Teddy’s Place is definitely a gem in the Chadds Ford area! If you’re looking for a small breakfast and lunch joint in the area, I would definitely go here. For a while I would drive past it and wonder if the place was any good, and one day my girlfriend and I decided to check it out for breakfast. I had the godfather, which was excellent, and she had gotten a fairly large breakfast with eggs, pancakes, toast, bacon, and REAL home fries. Everything was delicious and the portions were more than enough. It’s definitely a small place, so depending what time you go seating may be limited, but it’s a nice atmosphere. You can see the kitchen from the dining area, and you can even chat with Teddy while he’s cooking your food too, if you want. Highly recommended! Check it out!

Not sure who is giving this place 5 stars, but it certainly doesn’t deserve it. While I will give them credit for quantity(almost too much), it doesn’t make up for the lack of quality. I ordered the«Scooter» which was eggs, choice of meat, pancakes, home fries and toast. That and a cup of coffee was only 10.87, which was a good deal. I specifically ordered my bacon extra crispy. It wasn’t even close to crispy and I even left some behind(which I never do!). The over easy eggs were very well done — certainly not what you expect from a restaurant specializing in breakfast. I will give them credit for the fluffy, huge pancakes. These were probably some of the best pancakes I’ve ever eaten. The unfortunate part about the pancakes is that the cook just pours the batter on the grill with whatever scraps are left on the grill. My pancakes had lots of extra bits of other food in them. Someone needs to teach the chef that customers can get very sick from cross contaminating food. I went to this place because of the reviews, but I was very disappointed.

Nice little breakfast spot. I had a breakfast sandwich that was pretty standard but good. My girlfriend had the bananas foster, which was also pretty good(I usually eat half of her food as well), but the bananas foster could have been better. It didn’t really stand out but was decent.

Horrible. Everyone that was working looked confused, including cook/owner. Small place with inexperienced help and cook/owner. Waited for food a long time. Waitress didn’t know what sides came with breakfast(all she had to do was look at the board behind her). Food was finally delivered one plate at a time(the sides didn’t even come out with eggs and vice versa)! We had 4 in our party and I think about 6 different trips to our table finally completed our order. Not sure how you ruin breakfast but nothing was cooked right. One of the sides I ordered was scrapple… it came out extremely thin and so over cooked that it was harder than a rock and couldn’t even be cut! Seems like this was a dream of a person always wanting to open his own little place, but, has zero experience in the food and restaurant business. Can’t imagine any repeat customers. Hope they obtain the needed knowledge and training asap or it may not last long.

Came here on an awesome weather Sunday for brunch. The staff is super welcoming. Godfather is a must try there although my eggs and pancakes were strictly average.

Are they buying these 5-star reviews? My Greek omelet was nothing special — if anything the egg part was thin and dry. I asked to sub grits for potatoes and toast. The waitress said she’d ask. I ordered a $ 3.50 side of bacon that I asked be made extra crispy — no visible fat. She brought my omelet with potatoes(and waited until then to tell me they were out of grits) and a side of flabby bacon. I asked if she could crisp it up more and she said yes, then brought it back almost as flabby. We waited a really long time for our food and a really long time for our check. It’s a small place, but they only had one waitress(probably needed two). I feel for her but she never checked on us and just wasn’t handling things very well. Very disappointing. Feel mislead by Unilocal. Oh, and I gave it two stars because my husband liked his French toast and sausage. He’s really easy-going and he was still annoyed by the service and bacon issue. They did take the bacon off the check at his request, so that’s something.

Great experience. The owner & his staff are super friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was classic and delicious. And it is so clean! It is tucked away on the side of the building, but it is so worth having breakfast here — next time we’ll do lunch. And they’re going to start opening for pizza for dinner next month.

This is a local gem. The owner/chef is very friendly and engaging, and makes superb omelets. Natalie, our waitress the first day we stopped in, was very attentive as well as patient with our chatting rather than deciding. She, along with the great food, ensured we’d come back the next day. Had the Godfather on the first visit(if I had a single critique, it would be that there was little spice in the sausage), and eggs and pork tenderloin the second. Enormous fluffy pancakes go with everything. Wonderful.

By far the best breakfast I have had in a while. Huge pancakes. Simple home fries with not all the extras. The owner is super sweet and really generous. Deffinetly a new favorite.

Been here several times for lunch. The food is always fresh, and the owner/chef is happy to make modifications based upon your food preferences(dieting, food aversion, allergy etc.) He has been working on some outside seating, but didn’t mind one day when I just pulled a table from the dining room to the covered veranda. First Friday of the month he does a special dinner — the place is packed.

Great hamburgers! Fresh, tasty, beats Five Guys(our previous goto). Nice fresh cut home fries, ask for the roasted red pepper mayonnaise. Kids had pancakes and they were delicious. Be prepared for very large portions. The kicker is the service was top notch. Very friendly and attentive staff. Owner also chatted with us and gave us his recommendations. Was surprised to see it empty for Sat lunch, found out they opened only recently. We went there based on Unilocal reviews, and we’re not disappointed. We’ll be back!

I get major anxiety about walking into a near empty place where it seems like I’m bothering the staff or interrupting their friendly chat. But when we walked in, every head in the joint turned to greet us. Service was absolutely outstanding and friendly. Such nice people! We had breakfast, and it was great! My only criticism is that the menu is kinda limited, but anyone who watches Kitchen Nightmares knows it’s all about quality not quantity. We’ll be back!

Casual atmosphere, seat yourself restaurant. The waitress came over in 2 – 3 mins to take our drink order. Those came out pretty quickly. She took our food order then. Food took a little time to come out but the waitress did explain that they had a huge take out order prior to our arrival. I had the veggie omlette, hubby had the bagel belly buster and my 2 yr old had a mickey mouse pancake which the waitress recommended. Everything was great. The ingredients were fresh as if there’s a garden growing out back. The cook/owner came out to greet us and several other patrons. Whenever I am in the area I’ll be sure to stop in again.

We went here on a Unilocal inspired whim during a weekend visit for a local wedding and were not disappointed. I wish I could give 4.5 stars. They allowed me to modify one of the specials to have fresh blueberries and strawberries in my pancakes — which were great! Plenty of fruit. My husband got an omelette that had a healthy dose of peppers and spinach but did not go overboard with the feta(a good thing). The owner/cook(?) came out twice to make sure we got what we wanted and enjoyed our food. The only minor issue was slower service for a breakfast/diner. But the food was worth it.

Waitress was super friendly. The man I presume the be the owner came to the table to make sure everything was satisfactory. The gyro and souvlaki were both super yummy and the fries were obviously cut from fresh potatoes. Would definitely recommend.

Amazing place to go and eat! Great staff and atmosphere. The food was amazing. Definitely a place to go and check out :) the banana pancakes were delicious and the home fries were better than any other place I have had. The veggie omelet had Italian style veggies and was great!
