Chicken Maximillian is so yummy! Went with a large party and we were seated right away as per our reservation time. The menu had a good selection and they were willing to modify if you had allergies. The server was very professional, not super friendly though. He spoke quick and I needed a repeat on some things. I must have been invisible to the other server who kept drinks filled, as the entire two hours we were there my water did not get topped off. I kept missing him as it was dark in the restaurant and conversation was good. Everything was clean and prices were on the higher side. I would say it’s more a 3.5 stars than 3. All in all, I would go again as the food was good.

This place is a surprisingly decent restaurant. The beet salad was very fresh and tasty. Pasta was kinda drowning in sauce but was still good. Only issue I have with it is really more of a Utah issue(booze of course — I really wish this fucking state would just let people do what they want) but if Utah insists on making Martinis as small as they can possibly be(1.5 ounces), then the restaurant should really be charging $ 5-$ 7 per martini. $ 9 martini for 1.5 oz top shelf is a real rip-off. You can charge that much in a normal state when the Martinis are double the size. Maybe those Mormons are actually more shrewd than we thought… Btw, if you are offended by any of this post, I’ve done my job. Utah needs to get the fuck over itself and let people make their own choices.

I took my girlfriend to dinner here for her birthday, the service was excellent and the food even better, we brought a bottle of wine and the cork fee was only $ 15 which seems reasonable for fine dining, we both ordered the rib eye and it was probably one of the best I’ve had at any restaurant and that is comparing Depot Grill to some of the best steak houses in Las Vegas…9, Envy, T-Bone, etc. I have to say the server, sorry I don’t recall her name, was attentive but not overbearing and very professional. We shared the crème brûlée for desert with a great recommendation by the server to enjoy it with a glass of port, which I really like but hadn’t had in a long time and wouldn’t have thought of. All in all a great experience so just had to let people know! :-)

Looks like our experience was the opposite of most of the reviews on here. Or maybe it was because we had been to a great steak restaurant days before, and were comparing the quality. Don’t get me wrong — I am more than willing to pay a lot of money for a great meal — but this was not a great meal worth the money. Our service was excellent — we had two very attentive staff, and even a manager stopped by — however, the food left much to be desired. My husband ordered the crab cakes to start — they were prepared OK, but left much to be desired in flavor. I ordered the house salad, and the dressing was heavy and tasted like it came from a bottle. I ordered the lamb chops which came with a «cassoulet», which again, had very little flavor — the beans were mushy to boot. The lamp chops tasted as if the pistachio-mint crusting was added at the last minute and mushed into the meat — it did not blend well nor add to the flavor of the lamb chops, which were quite bland. My husband ordered the rib eye, and although we understand having Gorgonzola sprinkled on top to add to the flavor, his steak was covered in it — like they mushed it really hard into the cheese before serving. The meat was poor quality as well, and also lacked flavor, as if it had been frozen. His vegetables tasted as if they were also frozen and then steamed, and then they added salt to cover it up. The manager stopped by and asked how the food was, and he let her know he must have missed the part in the menu where the ribeye was covered in gorgonzola. She offered to pick up dessert, but at that point, we were so disappointed, we weren’t going to stick around for dessert. I would recommend if you’re looking to get what you pay for, try the sizzler across the street. At least there would be flavor in the food.

Well the food was OK, but the service left something to be desired. When we first walked in the restaurant was busy and we were asked by the hostess if we had a reservation in a somewhat rude tone of voice. We said did not, we actually picked the restaurant from the many billboards they have along the freeway outside of town since we were just passing through. There were two seats open at the bar and we said we would be happy to sit there and the hostess reluctantly agreed that we could. Once we were seated it took a LONG time for anyone to acknowledge our presence and even longer for someone to take our order. It took even longer to get our food. The food was good but with the horrible service I doubt we will ever return when we are passing through Cedar City.

I ordered a beet salad. For the price, $ 12, I assumed it would be big enough for an entrée. It was about a 1 cup serving, lettuce and all. It was very good, though. My husband got the ribs and they were pretty tender. Two others with us ordered iceberg wedges that were bitter and had to be sent back. They did take care of the problem. Good food in general, but pricey, and in my case not very generous.

Sat down… waited for nearly 20 minutes. No one offered us waters nor came to get a drink order. We were actually ready to order immediately because we were in a rush and no one even greeted us as our server! Too bad, we had heard good things.

I have to give this bar and Grill a five star for its food alone. We arrived there at dinner time and it looks as though you would have needed a reservation. We were lucky we were able to find two seats at the bar as we were just traveling through. Because of this the service was poor. We will probably go back and try again but not at dinner time. I want to give it a second try.

We liked the beet salad and the vegetables, which were creative and tender-crisp. Otherwise, the restaurant is comfortable but lacking in stand-out sauces. The duck is to be avoided: no crispy skin to hold the too light sauce.

Came here to celebrate our fifth anniversary… And they’re certainly not getting 4 stars for service! While attentive when not-busy, once crowded, our waiter kinda disappeared. To boot, for a fine-dining establishment, the staff was kinda clueless. Dessert was served w no utensils and my hot tea was served w no cream or sugar(not impressed) and the waiter disappeared to his other tables. OTHERwise… The Arancini was superb, perfectly cooked, crisp crust, w a soft-delicious risotto filling, and served with a delightful chunky marinara(most places are clueless w marinara) Dinner was the prime rib… And it was perfect. Perfectly cooked, perfect thickness, wonderful flavor… Served w baked potato w a hearty amount of bacon bits and al dente veggies Lava cake for dessert was a HUGE disappointment. MASSIVELY disappointed! We could have gotten something comparable from Chili’s for a quarter of the price, for f’s sake! I highly recommend this restaurant… But w several caveats to be aware of

Sat at the bar. It was higher than usual. It made it a challenge to eat. I ordered the spinach artichoke dip recommended by Trevor and it was fantastic. Creamy and tasty. It filled me up nicely. Trevor made a good dirty martini. I had the larger filet and it good. The cut a bit rough but was cooked perfectly. I tip my hat to the chef. The béarnaise sauce was quite delicious and I had an extra ramekin of it it was quite nice. I will be back.

This place had great food. We ended up here two nights in a row. There was good service and it was nice to see the chef making rounds and checking on the guests. Would totally recommend this place.

Food was basic and over priced. Service was horribly slow. And if I’m paying for ambience, then why is there plywood on the floor?

We have been coming to cedar city the last 3 years to see some of the seasonal shows. We’d never found a place for a nice«before-show-dinner»…until this year! Artichoke dip was out of this world! I think we would have licked that bowl clean if nobody was looking. We had Chicken Maxxamillion and Chicken Alfredo as our main courses and both were fabulous. We commented as the chef came into the dining room to speak with the guests that he is obviously confident in his food to come out from the kitchen. And close enough to the Randall L. Jones theater to walk and work off some of the food so feel free to indulge. Jaclyn our server was also TOPNOTCH!

As the sign says, the Depot Grill is casual dining. This is NOT a fine dining restaurant. Apart from the pleasant décor, there’s nothing«fine» about this place at all. I can excuse the poor wine selection, no beer on tab, the over priced dishes and the uncomfortable bar stools. However, when everything ordered was really not acceptable, then there isn’t anyting one can say that is positive. Unfortunately this is the only«upscale» restaurant in town so the kitchen and management staff will probably never know or care how«unfine» the food is or how bad my experience was. My $ 30.006oz. medium rare fillet was over cooked. They took it back and gave me 6 ounces of raw uncooked, cold-in-the-center meat. It wasn’t a prime filet. I had a better steak the following night at Sizzler for half the price. My garlic-mashed potatoes were too salty to eat and the vegetables were overcooked. My friend had the grilled Ono, which was dry and raw in the center. The polenta was also dry and rock solid. The smoked salmon chowder was so rich and creamy, it was more like a sauce then a soup or chowder. Being too creamy for our taste, we could only handle a few bites. When our waiter came to take my plate he asked me why I hadn’t eaten anything. I told him the meat was raw and cold in the center(while showing him) and said the mash was much too salty to eat. He said, «ok» while he took my plate and then asked us if we wanted desert. He did not apologize, or offer to take the meal off the bill, or to get me something else, or to even get a manager to speak to me. He just handed me the bill in clueless fashion. So why didn’t I complain you ask — because my friend is working locally for the summer and did not want to confront the management. The bottom line is, our dinners were raw, cold, hard and unacceptable. We left unfulfilled and hungry. We were told ahead of time to avoid this place. I wish we had listened. Hopefully someone will listen to my warning.

I came here a year ago and I still think about the Gorgonzola steak that I ordered. There are not many restaurants that make me feel that way. Not bad for a Cedar City restaurant!

We are dinner here tonight with some family. The service was great from start to finish, and they were very accommodating to our toddler. Our waitress was very personable and gave us great guidance when we asked her opinion. We had the stuffed mushroom appetizer(I wish I could remember the real name) and the artichoke dip for appetizers — They were great! The artichoke dip was proclaimed to be the greatest we had ever had. Most of us got different entrees and everyone was pretty happy. I had the mushroom ravioli and it was verrrrry rich but delicious! There were only a few aspects of the evening that I found to be less than wonderful. The lobster macaroni and cheese was way too greasy. The bottom of the bowl was completely covered in oil. It still tasted ok, but my husband could not eat the bottom portion. Normally that wouldn’t be a huge deal, but for a $ 30 bowl of mac n’cheese we did expect it to be a bit more refined. Also, I didn’t consider this part of my review, but the TP in the ladies room was awful… Single ply is only appropriate in rest stops and mayyybe public schools. It is so weird to me to have such a crappy TP in such a beautiful restaurant; you know it’s out of place when you actually notice the type of toilet paper. Also, there was not a trash bag in the trash can in the stalls. That doesn’t fly in a female restroom. We will definitely be back next time we are in town for dinner!
