Eatery, maybe ok food, IF i ever got to try it. We waited about ~15min before seeing a hostess, then she first thought it best she should talk to her BF hiding in the waiting area. This was on a slow night. Then, Thought we’d try this a 2nd time, again, chatting hostess in the corner, but that was ok, as a waiter saw us and sat us down. But 20min later never returned with our drink order. He was off in the corner chatting with 4 other employees, maybe even the Mngr? So we walk up to him and asked where our drinks were. His reply was«Did I take that?» To make a statement, not sure it sank into this clueless mngr, we walked out. Where do they get these Managers? Straight off the street. That first night we went next door to the steak house, Same food, twice the price, which would have been fine, except the class-less waitress was embarrassing :(another one off the street. Can you see a difference in the professionalism between mngt here and Dukes, or Fandango, or the highly trained staff at a real place? –Jer

Was the Garden Café– now«The Eatery.» Betcha marketing stayed up all night coming up with that one. Kinda dead on a Sunday morning. The Western Omelette was made with pretty fresh ingredients, and they weren’t shy about loading on the cheddar cheese, but it was just scrambled eggs in an omelette shape. Coffee was decent, but nothing to write home about. Hash browns were good, just a tad on the greasy side, which is the way I like ‘em anyway. Coffee cups were kept full. Good service. If I was in the Nugget for some reason I would definitely come back, but not worth a special trip. Learn to make an omelette, though, and I’d reconsider. My very first real job was bussing tables here back in the ’70’s, and the energy level here these days is a lot lower.

I stopped off here to wait for a friend, and decided to have a bite. I ordered a turkey burger with a salad instead of the fries, and I was surprised to say that the salad was larger than I would have expected! the turkey burger was to my surprise again. juicy! lots of extras to place on this too! and it was a pretty good size as well, I left satisfied and will come back again!

Now called The Eatery located inside the Nugget. Ordered my favorite hamburger, Awful Awful and it was yummy yummy! Had a side salad and diet coke to go with my 1⁄3 lb Burger. Great service!

Since this weekend will be filled with festivities of the New Year, my dad and I decided to do burger night the last weekend of the month. Our coupon today was for the Garden Café in Carson City at the Carson City Nugget Casino(CCNC). This restaurant is located inside the CCNC. We arrived around 6:30PM. It was relatively dead in the casino and the restaurant was even more dead. We were greeted in about 30 seconds and seated promptly. Our coupon was for two Awful Awful burgers which is a double patty cheeseburger. Our waitress came by and took our drink order and the drinks arrived within a couple of minutes. The person who brought us our drinks had the personality of a dead fish. I always say«Thank you» to all of the wait people. And, I expect an acknowledgement. But, none was given. Thankfully, she ignored us the rest of the meal! Our waitress came back and took our order. I ordered mine medium and my dad ordered his burger medium well. Within a short time, voila! The burgers were delivered to the table! Nice and hot. I was surprised to see a little plastic tag stuck in my burger that said«Medium.» It’s been years since I’ve seen these tags. What even surprised me more was on one side of the tag, it stated«Certified Angus Beef.» I took a bite. Oh Yea! That was good beef. No, it was excellent beef! I enjoyed the generic soft bun and the beer battered crispy fries. It was all good and very filling down to the last bite. This was one of the few times that I was sorry to see the burger disappear so quickly. I would have given four stars but I had to ask the waitress for another ice tea. The bus person(the one with the great attitude) never checked on us. — — — — — — — - Bottom Line Would I come back? Yes, even with the«fair» bus service. I wouldn’t mind enduring the 30 minute drive to get there. The service from the waitress, cashier and other waitresses was good and cordial. The food is decent but, it’s a nice change of pace.

Food is taste less and we got a hair in the food and a dirty plate. Definitely I don’t recommend this place at all as on top of that service was very bad

Like a smaller version of Rosie’s over at the JA Nugget in Sparks. Similar menu, prices, service and food quality(all on the very decent side). If you’re paying out of pocket, the Carson Station diner is a *little* cheaper for about the same food quality and quantity. But if you have a player’s card at the Nugget they’re real generous with the half-price breakfast offers and food comps, so this place gets the nod on that alone.

Giving it 4 stars for value and a nice soup & salad bar. We just got sandwiches which were standard diner fare, but good.

What a deal! My family and I were exploring after spending a weekend in South Lake Tahoe with some of my friends. We decided to detour to Carson City and Reno before coming home. While driving, we became hungry as we had only eaten breakfast. We kept seeing signs for the Garden Café at Carson Nugget Casino for a prime rib dinner that was only $ 6 as part of their 60 year celebration specials. Loving a good deal… we decided to stop here for dinner. The prime rib special is only offered from 4pm-9pm. The café is not all that big, and has typical café décor. Service was quick and the workers were friendly. We were seated quickly, but I think we beat the crowd because after we ate, there was a wait to be seated. After was sat, someone came by quickly to introduce themself and take our order. We ordered 3 prime rib dinners. They have an option to add the salad bar for only $ 1.54! The salad bar is all you can eat salad and soup! Salad was fresh and the soups were good. There was 2 different types of soup, one with corn and chicken and the other I can’t remember. Such a deal! I saw many people ordering prime rib and just filling up on soup and salad instead, lol. The regular price for the prime rib dinner is $ 12 for the 12 ounce and I think $ 15 or $ 16 for the larger cut. The $ 6 prime rib dinner came with your choice of potato, either mashed or baked, some veggies, and the 12 ounce cut of prime rib… if you add on the salad bar, then the meal comes to be about $ 7.50, still an amazing deal! The prime rib itself was obviously not the best I’ve ever had, but it was cooked the way I asked, tender, juicy and had a good flavor. I was very satisfied for $ 6! It also comes with au jus and horseradish sauce. The au just itself was a tad salty… but not so much that it was inedible! If prime rib isn’t your thing, they have daily lunch and dinner specials as well. The regular price for the all you can eat soup and salad bar is $ 7. Lunch specials are offered daily from 11am-4pm for only $ 7 with $ 4 all you can eat soup and salad bar. Lunch specials are: Mon: Rigatoni with Italian Sausage; Tues: Beef Stroganoff; Wed: Hot Corned Beef Sandwich; Thurs: Trailblazer Burger; Fri: Fish and Chips; Sat: Braised Pot Roast; Sun: Roast Turkey Dinner; everyday: Marinated Prime Rib Sandwich. Dinner specials are only $ 8 with $ 4 all you can eat soup and salad bar. DInner specials are: Mon: BBQ Chicken and Ribs; Tues: Beef Stroganoff; Wed: All-You-Can-Eat Spaghetti and Meatballs; Thurs: Chopped Sirloin Steak; Fri: Fish and Chips; Sat: Braised Pot Roast; Sun: Roast Turkey Dinner. I would definitely come here again is I was passing through Carson City and hungry. There doesn’t seem to be much in this city, so it’s awesome that there is a cheap affordable place to eat that actually tastes pretty good! If I came and the prime rib dinner was not offered, I was for sure try one of the other daily specials! You won’t be dissapointed… and even if you are… your meal did not cost much at all! They also have baked goodies here… not a large selection, but I saw pies, doughnuts, and cookies.
