Ok for fast and cheap Chinese. I was surprised they served on paper plates with plastic ware to eat in at the restaurant.

As fast food Chinese goes this it probably my favorite, I have tried several dishes and loved every one of them. If desired you can ask them to kick up the spice and they will add a little Asian chili peppers. The place is clean with plenty of seating but no long tables for groups. And they bring the food out to you very quickly. Good size portions for the price lunch or dinnertime. An egg roll and wanton come with the meal and they are both wonderful also. A must stop if you are doing some running around town and need a quick place to stop. They do have carryout also, and possibly delivery.

Not a big fan… my mom and a friend went here for dinner. So I thought I would list pros and cons of things I noticed. Pros: 1.) very nice people 2.) understanding workers 3.) cleaned tables 4.) everything stocked Cons: 1.) high prices 2.) not a lot of flavor(all 3 had the problem with different orders) 3.) my moms chicken was not all the way cooked 4.) my rice was burning hot but the crabragoons were cold like they were frozen and sat out for a couple min 5.) they have a box that you can but money in for candy and they candy had mold on it… Inside and outside

Fast service, lunch price has gone up over the years but so has everywhere else. Call in your order during lunch(takes 10 minutes) otherwise be prepared to wait for awhile. Hot Braised chicken and their Sweet and Sour chicken is my fav. They even have tofu options for non-meat eaters out there. Their crab rangoons are bomb!

The Kung Pao chicken was pretty good, had a nice sauce different from other styles I have had. More of a reddish sauce with some good spice too it, I liked it and would try it again. The egg rolls are good of coarse as most places that feature egg roll in their name are, at least from my experience. The egg drop soup wasn’t my fav. The broth was a lil bland and they did have crab, mushroom, and shrimp in it as well. Not my cup of tea, but if you want more of a loaded soup then this would be for you. An okay place that I would check out again if I was nearby for lunch.

Awful. We ordered delivery from this restaurant a few weeks ago. The vegetables were not fresh, the sauces were weird. The rice was a really poor quality. It was ridiculously overpriced. We paid $ 40 for four of us and my kids wouldn’t touch it. One reviewer said it’s like most other fast food Chinese. I don’t agree – you can easily find fast Chinese food in Cedar Rapids that is a much higher quality for a similar or lower cost.

Horrible food. I ordered to go and when I arrived on time my food was sitting on the counter and ice cold. The egg drop soup was bland and looked like whatever they had left over from the night before was just tossed into it. Bland nasty food that I hope I dont get sick from. Stay away.

Egg roll house is a good fast Chinese place, with great service. She always knows my order and the food is very quick. I always order the Orange Chicken and it varies in quality, but most of the times I have gone it is the best Orange Chicken I have ever had. The sauce is extremely tangy and the chicken is perfectly cooked.

I’ve ordered from this place twice for delivery and what you get for the price is a complete rip off and the quality is not very good. Feel like i paid 30 dollars for a tub of white rice. Will not order again

First time I’ve eaten at this location. Egg Roll House started about 25 years ago selling egg rolls literally in a house by the Hy-Vee in the hood. They have long since evolved into a strip mall Chinese fast food restaurant. Most of their sales are delivery or carryout although you can order at the counter and eat in. There must be a book out there with business instructions for fast food Chinese, cuz it’s all the same. The egg rolls are about the only thing that sets them apart anymore. A good lunch choice. The lunch special is any entrée, fried rice, one egg roll and one crab meat Rangoon for $ 5.99. There’s nothing healthy about this food but you would pay the same for a meal at Wendy’s or Arby’s, it’s made to order and is nearly as fast.

We often go to Egg Roll House, but we go to the one on the East side of Cedar Rapids. The lady behind the counter knows here customers! We go in there and she knows exactly what we’re going to order. I love the garlic beef but I hold the celery and add mushrooms to it. Mom loves the szechwan beef and hold the broccoli and dad gets the hot braised white chicken. I’m always so suprised when we go in and she remembers what we want and I’ve heard her do that with other customers too! I love Egg Roll House! Go get the lunch specials! Big portions at a good price. They also deliver too!

The food is good but if you want delievery I would not order from here on Friday or saturday night unless your going to dine in or get take out. They always seem to say 2 hours for delievery on the weekends. If you get chicken, or pork lo mein there’s not a lot of noddles but there is a lot of meat!
