My wife and I travel a lot and wanted to spend a week in the desert after our stay on the coast. Since Welk has a good reputation for nice properties I didn’t think we could go wrong so we booked it. Was I wrong. I always attempt to give businesses the benefit of the doubt, but there is no excuse for what we encountered. The lobby looked and smelled old. The check in employee was indifferent and the concierge was out of control. Once she finally got the message that we would not attend her timeshare session, she finally calmed down. The rooms are all entered off of OLD lobbies that have low ceilings and smell really musty. The keys wouldn’t work and it took a while for new ones to arrive. When they did, they didn’t work either. We waited for the head of maintenance who finally got us in and said he would return to replace the needed parts… he never did. Enter the room… cottage cheese ceilings… I kid you not… cottage cheese ceilings. 1960’s anyone? The room looked O.K. but had that musty smell going on even though they said it was remodeled. We thought O.K. this reservation is non-refundable so let’s attempt to make the best of it. Attempted to take a shower… no shower curtain liner. Then the crickets started to appear… everywhere. At one point the carpet appeared to move. Anywhere there was an opening(ceiling fans, outlets, around cabinets etc) there were crickets. Dozens of them. I don’t think my wife slept for and hour straight the whole time we were there. When you would attempt to go downstairs you literally crunched them under your shoes. We made it through a few days killing them off until my wife went to turn down the bed and there was a nice large cricket INTHEBED. After the screams subsided, she started the packing process and never looked back. Of course she thoroughly checked everything we were taking to be sure we didn’t have any crickets hitching a ride. Check out… once again indifferent. I should have read the other reviews before booking. There are several cricket alerts! Resort, I don’t think so!

Very nice!!! It was our first time and won’t be our last we stay in a lot of hotels and resorts and this one was very nice and clean the kids loved having the living room with a DVD player and that they could rent DVD’S in the activity room and the kids loved the activity room with air hockey and pool tables and there was a ping pong table outside by the pool it’s in all around great place for a family to stay and we were really excited about having a full kitchen and enjoy home cooked meals and there BBQ’s outside for guest use… It’s a 1 bedroom apartment perfect for vacations. The only one complaint I do have is when my husband got in the shower he asked for a wash cloth and there wasn’t any so I called the front desk and asked for some and the response was«THEREISSOMETHERE, DIDYOULOOK? DO I NEEDTOSENDSOMEONEUPTOLOOKFORYOU?» In a very RUDE manner with an attitude I felt like she might as well have called me blind and stupid so I responded with«NO I don’t need someone to come look for me, please just send some up… thank you» and she hung up on me but they did send some up finally

It was ok as far as a place to sleep. Semi Clean and minimally comfortable not many amenities so if you have no plans you will be bored. The front desk was not very helpful or knowledgeable and actually had no idea where anything is in the city. And most times when we called they acted like we were annoying them and even said why don’t you just look online for the number to Pizza Hut(?) why would I do that? Housekeeping was awful with towel replacement and my sweetheart was absolutely angry that her drinking cups were moved when we returned. Extremely kid /family oriented so not much for singles and kidless couples. Overall not the best.
