Still my favorite sushi place. Still in love with the main female sushi chef there. Still highly recommend the lily roll!

The rolls weren’t bad and the wasabi had a decent bite to it which was enjoyable! The individual who prepared my rolls had the personality of a rock but then again I guess if I was looking for entertainment I would go to a circus…

We are giving 5 stars for the food quality being excellent. We feel this is most important which is why we’ve been coming here and taking out for many years. It may seem as if not being greeted with a friendly smile or otherwise, here in the USA we expect good customer service but understand that the older generation is a culture not raised with a customer service skilled mindset. So although they may appear to be lacking a friendly smile I can assure you they appreciate you and will fix anything the way you want it if you ask.

The sushi here is not fresh. The crystal shrimp is the majority of the filling in the long rolls, and the texture/taste is just not normal. They have decent Chinese food, but I will never eat AYCE sushi here.

We walked in after a long day on the road and were greeted by a polite young Asian man who took our order and was very helpful, then a middle aged latina woman comes up to micro manage the young man and with an unwarranted scowl on her face proceeds to tell us in a very rude and hostile tone that we can’t order the lunch special because lunch ended 5 minutes before. She had horrible customer service skills and didn’t apologize for the confusion once. All the other employees looked very friendly, welcoming, and smiled at us though. The food looked great but paying double the price because we didn’t come in a few minutes prior wasn’t worth it. The owners also have done a great job with the door and ambiance.

Overpriced, average Chinese food in a restaurant where the staff never smiles. I’ve talked with friends who have had the same experience, it’s as if the staff really hates working there. They also charge a 50 cent fee if you use a debit card, and your bill is under $ 10.00.

The fresh sushi is anything but fresh. Fried sushi was previously fried then refried to order. Overcooked on outside and mushy soggy oil saturated rice on inside. The two ladies at sushi bar were eating while making sushi. Will not return.

I had a craving for sushi so called Ming’s and made an order to go. I explained that I had to drive 25 miles and would be there in 35 minutes. The man said no problem it would be ready. I got there and found it wasn’t even started. The man apologized and started to get the order in. I said I called first because I didn’t want to wait so why would I wait now??? I left and went to Kim Lee’s where they took care of me nicely. If you’re going in for sit down meal then I would say go for it as it’s always been good when I drop in. It’s the call in orders that seem to be the issue as this wasn’t the first time they have messed up a phone order of mine. With so much competition the customer service is what stands out. Ming’s misses the mark with their customer service. Kim Lee’s was happy to demonstrate how a customer should be taken care of.

After all the mediocre chinese food we have tried in Carson City, it was so nice to find a place with really good food! I had the orange shrimp and my husband had sweet and sour shrimp, both were wonderful and the price of lunch for what you get was great! The service was great too. our server was attentive, for example he noticed my six-year old was trying to eat some soup that was too hot and he brought her some ice cubes to cool it down. It always helps when servers are nice to my kids! we will definitely be back.

Wow… Either you all were born without taste buds or were compensated to write a positive review. Regardless this place has no right to have a «voted best» sign… $ 58 dollars just went in the trash. The garlic chicken was nothing more then soggy wet breading and some sauce that smelled like a dirty diaper. The pot stickers were not much better. They had a pungent smell of cat food. The sushi was so old and fishy all three rolls went in the trash. I lifted a piece of eel off the roll and it was slimy. The yellow tail smelled like something I would put on my hook to catch a fresh fish. The spicy tuna had no hope. It was discolored and stiff as if it was the last piece they had laying around lost behind the fridge. I will never go back. How any one goes here is beyond me… Good luck to all who go.

We took our Christmas tradition of going out for Chinese food to Ming’s this year — I, a visitor, and a local friend. I was favorably impressed immediately by the clean, bright, modern décor. The small bar is located near the front entrance. A man was mixing two cocktails when we arrived. He told me they were Mai Tais, and that they were made with rum. My friend and I went to the left for Chinese food.(The sushi bar is to the right.) I had a Mai Tai, and it was very good. My friend was the designated driver, so she ordered a black tea. We both drank tea eventually, and it was good. I am a vegetarian, and there was a good selection of vegetarian items. I ordered the vegetable mu shu pancakes. When the waiter arrived with them, he carefully prepared each pancake tableside. It was like watching food artist at work. He wrapped them better than I ever have. The entertainment value was high, and I appreciated that I didn’t have to do my usual poor job of stuffing and folding the pancakes. And they tasted good, too. My friend ordered ordered a shrimp noodle, which she enjoyed. It was a dinner special. She also got some hot and sour soup. Her portion was huge. She took more than half of it home. Service was professional and efficient. The total bill came to $ 27.00 and change, so I’d say the prices were reasonable too. Were I spending more time in Carson City, I would definitely make another visit to Ming’s.

The«all you can eat» sushi is a keeper. For $ 21.95 dinner and $ 16.95 lunch it’s well worth the price. The sushi chef’s are friendly, fast and efficient. The staff is on point with your drinks and bussing of your dirty dishes. The sushi is fresh and very flavorful. Impressed that Carson City pulls off a great spot for great all around ushi. The Reno and Happy Rolls are terrific. There are also plenty of TV ’ to watch your favorite sport as well. I’m always impressed with the cleanliness of the bathrooms and the restaurant. It is very family friendly. No question… I will be back.

My colleagues and I went to this place while we were working in Carson for the day! What a awesome place! I was especially pleased with the menu lunch prices for $ 7. SWEET! I love a good deal! I ordered the cashew chicken which was suggested by our server. For $ 7 you sure do get a lot of food! I ordered egg drop soup, which was delicious! My cashew chicken came with tons of veggies, which was a surprise! Carrots, zucchini… mmmmmm! The meal also came with chow mien, fried rice, and an egg roll. Chow mien and rice was super yummy. I was not as big of a fan of the egg roll. I often have a hard time in general with deep fried things. My stomach does not fair well, so I only had one bite. There was so much food, I could not finish it all and I was so sad. I would come back if I were in Carson!

While in Carson for the day, I happened upon this place on Unilocal as it is near my car dealership. I saw people posting about the $ 7 lunch special and figured, why not. I had a hankering for curry chicken, which was fortunately on their lunch menu. Every lunch special is served with a choice of egg drop or hot and sour soup, fried or steamed rice, and an egg roll. I went with the egg drop and steamed rice, while opting out of the egg roll. The soup was pretty good — had some veggies in it which was an unusual but welcomed surprise. The curry was fine — a nice mix of fresh chicken and vegetables but the curry itself was a bit bland and definitely lacking the complex flavors and heat that I was hoping for. With a little sriracha, it was definitely enjoyable. I wouldn’t rush back here, but for $ 7, it’s hard to beat a nice sized portion of decent food. Plus it was served FAST!

I’m giving this place two stars because the Chinese food is decent, however the rice included with the sushi is horrendous. First of all you get a pound of it with every piece of nigiri. They also stand guard over you while you’re eating to make sure that you don’t try to get rid of the ridiculous amount of rice. The rolls have more sauce on them than a stripper in Tijuana. Basically I’d rather eat what’s between my toes than their sushi. Go to Hiroba in Reno. It’s worth the drive!

My first time so i give it a try for simple chinese food, so i ordered a pork chowfun and hm the taste of the chowfun was so dry, stick together, the pork slices too over size and kinda dry too and the other order was a tofu(i forgot the name) but on the menu is written kinda spicy but when it came, it was too sweet maybe i will give another 2nd try & will absolutely try the sushi

Excellent sushi! All in all, best sushi place in Carson City area. Some other sushi places have shown up in town, but this place rocks as the best consistent place. Staff is friendly, restaurant is very clean. Fish is always so fresh here. They make great cocktails and drinks. Owner is very friendly and the operation is run very professional. And for pricing, this is the best bet for sushi in this area, hands down! Do yourself a favor and try this place. Try the Lily roll! They also have Unagi at their sush bar, so yummy. The sushi chef we had was superb.
