Stayed here several times. The staff is very helpful, rooms clean, and no sounds coming through walls. Breakfast layout is adequate with very capable hard working servers. Out in the country location where city hustle and bustle can be forgotten. Gas station less than ½ mile away. WiFi and gps had no issues. Inside pool great for kids. Can be fully booked at times because it is one of newer hotels in area and local events nearby can fill it up. General Manager, Curtis Reitz very experienced, personable, and visible.

Very nice hotel, and I love love the fire pits outside. It made for an enjoyable evening to sit around the fire and relax. Our room was quiet, I noticed another Unilocaler who had noise issues, but I suppose we may not have been there at as busy of a time. As far as my experience though, I was on the third floor and didn’t hear anything from the rooms next door.

I spent 4 nights here a couple of weeks ago, and the hotel is around 2 years old and looks great. I like the décor choices and got lucky and ended up with a deluxe room that is longer than the average room. I enjoyed having that distance from the hall because it was a very noisy weekend with kids with sports teams running around everywhere. The front desk staff were very welcoming and friendly and very helpful with my questions about local walking trails and places for a good breakfast. I also enjoyed the fitness center. It’s huge and has plenty of newer treadmills, elliptical machines, and weights. Another big plus for this property is that it provides very easy access for the great biking paths that Cedar Falls has constructed. If the weather would have been warmer, I would have really enjoyed taking advantage of those. I think I read that there’s 80 miles of paved trails in that area alone. There were 2 big negatives for me though. In my experience a lot of newer hotels are built with hardly any insulation between the rooms and it was very noisy. The doors slam very loudly at all hours, and even when housekeeping was going in and out, they slammed the doors over and over. The desk was right up by the door to the room, and I had to move a small table to the back of the room by the bed and use the phone and work on my computer back there to have any chance at concentration and not having a lot of background noise for phone calls. One night I was also awakened because I could hear the person in the room next to me snoring. Are you kidding? How about some insulation between the rooms, folks? And the bathroom floor was full of 4−6-inch long black hairs when I checked in. I did what I normally do, scooped them up and flushed them, but then I noticed a bunch of the same type of hairs stuck to the inside door of the bathroom. What. The. Hell. Any housekeeper should have noticed this, and any housekeeping supervisor that should be checking on the rooms should have noticed all these hairs. I am done cleaning up after them and the next time I get a hairy bathroom I’m going to ask for a different room. Sloppily-cleaned bathrooms are becoming way too common. I didn’t try their breakfast, but the selections on the buffet looked ok every morning. It is $ 9.95 for breakfast. I did also enjoy that they always have coffee, hot water, and a good selection of teas available in the lobby, but that area did get very messy with an overflowing trash can and paper trash all over the table every day. My best advice would be to not coast on the fact that this place is new and nice-looking and be sure that it’s cleaned thoroughly every day. That way it will stay nice. And adjust the door closing mechanisms so they don’t slam so loudly. It’s a building full of bedrooms and it was like a good night’s sleep was the lowest priority. I paid $ 149/night which was way too high, but there was some kind of RV convention in town that I think combined with the sporting events, drove the rates up. Would I stay here again? Possibly. I’m hoarding my Hilton Honors points for a specific vacation, so I might. But there are a lot of hotel options in this area, so I’m going to look a little more before I would choose this one.
