lowered in and stirred briefly. An ice cube that gradually sweetens the drink as it’s savored. Hands down this was the best Old Fashioned I ever had in the metroplex. TBD stands for Tacos, Burritos and Daisies. The Daisy being a cocktail category of which the Margarita and Mojitos are a variation, informed by the friendly bartender during my visit. As for bite I had Baja Mahi Mahi Fish Tacos. Holy cow delicious! Fresh and very crispy with slaw and chipotle sauce. T.B.D Kitchen is a chef-driven neighbourhood restaurant and bar in Castle Hills Village Shops with latin inspired food and drinks. Great restaurant to sit on the covered and heated patio on a cold/rainy day. Our service was fast and friendly.

We have tried five drinks, and all have been not only strong but also unique. The margarita in a bag with a spicy straw is a must try! We have tried several tacos, tortilla soup, and flautas. All have been impressive! The new, outdoor patio is great with heaters, enclosed area and plenty of space. Service was excellent on both occasions.

Absolutely wonderful on all levels. I’ve had almost everything on the menu and each and every thing has been phenominal! Even down to the chips… which are crispy, light and seasoned well. Cocktails are ridiculous. This is a wonderful must stop.
