The food was bad tonight for being a friday. Alot of it teast like it was old and bit in to the noodles there were good ones and hard ones. The meat i got was cooled. And the desert teasted like it had freezer bite. We love going there been along time but do to the price we can’t enjoy it like we used to. Especially that fandango is the only casino that has a buffet in it. Tonight was a bad night to go. Hope they get it back to where it teast like the buffet we know. Oh yea, the shrimp tonight teast like it was a rubber shoe. I never leave food or leave my desert uneaten but tonight was not the night to go eat there.

I went for lunch with my friend at this buffet, eventhough we are not a big eaters but, why not. When we got there, it was not crowded. We sat in the booth then chose what we want. I chose the Mexican rice, pork roast, sweet sour pork, potstickers, fried cod. We didn’t eat for the second plate The potsticker was cold already. The pork roast was okay, tender but too salty. Sweet sour pork taste the same just like in any other Chinese restaurant of course. My friend’s Chow mein was meh tasteless. The salad was just so so. My friend had the tamale and she said it was good & a bit spicy. For the price that i paid almost $ 13 and the taste wasn’t that wow, it was just meh or okay for the taste. But sure they do have plenty of food there such as Chinese food, Mexican food, salad bar, pasta, dessert. Well in the end, I prefer to go to eat somewhere else next time for the same price and get something that I really like. I’m looking for the quality not the quantity. So yeah it was nothing wowzer at all for me to give 3, 4 stars or even for 5 stars, way too far for my experience, except if you want to spend time and eat bunch of so so or ah okay food here for couple hours maybe worth it enough for the price.

Recently, I’ve had the seafood buffet there on Fridays & Saturdays. With the Fandango card & the senior discount, it’s only $ 16, a real bargain. Two things though: One night I went with a group & we innocently said we wanted a table for a dozen in the banquet room. Well, an EIGHTEENPERCENTTIP was charged to our bill right up front — BEFOREWEWEREEVENSEATED!!! While our waitress was fine, she only checked back approximately twice with each of us. Also, this is a BUFFET — NOT a restaurant where a waitress has to take orders, deliver plates, get condiments, etc. I will NEVER tell the staff in advance that I want a large table or that I’m in a group, I’ll just go sit in the back on my own. I tip decently, but not 18% at a buffet — sheesh!!! Second — Two times I was at the buffet they did not have the lobster claws or crème brule’. I can live without the lobster claws, but the crème brule’ is divine.

Had dinner on Saturday night and was pleasantly surprised at the wide variety of food they offered and everything we had was very good. Have been to a number of buffets, including some in Las Vegas casinos and this is the ONLY buffet that has offered Caesar salads and Spinach salads made to order. Was also impressed that they did not charge extra for having seafood(clams, oysters, crab legs, lobster claws, etc.) like so many other buffets do. Staff was attentive and hard working, even the buffet/banquet manager was clearing dishes and wiping down tables. The only short coming was a lack of hot vegetable offerings. I definitely recommend this place!

I love this place. Rum Jungle Buffet is right on! For what? They have lots of things that are very good, but what I really like the most are really crazy. The clams! OHMAN they are so good. If you like clams you have got to try these. And for the price, which I think is extremely reasonable, you should go if they are the only thing you eat(and you want to eat a lot of them). They alone make this a terrific deal. But the craziest of all? HAHA! Potato chips! Yes you heard it right. Potato chips. No not«fresh out of the bag ones» but homemade ones, all hot and stuff. No meal here is complete without grabbing a few, how well I know recently when I went and they were out. Oh well, so I had a couple extra clams. Oh a tip, if you go there and you’re a Giants or 9ers fan, say hello to Enrique if you see him. COOL! Very excellent! Go Giants :)

I dropped in here for lunch with a coworker looking for a fast lunch. Buffets, as long as there is no line, are real fast. Get your food, eat and leave, no waiting for orders to be taken or food to be served. Mid week the lunch buffet is $ 11.99, but if you are over 55 like my coworker then it’s just $ 9.59! $ 10 bucks for a buffet, can’t beat that! I’d been here for dinner before, but not for lunch. There is no line, and in we go. We get a nice booth and off we go to the food! Starting at the left I see the fried fish area with tilapia, fried cod and fried shrimps. Then there is a bunch of food, all looking decent but I can’t recall what exactly, like there was some breakfast foods, like hash browns, bacon, biscuits and gravy. Then some sausages. But what caught my eye was the Burgundy Beef Short Ribs. I’d never seen these gorgeous deep rich short ribs at this buffet before. Next to it was beef strogonoff and noodles. At lunch the charbroil grill person will make you 1⁄3 lb burgers and you fix it up with all the condiments right there, like onions, lettuce, tomato and pickles. I got a 2 patty cheeseburger minus the bun. The beef short ribs looked good so I got some of that too along with some hash browns. Beverages are included in the buffet so I had coffee, since I’m gonna need some help staying awake for the afternoon after this lunch here! Getting back to our table, we dig in. OHYUMMERS! That Beef Short Rib dish is wonderful! It sort of looks like a mess, but sometimes messy things taste really good! The meat was so soft and tender and the sauce was rich and full of depth and flavor. This was amazing for a buffet dish, I’d have been happy with this at a nice sit down place. MY double burger was very good as well, with a super nice charbroiled flavor to the meat, you won’t get that off any flat top grill! Service was right there to clear plates and refill drinks. They leave a carafe of coffee for you so no need to ask for more coffee when you finish your cup. Smart thinkin! It was a quick and surprisingly yummy lunch for not much money at all. If you are in Carson City and don’t mind a casino buffet, this is worth the time to stop in! I didn’t feel the smoke was excessive and in the buffet I smelled none.

So my wife and I’ve been to quite a few casinos so maybe our expectations are a little high. The price is fair I suppose, but the quality of the food is lacking. They have what they call a Mongolian grill, but not much choice for vegetables or even available sauces(only one Mongolian that I was told when I asked) The woman running the grill was an older woman who obviously didn’t like her job or she just liked to have a sour puss face all the time. Very grumpy and rude. Standard fair for buffets I suppose, fried chicken, some mexican dishes, a little chinese. Desserts nothing special. Soft serve machine was broken, so you had to wait in line for hard scoops. One thing I recall was being very cold which might be a tactic to get people to leave sooner than later. If you’re really hungry, don’t have high standards this is your place. The only buffet we ate in Carson City, so if it was rated the best as the sign says, then that’s really not saying much. You might be better off hitting Olive Garden or another restaurant.

Decided to try this buffet since it was close by. I’ve eaten at many buffets in the Reno/Carson area and this one ranks near or at the bottom. First off, it was $ 15 for lunch. A little steep but if the food was good I could accept that. Well, it wasn’t. The bacon and sausage were both over-cooked. The Italian sausage was bland. The country gravy was flat. The turkey breast was terribly dry and the ham was very salty. About the only decent item I had was their omelette. I definitely would not recommend this place. Save your money and go to Denny’s or IHOP.

It’s a buffet! I was hoping for better based on some of the reviews here. I didn’t find it. The best bite I had was a blondie at desert. Nothing else is worth mentioning.

Food was decent, but service was slow and not very friendly. We were in a large group, 30+, and our server was older and seemed overwhelmed. Been there, but you’re not supposed to show it to your guests. Slamming drink glasses down and hollering out orders? Come on now. The buffet had a lot of choices, and they made some pasta for my picky 5 year old. She loved the dessert bar, and I filled a plate full of fresh fruits. Avoid the peaches — definitely canned and they were gross. Price is a little high, I guess, but we’re not buffet people; between the kid and I they cleaned up on profit. Husband eats more than both of us, usually! Plus: went to smoke in the casino and won $ 10 on slots. So yay for that!

If you are not local, this buffet is pretty good. If you are local, it’s the same old boring stuff. My family goes at least once a month, no surprises. Food is just okay, nothing to knock your socks off. I think we go that often because there isn’t much in Carson City and we do not want to drive to Reno just to get a meal… Was bummed they took the giant coconut trees out, kids loved them.

It has all the staples of a Vegas Buffet– great place for kids– it has a Rain Forest Café feel to it!

Nothing spectacular but consistent. I really like the Chinese food offerings they have. And their brisket is good. Really liked the deserts though I’m not sure if they are made in house. Whenever I feel like being a glutton. This is my place. I think it’s like 12.95 for lunch on weekdays

Wow. If this buffet was voted the best in Carson City the last 5 years, I don’t know what to say. Obviously, this is a small city! I am way too spoiled by the buffets we have here in Las Vegas. Too spoiled! Folks that live in Carson City that visit Las Vegas and have a buffet there must be awe-inspired. The Rum Jungle Buffet just doesn’t cut the mustard. I realize that for a little place like Carson City this might be one of only a tiny handful of all-you-can-eat places, but to vote this one the best? On the words of Ricky Ricardo, «You got some ’splainin’ to do!» Either because Carson City is a small town or this eatery isn’t that happening, the Rum Jungle Buffet is closed on Monday and Tuesday. Take that as an omen if you will. Also, the price of this buffet is a bit outrageous. $ 11.99 for lunch and dinner on the weekdays(also Sunday), $ 15.99 for brunch on the weekends, and $ 19.99 for dinner on Friday and Saturday. Yes, this place serves crab to justify the higher price, but from what I’ve heard from others that frequent here the quality isn’t consistent. I come here whenever I’m in Carson City for work because it is in the casino that is located right next door to the hotel I stay at. It’s convenient and my per diem allows me to do so. It’s a bit better th
