Tease Blow Dry Bar

I had a fantastic experience at Tease! Allie was extremely professional and did exactly what I wanted. I was told it would take 50 minutes and I was out in 35! I even got a mimosa. Great blow dry bar for any of your needs right in the heart of downtown!

The good thing about this place was that I was in a hurry and really needed to get in and out! And I did !! But I think there was a wedding party there and it was very loud! I was offered a glass of wine and taken right away! Got my hair washed and blow dry and it actually looked good and I should have just left it! I was going to a formal occasion and decided to curl it! It was not a good curl job as my hair was sticking out all over the place!!! The curls didn’t last either!!!

This place is great! I am from out of town and wanted to get my hair blown out. I have long, super thick, wavy hair, and Kristen did such a great job managing it. I received many compliments on my hair. It was so easy to make an appointment. I do wish they had TVs though with movies on it like other blow dry bars I’ve been to. I will definitely come back to this salon the next time I visit Charleston.

I was visiting Charleston for a Bachelorette party and getting our hair done at Tease was probably the thing I was most excited about. Unfortunately, the stylist I had gave me a very rushed shampoo and didn’t scrub my scalp at all. My head was itchy all night and still felt dirty. Our hair looked great though, just wish the shampoo was better.

The place itself wasn’t bad, but I was really bothered by the fact that they employ hair stylists who clearly don’t know what they’re doing. I was given a very timid hairdresser who admitted to me that she just recently graduated beauty school — and it definitely showed from the very beginning. She washed my hair and had me sit up before she rung out my hair, letting the water drip down my entire back. I didn’t say anything at the moment, trying to give her the benefit of the doubt. Then she proceeded to scrunch my hair while blowdrying it (I told her I wanted it straight?), then tried brushing it out, even though she made it tangled herself. She finally started ACTUALLY blowdrying my hair while asking others for tips around her. It was upsetting as a customer because I’m paying the same amount as the other customers who are getting hairdressers who clearly know what they’re doing — how is that fair? She wouldn’t even finish drying a piece of hair before she’d move onto the next piece. I’ve never stepped in a beauty school and I’m certain I knew more about blowdrying than this girl.
Tease, if you’re going to call yourself a blowdry bar, make sure ALL of your stylists know how to blowdry.

I brought in a picture of a sexy sleek style with volume on the crown and she just couldn’t get the ends straight so she ended up curling it. It looked good when I left, but immediately all the volume fell out and it was flat by the time of my actual event. She kept asking if she could use heavy duty hairspray but then she just lightly dusted the final style. Also, I read the reviews and apparently you get wine here, I wasn’t offered any. I would skip this place and go to your local salon.

A friend of mine went here to get her hair done for a wedding. Scheduling an appointment was easy and their was no wait when we arrived on time. Complementary wine helped to enhance the experience.
The actual service took a little over and hour and looked… OK. It was kinda impish and wasn’t exactly what she asked for. After some on the road enhancements, the style was improved to an acceptable level and we thought everything would be ok.
If the review ended here it would be a 3 star. but I have to reduce another star for holding power. I know this is Charleston weather and the humidity is tough, but the curl and style just went FLAT after a couple of hours. I’m not sure if not enough product was used or what, but when you go to a salon that specializes in creating up-​dos, you would think they would know how make the it last through the evening. None of the other female guests at the wedding had issues with their hair, so the blame for this one falls on the stylist and salon.
Overall this place seems like it could be good for a lot of people, but if you do go here, make sure you are clear on what you want and make sure you feel like it will hold through your event.

Came here to get my hair blown out for a wedding. Ended up getting a tlc deep conditioner treatment blowout from shayla, who was fantastic! Bubbly, sweet and did a great job on my hair while making me feel right at home! Definitely a solid win for an out of town Google whim. I will definitely recommend shayla and the establishment

What a great find! I was in town for a wedding and needed help with my hair. The humidity is not my friend! Scheduled an appointment for this past Sunday, and Rachel was my stylist. She curled my hair and did an updo that was so beautiful. I had strangers at the wedding complimenting me on my hair. My hair is a little tricky to work with because it is fine and curly, but also has some straight in it. Rachel did a great job, especially since she’d never worked with my hair before!
The receptionist was also a gem. I had trouble getting a cab from the salon to the wedding, and she went out of her way to help me find one and get me there on time.
This was such a great experience! If I am in town again, I will definitely be back.

Last weekend while on a foodie crawl trip through Charleston, I decided to stop stuffing my face for a bit in order to get a little primping in, LOL. It was my first blow-​out ever, and Sarah did a great job. I normally style my wavy hair stick-​straight for special events, but in honor of the region, I wanted something a little bigger with some Southern style. Sarah totally got it, and gave me a little volume at my crown, with some nice waves throughout. It looked fantastic and I felt like a million bucks! She instinctively knew not to go TOO big, as that might have been a shock since I normally spend most of my time trying to tame my course, thick hair.
The blow-​out was $ 40, and I added a $ 10 10-​min scalp massage. All I can say is the extra ten was worth every penny… sigh. Sarah also mentioned that it’s one of the few blow-​out bars in the city that offer 2 complimentary glasses of wine/​champagne per guest so it does get pretty packed for bachelorette parties and other special events. I didn’t partake since I was coming from a 2-​drink lunch at Husk as part of our foodie itinerary but it is a nice perk. I was lucky to find Sat early afternoon availability, i only made my appointment the prior day and and had to be a little flexible with the timing (start @ 1:45pm) … since the rest of the afternoon was fully booked with parties.
And Sarah was the one who gave us our recs for our last-​minute rooftop bar drink excursions, so that was a bonus!

Shayla did a fabulous blow out and make-​up for me today. I took a chance and made an appointment though I didn’t know anyone who had been before. I had an important cocktail event this evening so needed to look sophisticated. Mission accomplished! I will be returning for sure.

I was a little nervous going to this blow dry bar based on some reviews. I personally own my own company that does hair and makeup for weddings, so I am super particular. However I took the chance because when I am on vacation, I LOVE to be the one in the chair being pampered! I believe going into the bar, I had reasonable expectations for a $ 35 blowout and style. (I go to blo bar in NYC quite often, and this is the same price). I realize stylists who are working at a blow bar typically don’t have tons of styling experience, and may recently be out of school… (So for those going in with expectation of getting the PERFECT blow and style… You should be willing to pay more and go to a traditional salon… FYI, salons can charge about $ 85 for the same service). I was not disappointed, in fact, I LOVED my hair! It was EXACTLY what I had asked for and described. I will definitely be going back when I visit Charleston! I will even bring a group of girls here! I believe an artist can do what you want. Just help them out, let them know what you do and don’t like. Pull up Pinterest, show a picture even though they provide a book, and speak up on what you don’t like, give them a chance to alter anything before speaking out on an online review. This place is fabulous and I believe in the girls who work here! I give Tease Blow Dry Bar 5 stars. Service was excellent, staff was nice, they have free beverages, beautiful set up, and I LOVED my hair! Thank you for making me feel beautiful on my vacation! I was celebrating my 3 yr anniversary w my husband, so I obviously posted a pic on Facebook and Instagram and got tons of compliments!

I have now been to this place four times. Not once have I had a great blow out — marginal at best. One time a friends was so bad she had the person stop halfway through. I kept returning and even bought a gift certificate for someone local. Today was the last time — terrible blowout and they charged me extra money for long hair. I live in NYC where blowout bars are everywhere and only one (that is failing) charges extra for length/​thickness. To pay $ 45 for a subpar blowout from someone who had worked at Tease for three weeks and graduated beauty school in May is ludicrous. I wanted to make this place a regular stop as I come to charleston at least 8 times a year but no. I can go to a normal salon for my blowouts when in town like I used to do.

This place is amazing! I set up a bachelorette party of 17 (yes I said seventeen) girls and they handled it flawlessly! The owners are incredibly nice and accommodating and the stylist genuinely loved what they were doing. They even let us have a short lingerie shower there and hang a really cute sign. I will without a doubt be returning to Tease the next time I am in Charleston. It was the highlight of our trip!

I am totally in love with my hair!!! This place is a gem! I am visiting the area for a competition and needed last minute «show hair» with clip in extensions. I called around Charleston and drove to various local beauty salons to see if I could be worked in. I know I know, not perfect planning on my part. However, as soon as I walked into the Tease I felt welcome and hopeful. I was even resigned to just forgo the dumb clipins lol. Fortunately, there is a hair magician Deanna that said «big hair» is her specialty. SCORE!!! I got in right away and she worked performed artistry. I feel beautiful and ready to hit the stage! Thank you Tease Bar!!!

One of my bridesmaids set up an appointment for 3 of us to go to Tease for my bachelorette party this past weekend. I thought it would be fun, but the customer service is why this place is getting a star.
My bridesmaid emailed with Tease and scheduled an appointment for 6:15, we get there and the first thing that we are told, you were supposed to be here at 6:00, and that they were trying to go home (The email clearly said 6:15). So she said she would see what they could do. Moments later, one of the stylist comes up and says who will be the quickest because I have to go. So one bridesmaid went, and the next stylist got me. My other bridesmaid decided to opt out because of their attitude. My stylist was nice, but I feel like they were just rushing through our appointment to get us all out of there as a lot of the other stylists were leaving at that point. My hair looked good, but it did not last for long.
Such a disappointment and I hate that things turned out this way. Luckily they did not ruin our night, but they did not give us a good feeling to start the night.

I’ve been to Tease 3 times– the first was okay, but the style didn’t last, the 2^nd wasn’t great at all but the 3^rd time is a charm and it was hands down fabulous! I will continue to go back to Holly because she knocked it out of the park! It’s a great concept right in downtown Charleston. I’d recommend an appointment for sure.

Charleston’s first dry bar! I live in Chicago and blow outs are still on the up and coming, so I was excited to see Charleston had its very own.
I was in town for a wedding and needed someone to take care of my hair situation, so I called Tease and booked an appointment for that day (on a Saturday). The space is very nicely decorated and they seem to have converted a bar into a blow dry bar by having the stations lined up along the bar. I didn’t count, but I would say they had 8 stations, plus two bowls for hair washing. They also had makeup! Had I known, I also would of booked for that, making my whole process complete and stress-​free.
My stylist asked what I wanted and got to work. In about an hour, I walked out with volume at the crown and loose curls at the bottom, exactly what I had asked for. $ 30 Blow Outs– go do it!

Two stylist (Lash and Summer) came out to our beach house to complete hair and makeup for me (bride), mothers, bridemaid, and friends.
They showed up exactly on time and went straight to work. They were friendly and fun which put everyone at ease. They did exactly the looks we requested and I felt beautiful and amazing. I cannot thank these two enough for their friendly approach, professional work and making us all look gorgeous.
The only small negative was the booking of the service. I had to call numerous times to ensure they had the right information (location, styles, time, etc) and often those I got on the phone could not answer my question or provide the information needed. Also they were not always prompt to call me back. This is a little unnerving when you are planning a wedding however it all worked out fine in the end.
