Thanks but no thanks. Ordered a large philly cheese steak with chili cheese fries. The philly cheese steak had me at 3.5 stars because it was great a little lacking in cheese and the actual meat though… but the chili cheese fries brought it down. At the bottom of the bowl you just see a giant puddle of oil. I get chili cheese fries frequently never have I experience a puddle of oil at the bottom of any container, it was pretty gross. I lost my appetite after that. Plus was trying to get a refill for my soda. Nopes charged me $ 1. Thanks but no thanks, not planning to go back there.

Came to the mall to pick up a few things and decided to eat at the food court. I chose this place because I had been craving a steak sandwich. So I order a small Philly steak and I tell the guy I want the loaded fries, he then tells me that they no longer offer it. He then shows me where they have the cheese and then I ask, «ok so it’s just cheese?». No, he tells me, no loaded fries period. Ok great. I get my order, sandwich is okay but fries are pretty tasty, great in fact. At this point, they have me at 3 – 4 stars. What made me downgrade them was the $ 1 charge for a refill on a small drink. Here’s I am thinking, I just spent almost $ 9 on the combo but you can’t throw in one refill? So I go to pay the refill and she asks, you don’t have cash? No sorry and she gets upset and hurries me off. Wow.

These people are incompetent I ordered food from here a basic sandwich went to two other restaurants order food there I collected the food for another recipe for steak escape even finish my sandwich. Then I found out three other people behind me got the food before me and these people had no answer to why my food came up late they do not deserve to be running a restaurant if my son had and wanted a sandwich from there I would ask my money back

Avoid this place. At all costs. Unless you’re okay with waiting over HALFANHOUR for your food, uncooked bacon, burnt steak and a chicken wrap with basically no chicken. My classmates and I came here during our lunch break. Which meant we didn’t have much time to spare. Too bad we made the horrible decision to get some lunch from here. We spent 90% of our break WAITING for our food. The cashier was being very slow. All she had to worry about was ringing people up and cook the fries. She couldn’t even do it! It was mainly the fries that had us all backed up. I felt bad for her coworkers who kept telling her to make more fries but ended up having to do it themselves aside from their own job! But that wasn’t the worse part. My friends steak sandwich was filled with burnt steak. Her bacon and cheddar fries had bacon that wasn’t even cooked! My other friend had a chicken wrap with barely any chicken… Next time I’m sticking with Panda Express.

My friends and I had an hour lunch and decided to hit up steak escape. We figured we had pleeenttyyy of time before we had to head back… boy were we wrong. My friend in front of me ordered a small philly cheese steak and regular fries, i ordered a chicken bacon ranch wrap and loaded fries, and my other friend ordered a small philly cheese steak with loaded fries. –1 star: there was no ketchup in the ketchup dispenser. despite telling the workers, they didn’t even make any attempts to remedy this. one of the guys took out a bag of ketchup to fill up the dispenser… but ended up just throwing it on the counter next to the dispenser… nice. –1 star: when we had ordered, there were only 2 people in front of us… we finally got our food 30 minutes later!!! they were slow on fries. the 2 guys manning the grill and the assembly line, kept yelling at the girl at the register to put some fries in the fryer and she would do one scoop at a time. –1 star: because they were so unorganized, one of my friends philly cheese steaks sat on the grill way too long… she ended up with burnt steak –1 star: my friend that ordered loaded fries… didn’t even have her bacon cooked. the guy took the pre-cooked bacon out of the fridge and just dumped it on top of her fries… wtf? on top of that, she had asked for everything to go(because by this time we didn’t think we would have enough time to eat AND make it back in time)…and they didn’t even give her a fork to eat her fries with. Other offenses: my chicken bacon ranch wrap was 73% lettuce, 5% chicken, 2% bacon, 20% ranch. And the way the guy had assembled/wrapped it, all my chicken and bacon was sitting on one end… essentially half of my wrap was pure lettuce and ranch. Lesson learned, we won’t ever come back here

I understand that during lunch hour it’s busy but I only ordered loaded fries. Multiple customers who ordered after me received their orders with fries while I was left waiting. I could see my the slip with my name placed to the side with no action being taken. I was patiently waiting until a customer who just finished ordering received their fries before they even bothered to look at my order. I would have continued to wait if I hadn’t said anything. Never eating here again!

10 bucks for a thin and bland sandwich stuffed mostly with lettuce and tomatoes, a small dish of fries that’s not even filled all the way. I know I shouldn’t expect much from mall food but this place sucks. Don’t come here. There are better options

I have a job in the mall and decided to try this place on my lunch break. The staff was friendly and the food was freshly cooked right in front of you. Got my food. I tried a chicken sandwich and fries. The French fries were awesome, and I liked the fact that you could put seasoning salt on them. But then I got to the main course, the sandwich. This is where the disappointment lies. I felt like I wasn’t eating a chicken sandwich, rather a lettuce and tomato sandwich with chicken! Hardly any meat and it was a $ 9 meal! Phillly’s best is way better. I won’t be eating Steak Escape again. It certainly wasn’t worth 9 bucks.

We got the flavorless french onion and cajun chicken sandwiches. Not enough meat, card board fries, stale Dr. Pepper. The girl who made our sandwiches was cursing and very unprofessional. Then she forgot about our friend’s sandwich. First time here, never coming back.

I ordered a large philly cheese steak, and it was ok but very pricey. If it had more meat and fillings, then I would have been impressed. The sandwich was over $ 8 with tax, close to $ 9, so it just didn’t seem worth it. The cheese steak at Jersey Mikes is better for the same price. Theirs is more filled and more filing to be sure.

Just whatever For 8 bucks I was expecting a feast at the mall, not a thin sandwich. Portion aside this fast food joint is reminiscent of Philly’s Best, unfortunately, it’s not good. I got the steak sandwich and the meat is not only on the tough side but pretty darn salty as well. With such pathetic fixings and a lackluster bread I have concluded this place was a waste of money. Never again steak escape.

I used to love this place but after my last visit I wouldn’t eat here again until management changes. I love fries. So when I got old stale french fries I was obviously disappointed. So I asked for another batch and it came out exactly the same. Soggy, dark and tasting like cardboard. If they can’t do fries right, what else could be wrong at steak escape. I should have know something was up when there was nobody in line and everywhere else had at least 5 people.

I absolutely love this place! I got hooked on it because of the free samples and now every time I go to the mall I have to get their«grand escape» It’s a tad bit pricey but worth it because they give you a lot of food. When my boyfriend and I go, we share a large and are both stuffed when we finish eating. I recommend getting a meal because it comes with a large drink which they have always refilled for me for free & a large side order of French fries. Hands down they have the best French fries that I have ever tasted! Ask for a side of ranch, they really compliment the fries! I have only ordered one thing from them because it’s too damn good to order anything else. The only bad thing about this place is that the only one I know of is in the Cerritos mall. I really wish they were on every street corner like Starbucks.

First time trying this place and there’s nothing really special about their food. I got the bacon and cheese sandwich. The sandwich was good but not great. I was watching the guy make other people’s sandwiches and I saw him move a trash can. So I’m thinking he’s going to wash his hands then put on some new gloves… Nope! He just keeps making sandwiches. I also don’t like how they cook their fries. I posted a picture of how my fries looked. The three stars are only for the sandwich. I don’t think I’ll be coming here again.

Steak Escape is a great little place located inside the Los Cerritos Center food court. The food here is great and they offer a good variety of hot sandwiches, phillies and baked potatoes. They always have someone handing out samples of the steak sandwiches and its quite good, but I personally come here for the potatoes. The smokin smashed potato is truly a work of art. Baked Potato, chicken, barbeque sauce, melted cheese, ranch sour cream, butter and chives all together = a great tasting and filling meal. The prices here are also quite affordable as we can feed 3 people for around $ 20 which too me is a plus. This place is definitely one of my favorite places to eat in the mall and would get a better rating if not for being located in the food court as it does as times get extremely busy. Give it a shot, I think you’ll like what you find.

The sandwiches are absolutely delicious! 5 stars for taste, but i had to subtract one star for the greasiness of the food. I know i cant expect fast food, especially a philly cheese steak to be super healthy, but still. The fries are delicious(especially with a side of ranch). My favorite is the mushroom sandwich!

One of my fav philly cheese steak sandwich places in so cal and it’s located in the mall! I usually get the Grand Escape or one of the Smashed Potatoes. The fries are amazing to, they are freshly cut and cooked to order. Add some seasoned salt and all is good. It’s cool watching them prepare the food to. Fast and good service. Definitely need to make a trip back soon!

It’s come down to this place being the classiest thing you can buy at the food court. This particular Steak Escape gives out free samples to passersby, and several walk-bys will be enough to tide the hunger pangs. However, if you’re angry at your money and want to get rid of it at the food court, this is the place to visit. Sometimes watching every penny gets tiresome and you just stop caring and want to splurge. The fries here are pretty good, but piping hot, as they fry each order fresh. Be sure you get it seasoned. I usually don’t like having mayo on the sandwich, but having everything else thrown in is pretty good. Oh, and have the onions grilled so that it doesn’t leave that after taste in your mouth that will linger for the rest of the day. Most of the time, whenever I go here, there’s no one in line. Partly moved by sympathy, I patronize the place. By the time I reach the end of the production line, several other patrons always follow close behind me. I like to think that I bring on the good luck to any eating establishment. Once people see me giving a place a shot, people follow like sheep. I should get a cut of their profits, come to think of it.
