Not worth the price. Much better options than this place.

Stopped in for lunch during s business trip to Charleston. The staff was kind and attentive. The food was ready quickly, came out hot, and was very good.

Just stopped in for their happy hour drinks, which is daily til 8pm. Very friendly staff. Didn’t try their food, but the menu looked pretty good. Rating is strictly based on their HH drinks and prices.

Definitely a great happy hour spot. I also got the fra diavolo which was very good but nothing special. Will be back to try some more.

Went with a group friends for happy hour after searching different places in downtown. Found the listing in the City paper. Sounded like a good one. Walked in around 4:00. Was greeted and asked if we wanted table. Ordered a couple drinks and a couple appetizers.(Their happy hour includes buy one get one apps.) Had a pretty good time. It was completely empty in the restaurant. Once we got the bill, we noticed it was not happy hour pricing. Ask the waitress about this. Apparently you can only get those prices if you sit outside or at the bar. Asked if we could get the pricing because we honestly did not know or we would have sat in those areas. Was never mentioned when we walked in. We should have asked. So lesson learned there. They just said sorry, there is a sign. Searched for the sign as we were leaving the restaurant. It is not very good advertising. We had walked in from King street. The sign is on the other side of the doors and it was covered by the doors that were propped open. Seriously! That is a bit ridiculous. I would have actually gone back here in the future if it was not for this. That is just bad customer service. I also work somewhere that involves giving people suggestions of where to go. Won’t be sending any people in the direction of Joe Pasta.

This will be one of my new go to happy hour places when I am downtown! We stopped here before a show at the Chas Music Hall(since it is right down the street) and we were pleasantly surprised. We sat upstairs and the service was great. During HH, they have deals on well drinks, domestic beer and wine AND buy one get one free appetizers which was perfect. We had a few drinks and ordered several different appetizers(and had really cheap tabs!). We really liked the calamari and the Italian nachos — we could not stop talking about those nachos! We were joking about going back after the show to get more. I will definitely be back(for those nachos)!

Terrible experience! Not only was the food poor, the service was appalling! Was visiting from out of town with friends. My friend and her husband brought their 15 month old child. As we were dining, one of the wait staff, not our waiter, dropped threw a small plate directly in front of my friend’s son. Issue 1. Small plate obviously came out of a commercial dishwasher and plate was piping hot. Who drops a piping hot plate/saucer directly in front of a 15 month old child??? What is the possibility her son could have placed his hands on the hot plate and could have injured his delicate skin? What is the possibility, as that plate/saucer was just tossed in front of the child that it could have broken? Could you fathom had the plate/saucer broken, he could have cut himself? Issue 2. How difficult would it have been to simply ask my friend, mother of the 15 month old child, «Ma’am would you like a small plate/saucer for your child??» How difficult would it have been to simply ask, rather then tossing a hot plate/saucer directly at a 15 month old child? Considering he was not even our waiter, common sense tells me, all he had to do was ask, instead of just tossing something at a small child!!! Issue 3. With callous behavior by this particular member of wait staff, why even have a kids menu, when it is quite obvious your staff is not properly trained in dealing with children? With how he so callously threw the plate at the child, we got the impression that they are not a child friendly environment, so why bother having a child’s menu? Issue 4. GM of restaurant tossed my friend and her son out of the restaurant because she chose to speak up, to voice her concern for the treatment of her 15 month old son. Issue 5. GM claims that this member of the wait staff has been working as a waiter for 7 years at his restaurant, therefore this waiter is in the right and my friend is in the wrong. Here’s a tip. if you have someone at your restaurant who has been a waiter for 7 years for an establishment that has terrible reviews, the problem is not your customers, the problem is the waiter for NOTHAVINGAMBITIONNORDESIRETOSEEK A BETTERMEANSOFINCOME! No wonder he is so angry and disrespectful to the customer base… 7 years later and all you have to show for it, is to throw a hot plate at a 15 month old child! The establishment and it’s staff should be ashamed. Consumer BEWARE… and, the food sucks!

Good service for brunch. Worst French toast ever. Breakfast sandwich was bland. So many other choices in the area.

Service was good, food was extremely underwhelming for the price. Even with a gift card, a meal for 4 was still close to $ 80 without any alcoholic beverages. For a meal at that price, you would expect a slightly above average experience, you didn’t get it here. Do yourself a favor, and check out an Olive Garden instead.

I don’t quite understand all the negative reviews of this place. It was delicious! I designed my own pasta with cheese ravioli and the Cajun cream sauce. The Cajun cream sauce was delicious, not too spicy and was very flavorful. I’d come here again.

Excellent bartenders and drinks, great place to stop for a drink and chill. Happy hour drink deals are good too.

I can’t vouch for the food but the drinks are amazing. 3 dollar mimosas and this coffee drink — chilacinno. The bartender was super nice. I highly recommend for a low key place to have good cheap drinks while watching football.

This place was great! The customer service was awesome from the time we walked in the door until we left. Our waiter’s name was Brian, he was very attentive and very professional. This is a must visit for some great piping hot pasta! Out food was literally smoking when he brought it to the table & the drinks were on point! We will definitely visit again! Great job!

OK I just have to update. The only thing this place had going for them was the bartenders, the location and the fact that they had cheap alcohol. As a restaurant not so much. I realize they only had 2 positive reviews and both included a coupon. So I purchased a bunch of coupons to use since I liked hanging out here. After purchasing, $ 200 worth of deals, bringing others here that would not normally go here, they decide a the last minute to no longer accept coupons. What? No warning, no update. Not even a note stating we will honor what you’ve already bought. I still have $ 75 left, which I have easily spend twice that amount on numerous nights. I go to and they are still offering coupons for Joe Pasta. Very disappointed in this practice. I had a good run. If they loose anymore of the good staff they had and the liquor deals I’d wonder if they should still be there.

Good service, extremely bland food. I did have a very nice glass of Malbec and my companion enjoyed his wine as well(generous pours) and the house salads we ordered were good. Really hard to believe a restaurant with pasta in its name could eff up pasta so badly, but clearly it can be done. My penne was overcooked and the sauce was bland and watery. I imagine it is what Ragu tastes like. I have told many people that it is impossible to have a bad meal in Charleston, but I have now been proven wrong.
