I’m a frequenter at this Town Center and I have to take the time to post this because I’m pretty impressed with the price, the portion, and taste of the food here. I’ve ordered sushi rolls at other«not so fresh by the sea» restaurants and this is not bad for a quick joint. The price is pretty freaking good and their salad, their(what I call because I forget the name of it) cole slaw salad is AMAZING! You GOTTA try it. I swear, I keep wanting to go back to the place JUST for the salad but end up walking out with another roll plus the salad. Eat HERE before going into watch a movie at the oh-so-comfy Regal steps from here.

Everything tasted pretty good and the portion size was ridiculously massive. Combine that with the cheap prices and we have a winner. I would definitely come back again.

Two girls were extremely rude & as soon as she saw I was about to enter she changed the sign to CLOSE when it was 10minutes minutes before closing time! I will never come back here AGAIN !

I have come to this place a few times for lunch. I usually get the #19 which is chicken breast, veggie tempura, steamed rice, 4 pcs california roll and sumi salad/oriental salad. Its a lot of food for me! I will usually only eat the sushi and tempura and some of the salad and then save my chicken and rice with leftover salad for the next day. So I get two lunches! The prices are good, the taste is good and service is pretty fast. Overall for a lunchtime spot it’s great.

I love the food here but I certainly don’t want to give my business to some business who don’t give a damn. The service is so bad! There’s a lot of choices to dine, there’s no way I’ll eat at a hostile– like environment.

Loooove everything on their menu. Good place for taking a rush lunch break meal. You can get your meal under five minutes after ordering. The place is quite small, so it will be packed up very quick during the lunch time. But I do see lots of people Oder their food and ask for a carry out. Their salmon is so fresh and I love their oodong.

A place for fast sushi, a decent bowl of teriyaki, or a warm bowl of noodles. There is plenty on the menu and the food is decent. This is not a dine in experience. Very much an easy stop for food pick up. It is popular at lunch times, so I recommend calling in your order before you go in. Prices are average for lunch fare.

I’ve been coming to Yasai for years, probably since they opened since Cerritos is my hometown. This place never disappoints-food is always fresh, quick and delicious! I usually get the salmon or chicken teri bowl with brown rice and cabbage salad, fyi it’s an extra $ 1 for brown rice but totally worth it since their brown rice is cooked perfectly. I try not to eat too much rice but the brown rice was so delicious in my bowl for lunch today, I had to eat it all! I love their cabbage salad, so tasty! I’ve also tried their plates which is basically the same as the bowl with a veggie skewer and two salads instead of one. The tempura and rolls are also good here. I like the shrimp tempura roll. Great place to grab a quick bite to-go, or bring your food to the town center courtyard and enjoy the outdoor ambiance.

Yasai never dissapoints! Food is always hot, fresh and delicious! Affordable pricing on all their menu items and if you work in the area and are on a time crunch call your order ahead and it’s usually hot and ready as soon as you arrive. My favorite is the ‘Teriyaki Chicken Bowl’ which is not a bowl but a huge portion of rice, salad and delicious chicken! Definitely one of my fave go to spots for lunch any day of the week!

My family and I frequent this place at least 2 – 3 times each month. They have relatively cheap Japanese dishes made conveniently and quickly. My go to dish here is their udon soup. I love drinking the broth that it comes with. It probably isn’t very healthy but it tastes amazing and adds a lot of flavor to the noodles if you let them marinate in the soup base for a couple minutes prior to eating. I like putting more of the pepper powder they supply you with in the soup to add a little spicy kick. Another favorite of ours is the yaki udon with beef. Once you open the yaki udon container, you can smell the wonderful aroma of sesame oil fill the air. Their udon is always cooked perfectly, not too soft, not too hard. The yaki udon also comes with a side of salad which they give very generous portions of. I actually prefer this place over niko niko(a sit down more fancy Japanese restaurant) in terms of taste.

Here’s the thing — my bf loves this place. For the price, their portions and rolls are good. I think the chicken for the teriyaki is terribly dry but it works. The main reason I’m not giving this more stars isn’t necessarily because of service I’ve received but what I have witnessed while I was waiting for food the other day. I noticed quite a few people getting seriously pissed because a whole bunch of people who ordered after them got their food ahead of schedule. I have no idea why and I won’t try to guess but I was more appalled at the way the workers handled the upset customers. We all know working retail and service related jobs can suck and people can be jerks, but seriously… if your customer isn’t happy, just apologize and try to understand where they are coming from. Secondly, if there is an issue, make an honest attempt to resolve it. Third, don’t throw a tantrum after the customer freaks out on you and walks away because the rest of the customers see it and it makes you AND the restaurant’s management look really bad. I HOPE their management or owner reads this and trains their staff properly. But after the reactions I saw the other day… I doubt that will happen which is really disappointing because it makes me not want to give them my business since I highly value customer service.

Japanese fast food, No Bueno =( I should just stop going to places like this. I hoped this would be a diamond in the rough, no such luck. The particulars: Sashimi Salad. This is a very sad dish. The greens were not tossed properly. All the dressing was at the bottom. The greens at the bottom were soggy(nasty). The greens on the top were dry. The dressing was very muted. Not good. Then the sashimi pieces. Very thinly sliced and square in shape. Not fresh, not tasty, just a sad dish all the way around. Avoid like the plague. Shrimp Tempura Udon — the broth was too sweet. The noodles were okay. The shrimp tempura was just okay too. Service was fast and super serious.(Relax dude and smile more) Price: it’s cheap, that explains the quality part. Lol. Japanese fast food is not my thing(it seems). More disappointments than diamond in the rough. Pass on this place. 2015 Review #157

In Cerritos and stopped by Yasai Japanese Grill for the first time. Ordered the Salmon Plate for $ 8, which had a Teriyaki Sauce. With this came three(3) sides: rice, green salad, Asian coleslaw. Oh! And a skewer of grilled veggies! Overall the meal was worth the money I paid, it was tasty and I would definitely go back. The only draw back is it’s definitely not good for large group seating on the inside, rather you’d have to find it outside. The restaurant seating area is small and if it were busy it would feel like you’re on top of one another. It just does not have a comfortable cozy vibe. No Feng Shui here!!! By the way, there is no WIFI. You’ll have to go to Starbucks for that. I would give this joint ONE thumbs up and at least worth a try.

Pros: the spicy chicken bowl is great. Cons: the wait is long and the young cashiers are very rude and don’t listen to your order because they want to rush you out of the place.

If you are craving for Sushi, Tempura and Teriyaki but you only have $ 10 in your pocket then go to this place. I visit this branch at least 2 – 3 times a month when I’m near the area in Cerritos Town Center. Another branch in Longbeach Town Center located inside the foodcourt . I usually get Chicken Katsu, Beef or Chicken teriyaki combo which includes California roll, sumi salad, rice and vegetable tempura for a price of less than $ 10. I have tried other Sushis like the Eel roll, Unagi Dragon Roll, Spicy Tuna Roll which are all good and tasty for a very affordable price. They have plenty of choices in the menu.

Eel bowl is so worth getting here! Its like an eel avocado salad with a bit of rice on the bottom. Simple quick Japanese joint. Wouldn’t go out of my way(15min max) but great convenient lunch place if in the cerritos area. Near free plaza’s public restroom. They have an inside and outdoor patio seating. Never been there on a weekend but weekday lunch has a small line. Go to spot for workers around the area to walk to. Located back of bath body works and side of theater.

I’ve avoided this place for a while due to a bad experience the last couple of times I came. I ordered rolls and they totally improved the quality. I hope that’s for all the rolls… My good experience earned them another star :)

Came here during our work lunch break because one of my co-workers needed to go to Petsmart. We walked around looking for a place to eat and decided to try this place out. It’s a very small restaurant. not many tables inside, but there are a lot of tables outside and a dining area that you can eat at. I ordered the Sashimi Salad which was around $ 8. They give you a lot of salad!!! The fish was cut really thin… but it was good. I think I would probably just order just the salad next time because the sauce that they use is frekin delicious!
