The doctor and assistant were great. The staff who assisted with choosing frames, fitting and followup were TERRIBLE! 1. After enduring a couple weeks of headaches, I went back. They discovered the prescription was incorrect. 2. When purchasing the frames, I noticed one temple spring action was loose. I was told they would fix it. After returning several times for the ill fitting frames, they acknowledged the temple was broken and replaced them. 3. I’ve worn glasses for over 30 years. I know what they’re supposed to feel like. I had to return FOUR times for ill fitting frames! Each time I had to take off work. 4. I finally gave up and have suffered for a year with glasses which slide off my face. 5. I went to another doctor for my annual checkup(I’ve had to switch due to insurance changes). I was immediately told the glasses I was wearing were too small. The temple was too short. They asked, «Who sold you these?». When I was talking the another assistant about new frames, she noticed the same thing. She asked, «Why did they sell you temples this short, these don’t fit you.» WOW!!! So now I’ve had to buy another pair of frames(out of pocket, because insurance won’t cover another pair until next year), because Eye Care Specialties of Charleston staff sold me frames which they should have known could not be fitted to me correctly. Shame on you!!! After calling several times, all I get is, «We’re sorry about your experience. Would you like to talk to a manager?» I’ve talked to managers several times… they don’t do anything except say, «We’re sorry…» Wouldn’t recommend them at all… and NEVER returning again. Extremely dissatisfied and out a LOT of money due to their incompetence.

Dr. Smith is great, always very pleasant and explains things well. The office staff is friendly and right on schedule so you are never left waiting long. The facility is top notch, clean, and nice inside. If you are looking for an eye doctor I would recommend them.
