The best mexican food in Carson it used to be right across the street from the civic center now. its acrossed from the 24hr fitness by the mall. Its traditional style Mexican food. They are quick and always get our order right. My boyfriend is very difficult too! :)

For the most part, i love their food but i do not like their guacamole. The people are very nice. The condiments bar is jamming. They have a bomb t.v. the guacamole is the reason i only gave it a 4.

These were the best wet chicken burritos around till they moved. For some reason the chicken is lacking in the flavor it used to have. Also this is now located across the street from the Carson IKEA now and is much bigger! Hope the flavor will come back maybe its a new grill that is not seasoned yet like there old one.

So I am having a craving for tacos, and the only halfway decent tacos around this area I work in is Charros. I have eaten here before, run of the mill mexican food. Nothing to brag about, but not bad. Food is a little bit on the saltier side than normal. Much to my despair I saw a big sign in front that said… «All tacos today .65 cents. All burritos today $ 3.00» Charros is moving and today was there last day at that location.(01/15) R.I.P Charros @ carson & avalon…

I needed a snack before a concert at the Carson Civic Center across the street. So I decided to pull in here, it looked promising. Looked it up on Unilocal mobile and there was only the one review which talked about Jackie Brown and the bail bond place next door. Not much to say other than that and the«food is great». So I had to investigate.(Why is this place incorporated? really?) I pull in and park behind the building. It seems to be an old converted taco bell. They’ve been there since 1988 apparently. It’s your typical Mexican taco stand with tacos, burritos and tortas. I order the 3 taco combo with carne asada. It comes with beans and rice. With a soda it came out to a little over $ 7. A little pricey for a taco stand I thought. My food was ready a few minutes later and I took a seat outside. It was a wonderful 72 degree sunny day. I took a bite of the beans, the cheese was barely melted, the beans were barely warm. On to the rice… that was luke warm as well. Not to mention really salty! The tacos were greasy, the meat was slightly chewy. The salsa nearly saved the tacos but not quite. They were filled with meat, but still disappointing overall. For the area and Carson City Hall workers I’m sure it’s a fine choice. But when I am surrounded by great places to get a taco, it was hard to like this place.

Remember the movie Jackie Brown? You can see this awesome restaurant briefly at the beginning of the movie, right next to Carson Bail Bonds. Just a little trivia. Right on the corner of Carson St. and Avalon, El Charro has been a Carson institution for Mexican food for many years. A great local eatery for locals, city officials(city hall is across the street) and for a cosmopolitan city like Carson, a great place to find everyone. Parking is a little tricky here, I think there maybe a parking lot in the back. But there’s plenty of street parking on the south side of Carson St. You can’t miss this location because I think it was an old Taco Bell restaurant, you know the ones that looked like old pueblos. Anyways, the food is great, huge and filling. Reminds me a little of Burrito King. Great Carne Asada burritos and tacos. Also, great Machaca burritos. Pair it with Horchata or just a Coke and you have a meal.
