I give Jasmin a three because it wasn’t bad, but also didn’t deserve anything to make it stand out. The food was what you would expect from a order at the counter Greek restaurant. If you’re in a hurry, and want the Mediterranean flavors without anything extra special… this is the place for you.

First off, no It’s not Med Deli and doesn’t try to be. It is cheaper than Med Deli if you know how to order(platters and such), though the portions are smaller in some cases. Service is fairly quick and the food is reasonable for the price. The setup is clean and similar to the style of a Greek or Turkish take-away /carry-out places I ate at in Europe. There is usually some confusion behind the counter, but it doesn’t really cause major problems.

Came here for a group work lunch and it was pretty good. Service was quick and courteous and the food was pretty good.

Mediocre food, but HORRIBLE customer service. Didn’t know the menu, were inefficient, and rude. I worked in the service industry so tend to take the side of the workers, but this guy was ridiculous. My friend ordered the beef shawarma that’s listed under the«pita» side of the menu. She orders, he makes it as a panini, she politely tells him she wants it as a pita. He argues that’s «now how it normally comes». So we point out that it’s listed on the menu above him, and he still doesn’t seem to grasp it and gets frustrated and starts rolling his eyes at her. So he makes it, asks her if she wants everything that the menu listed that comes with it and she confirms that this is what she wants, including the tahini sauce. He gives her tzatziki sauce. The menu said tahini. She, very politely, points this out once another worker hands her her food, which leads to lots of head shaking, eye rolling, talking under his breath. Then to top it all off, the meat they put on her beef shawarma was then also put on the next customers gyro platter. I’m pretty patient with not knowing the menu/inefficient, but I’ve never seen employees treat their customers so poorly, especially over something ordered directly off the menu with no special requests. Overall, go to Hummus Café, Med Deli, or Kalamaki and avoid this place.

I’ve had a many many falafels, but this place probably has the best I’ve ever had. Chicken Schwarma… really good. Greek Salads are great too. Overall, their food is really flavorful. Definitely will be back, and will be my go-to for Franklin street.

I have gone here a few times. It is quick and convenient. The food is pretty good, but definitely isn’t as good as Med Deli(which costs about the same and is a few blocks away). For this reason, I know some people who won’t go there. On the other hand — sometimes location and convenience is everything. And if you aren’t expecting Med Deli authenticity and need a quick lunch, then Jasmin isn’t a bad choice.

They have good falafel and pita bread is very fresh and must try. We tried it with baba guanacha which is very tangy and we didn’t like it. Baklava was ok. I would recommend this for one time.

We are visiting the area and stumbled upon this place. The staff was very nice in helping explain what to order. They did explain that it would take 10 minutes for the Kabobs. We were not in a rush so that was fine. The food was delivered to us at our table. We ordered beef and the chicken with two sides. The food came out within 10 minutes and everything was fresh on the plate. It is sort of a cafeteria style place with disposable plates and you seat yourself. The atmosphere was nice and place is clean and neat. The price is probably a little higher than it normally should be but then again, the food was worth the price.

Semi bland food, very friendly service and clean atmosphere. A better med. Restaurant chain is Garbanzos.

At first thought it wouldn’t be fair to compare this place to Med Deli– one a fast casual, street food type place and the other is a sit down that touts its organic ingredients. However, the thing they do share is pricing. And that’s where my issue lies. For the same price I could get a delicious meal at Med Deli, I bought a mediocre«platter» at Jasmin. The chicken was dry, the tzatiztki was on level with what you buy in the grocery store. And the fries were fries. I’m not going to ding a mediterranean place for having mediocre fries. I wanted this it to be a good alternative to Med Deli, but you’re better off walking a little further down Franklin than stopping in here. I have heard their paninis are good, but there a ton of places to get sandwiches on Franklin.

A good place to get lunch on Franklin Street! The chicken Zaki is amazing: it’s a pita thing with shawarma in it. You know shawarma: the Avengers ate it after they saved New York, so you know it must be good! Fries are okay as well. Service here is also really good, and the place is both well-kept and bright.

Being a long-time Med Deli fan, I was a little skeptical of this new addition to Franklin St., but I’ve been pleasantly surprised. I have been there 3 times since they opened and every time the staff was extremely friendly and the service was quick. Their hummus is some of the best I have ever had, and I eat hummus almost every day, seriously. I wish their pita was homemade, but I still find myself craving this hummus nonstop. The fries with the seasoning and their Jasmin sauce are also phenomenal. Was not impressed with the Greek salad. I ordered the Jasmin platter with chicken the other day, everything was so tasty! I do think it is overpriced for the portions and the environment, but that is not going to stop me from going there. I want to try some of the sandwiches.

Excellent food. Everything made fresh, including the hummus(the chick peas are not from a can). My wife had the gyro platter and I had a Greek salad with a side of falafel. Both the gyro and the falafel were the best I’ve had and tasted the freshest. The gyro is definitely authentic. I don’t know what they do different but it tasted much better than any other gyro I’ve had. The falafel is as it should be, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. I like that they prepare your meal in front of you so you can customize it as its being made(my wife doesn’t like onions). The baklava is very very good(having been born in Greece I would know). It’s just as good as my mother’s.

Ever heard that joke about ordering a salad at a pizza place and getting a whole tomato, half a cucumber and a head of lettuce? ordered a Greek salad as a side and it was that with 3 whole un-pitted olives, a sprinkle a feta, & a pitcher of olive oil. Took 15 min for that, hummus, & grape leaves with no line. Cost a million dollars. Save the time and cash, go to med deli or hummus café.

The Falafel Pita is DELICIOUS and only $ 6! Additionally, their water actually tastes pretty good(I’m completely picky when it comes to restaurant water). The restaurant itself is big, and the location is right in the middle of Franklin Street. The employees are very friendly and quite funny. Their food is fairly inexpensive except for the sides(compared to other Mediterranean restaurants). The only drawback about this place is that it’s menu is quite limited. This will probably be my new go-to-place on Franklin!

Warp Zone! This place still looks functionally like Qdoba. It seems the only thing they changed was the actual food placed in the serving line, e.g., now, instead of a tub of pico de gallo, you’ll see some hummus. They’ve only been open for two days, so the service has some serious hiccups. Also, it seems like they’re still working out the portion sizes and presentation. The taste of the food was good, though, and it seemed like they used fresh, quality ingredients. It’s just that having sides served on small little Dixie plates that awkwardly fit on the reusable trays detracted from the dining experience. With a fairly generic menu of some pita sandwiches, shwarma, falafel, rice bowls, paninis, and some awesome-looking non-generic«zaki» pressed sandwiches, it’s no Med Deli, but it is probably faster than Med Deli during a rush. Good range of vegetarian and omnivorous options, but I wish they would throw in a little complimentary dipping sauce or something. There seemed to be a decent selection of baklava-esque desserts as well. Falafel pita sandwich + side cost about $ 10. The sandwich had 3 falafels and a narrow girth. Also, some of the sandwich-y offerings come in a non-pita, and I overheard them referring to what looked to be flour«wrap» skins as «lavash,» which is just an abomination because if those were indeed standard wrap wrappers(which are gross and gummy), then they are giving delicious lavash a bad name. Certainly an acceptable place for a quick lunch that adds welcome diversity to the dining options on the«mainstream» end of Franklin Street. And the dining area was kept orderly, clean, and gave off a «fresh» vibe, as opposed to greasy and grungy, like some falafel joints. But if I have a car and the option, I’ll go to Med Deli, hands-down. NOTE: I noticed that the prices on the paper menus do not necessarily reflect the prices shown in-store.
