Wow Simply Wow! Walk in customers for table of two Told to be 15 minute wait 3 separate groups of people come in after us Two groups of two and one of four Table of two seated first Then table of four And lastly the other table of two as we sit there in shock we decided to blow it off and sit at the bar Sitting at the bar with no greeting from the bartender for 10 plus minutes as he makes drinks for other customers and is running in and out of the back, finally he greets us and asks for our drink order I attempt to order a strawberry margarita but nope«no strawberry«on a Friday night ok so I order a water in the amazement that I still have no chips or menu and my waiter takes off, then some women comes out of the back randomly asking the people at the bar 4 total including us two for chips in which we accept to only find out they warm up the salsa to mask there ice cold chips that were also stale So that’s was our 3rd strike So we stood up and left and will never come back Just when I thought I’d give this place a chance And for serious Mexican food lovers DRIVE20MINUTESANDGOTHERIOGRANDENEARPARKMEADOWSMALLTHEYKNOWWHATTHEYREDOING

Great place to stop in. Such friendly staff. We sit at the bar, and eat there. Bartender there is extremely friendly and somehow manages to serve everyone and everyone one at the bar in super warp speed. Nice restaurant. Margaritas are great and the selection of beers is even better. Only thing I would like is cold salsa. They bring out two warm salsas, & I prefer cold. So I ask for fresh pico, which is delicious. I don’t think of innovative when I eat the food, but I always leave happy. HH specials available in bar are great! Check it out!

Great Mexican food! Been here twice in the last 2 weeks, great service and fun atmosphere. Salsa is warm, which some think is weird, but I really enjoy it. Beans, rice and steak and delicious! Both times I got the cheese enchiladas and steak taco combo, really enjoyed it. The fried ice cream is amazing! Me and husband just moved to castle rock, we’re from CA, hard to find good Mexican food out here, this place is great! Oh and both times, we had GREAT service, so not sure what others are talking about!

First time here and my wife and I really enjoyed it! The service was great, chips were great, two types of table salsa were great, iced tea was great, dinner was great! I plan on coming back often. I had chicken and Carne Asada tacos, which I really enjoyed. The refried beans are good too. I’m a bit of a Mexican food snob because I grew up eating it all the time living 30 min from the Mexico border. It’s hard to find good Mexican out here in CO. I can only speak for what I had, but it was very good.

Came in on a Friday night to make a to-go order. Greeted by the host right away and went straight to the bar to make my order. Bartender was super nice and helpful! I ordered the Chili Rellanos, cheese enchiladas and cheese quesadillas. Let me just tell you… All was amazing!!! Super good flavor and filling! So happy I decided to come here and will definitely be coming back with the family!!!

Not traditional Mexican. The salsa was warm(temperature) and nothing like the salsa you normally get. Personally, I didn’t like it and neither did the other 5 people at our table. Bad start. We each ordered something different and none of the dishes lived up to expectations. Most were bland and not at all spicy as most Mexican food seems to be. The rice was dry and the refried beans runny. The hot cheese dip left much to be desired by all of us. The only good experience were the drinks which were tasty. By the way the service was great — quick and attentive. Oh yes, the Mexican restaurant in Castle Pines Village on the west end is the same restaurant with a differs name — same experience there the week before. Didn’t realize there were the same until I tasted the salsa, then I knew.

We were looking for a good place to grab dinner age moving into our new home. Unfortunately, this didn’t fit the bill. The chips were stale and the salsa had little flavor. The fajitas were nothing special and the cheese on my enchilada taste like melted Velveeta. The only reason I gave this place 2 stars was the drinks. The beer was ice cold and the margaritas were delicious. If you’re just stopping in for a drink, then check out this place. If you’re hungry, move on.

Might be the worst Mexican food I’ve had in the last 5 years. The veggie burrito was dry and tasteless. The black bean side dish more than even cooked. There are definitely better options in Castle Rock than this place.

Service was horrible. Right from the start we were worried about how the food was going to taste because the salsa had no flavor. The sangria was a cup full of sugary juice with no fruit. The queso fundido wasn’t even melted, super salty and I could lift the whole thing with my fork. We had 2 bites and couldn’t even eat it. Then when we asked the waitress about it she gave us attitude. I got the carne Asada plate which was ok however the beans were salty and covered in a layer of hard greasy cheese that was unappetizing. We hardly touched our food and asked for our check. The biggest waste of $ 60.00 I’ve ever spent. My boyfriend said if he could give it zero stars he would… I would not go here. Taco Bell would even be a better choice then this place.

Good mexican food. Reasonably priced. Table side guacamole was yummy. The whole party ordered burritos but I always order steak street tacoc no matter where I go. They were excellent, beans good and salsa is spot on.

The only innovative thing about this place is how to take an hour to serve tacos… and how to make them bland, salty, and full of grease. Our nachos were served at the same time as our meals, and they were nothing more than cheese out of a can and bland toppings. Seriously. Save yourself money, and time, and hit Del Taco.

Looking for a place to grab some grub, we went with the olé standby… cars in the parking lot… we were rewarded tonight… Blue nectar, was our chosen spot… the place was busy on a Sunday night… We opted for the bar area, as we were looking for the copa soccer game, and we figured the Mexican restaurant would have the game on… bingo…we found a winner… Mexican restaurants know how to make me happy, sit down, one minute later we had chips and salsa, with both mild and hot options. Happy… happy…happy Menu options were plentiful, but I went with the pork and avocado burrito with green sauce, yummy… son did the carnitas, a clean plate said everything, and he was complaining about going, but afterwards he said his meal was awesome., wife did a burrito in a bowl… she chowed it down… they were 3 for 3 tonight… we capped everything with a dos Equis… and sopapilla were yummy… good place for grub…

I’m glad I tried it but I won’t go back. The service was not very good. I asked for recommendations and the waitress just told me what was on the menu, not giving me a recommendation for a specific dish. I ordered the Fried Tilapia, expecting to get a fried filet of Tilapia. Instead, I got a whole, uncleaned, Tilapia fish with head and tail that was fried in a pan. The top half of the fish was cooked properly, although bland. The bottom half of the fish was way over cooked and hard. In all fairness, my wife ordered a combo plate with a Tamale and Enchilada and she liked it.

The margaritas are on point! The house margarita during happy hour is a steal at $ 3. The warm chips and salsa are plentiful, refilled frequently, and just the right amount of salty/spicy. I’ve had the chili relleno, beef burrito and chicken chimichanga(all on separate occasions) and I can say I’ve yet to have a bad meal here. The service has been uniformly excellent too. Prices are reasonable and there is a lot of food for the dollar. I can easily see this becoming a favorite dining spot in Castle Rock.

I’m rating this establishment 5 stars based on approximately 10 experiences. I think it is always important to compare service and quality of food, to the amount of money that you are paying for your food and service. One of the things I like most about Blue Nectar is the Ambiance in the bar area. The rest of the establishment is average, but the bar area seems to have a very nice ambiance. I prefer sitting in a booth in the bar area more than sitting at any other local Mexican Restaurant. There are multiple TVs with sports, and I love the Dos Equis on tap. I have received excellent service, with courtesy during every one of my visits. It isn’t the best Mexican food I’ve ever had, however I think it is the best food, service, and ambiance that you can get for the money, and I’m not much of a complainer.

On vacation from Florida, we stopped for dinner. Amazing food, great service. The blue nectar enchiladas and fajitas were so flavorful. I don’t review much but I couldn’t help it after reading the others. Definitely give this place a try. Hope this helps.

I DONTWANTWARMSALSA!!! But I would like hot food! Been here a couple of times. There really wasnt anything horrible about the experience but the food is bland, tasteless and really nothing to write home about. Ive gotten tacos here and Carne Asada. Neither were something that I would finish the whole plate or try again. Its just meh… and unfortunately, I just really dont have the time or desire to pay for meh.

When the hubs finds a place he enjoys – we go to it as much as humanly possible. The food is good. I love the Vallarta burrito – steak and shrimp in a tortilla. Yum. They have different salsas. The darker salsa my husband and I love, but the lighter green takes some getting used to. We have been here 3 times now. Usually for a restaurant it takes someone coming in way more than that to be recognized by staff and treated like a regular. So image my shock when we were seated on Friday, the server comes over and goes«Diet Coke right?» We were floored, and then naturally had to tell him we were drinking that night. Margaritas are good – you don’t taste the tequila as much(I hate margaritas where you feel like you are drinking straight tequila) but man does it sneak up on you in the end! We have not yet found a menu item we did not like, and with the good service we will definitely keep returning here.
