Great place, the atmosphere is quiet and cute! The food was great and the staff was very friendly. I will return again!

Ate here for an anniversary brunch on a Sunday. Not overly crowded. Had brunch here a couple months back and food and service was quite good but a bit pricey. This time around, food and service were much more«scattered»…people behind us complained they didn’t get their food for more than a half-hour. Ours took a good bit to arrive as well. Not sure why two small pancakes at a West Ashley restaurant are so expensive(10.50) with no side dishes. We did get two small corn muffins at the table with honey, but they were quite dry. Pancakes were decent(I ate blueberry pancakes at the table, and took banana nut to go) but again, quite small and not much fruit filling. My wife noted that her panang tofu was pretty good. It’s nice they have some vegetarian options, but prices are a bit high, especially if service and food aren’t top-notch.

Loved this place. Just randomly had an appointment on that side of town and ended up with a great lunch out of it. Loved the hummus plate and the Brussel Sprouts. Great friendly service as well.

I went to the Gathering Café for the first time today. The service was spot on. The menu is eclectic if a little limited, as were the beer and wine selections. The food(I had the shrimp panang curry) was great, although the kitchen was a little slow for as few people as were there at that time. I can’t put my finger on it, but I vacillated between 3 and 4 stars, so I erred on the positive side and gave it four stars.

Love the vibes of this place, staff is great, just found it this week and have already been there three times. Everything I’ve tasted is great! Roasted turkey sandwich, Beluga lentil quinoa salad(once with shrimp, once with salmon) blueberry pancakes, apple French toast. Fresh, local, healthy ingredients make up the menu. This will definitely be my «I don’t feel like cooking spot» frequently!

Phenomenal, healthy yet delicious, never too busy kind of place. A hidden gem in west Ashley. Don’t tell your friends.

A little tricky to find, but it was worth it! I really loved that the hummus appetizer had goat cheese, olives and red peppers with it. I’ve ordered hummus at quite a few places and it was refreshing to see that they added other toppings to it. For an entrée, I ordered the Mediterranean Chopped Salad with Salmon. I was very impressed by the portion size. A big bowl of leafy greens with the perfect amount of dressing and veggies. It felt good to eat healthy and locally, too!

Food is great. Nice to have a non-fine dining restaurant that does not consider French fries a vegetable. Service and space are top notch as well.

First of all, I’m not a VEGAN person. I like my food with a kick to it. However, now I may change my attitude on what goes into my stomach. What a nice place. Food is fresh, plenty of it, and good prices. I’m here for lunch and feel very cosy with my food and the place. Once again, never underestimate the strip mall restaurants. Not a fancy place, but most places with exceptional food are not fancy. I had the chicken sandwich that had a wonderful taste that I never tasted before in such a sandwich. My wife had a salad that was overflowing on the plate. Of course there are many other selections. My only«oh no» is no diet coke. I love diet coke. At least they didn’t try and pawn Pepsi off on me, nasty stuff. I will be back to try the other sections soon. Frank G

The food was absolutely delicious. I loved the tomato basil soup. Definitely will be coming back. Service was wonderful and loved the Sentara playing in the background.

I like the idea of what they are trying to do. Limited, seasonal menu with a nightly special. There were only two servers and the place filled up. We didn’t get very good service but I blame management for that. They really need at least one more server, a busser, or a bartender on Friday nights. From reviews, it seems to be a hot spot for lunch. We might give it another shot for Saturday lunch or for a quick weeknight meal. Not the $ 70 experience we paid for(we each had two drinks with a meal and app).

Where has this place been all my life?!? I stumbled upon The Gathering Café after a great workout. And what a great find it was! It has plenty of healthy options and everything on the menu looked fantastic. Their chicken curry was one of the best I’ve had in Charleston and I cannot wait to go back. I think I found my new favorite post workout reward. Gathering Café, you better get used to my face because you’re going to be seeing it a lot more!

They have a wonderful vegan selection of menu items as well as a daily vegan soup option. They have some outdoor seating options. Server was not well versed on vegan options on the menu and brought out my veggie burger with feta cheese on it, while setting it down in front of me and saying it was vegan. She quickly remedied the matter. She was polite and quick. The food was hot and tasty. Soup was a stew like consistency and had just enough spice. Good lunch spot — good portion sizes for the price. Will return!

It took me awhile to get there but finally did and this place was great! Good, clean, fresh food and great service. They offer vegetarian, vegan and gluten free. My dad has Celiac so I took a piece of gluten free cake with me and dropped it off to Him on the way home. He loves me!

Ordered a Mediterranean salad which was average but added chicken which increased the price by 5 dollars. This 5 dollars worth of chicken was pitiful. It was over cooked, tasted like it had been cooked last week and tiny portion. Very disappointing.

I’ve eaten here twice now. The tuna melt was SOAMAZING the first time, I couldn’t force myself to try something different on my second visit. So far I’ve had or tried the following — tuna melt, roasted turkey sandwich, pasta salad, potato salad and white bean crostini. Some of the items need some salt but it’s all very fresh tasting and very good. The first time my dining companion ordered the roasted turkey sandwich. I had a bite and thought it was VERY delicious but the Ciabatta was a bit tough to bite through. The second time I went, a different dining companion ordered the same thing and the Ciabatta was good so it might have just been a fluke. I won’t hesitate next time to try one of their other Ciabatta bun sandwiches. I look forward to returning to try more of the menu and I’d definitely recommend this spot to anyone.

This was our first time at The Gathering Café. We had a groupon that offered either(2) appetizers or(4) bowls of soup,(2) salads and(2) flat bread pizzas. The waiter started by bringing out delicious corn bread muffins topped with honey. They are some of the best corn bread muffins I’ve ever had. Three people at our table ordered the tomato soup with a grilled cheese and I had the black bean soup of the day. The black bean soup was a bit bland. It seemed as though they just smashed up some beans, added liquid and heated it up. The tomato soup was pretty good. For the salad course we ordered the chopped salad & the beluga lentil and quinoa salad. I enjoyed the beluga lentil and quinoa salad and the rest of the table enjoyed the chopped salad. The portions were quite large– as you can imagine, there were four of us and we did not finish the salads. For the final course, the flat breads, we ordered one margherita and one chicken sausage. The sauce on the pizza was really sweet. The cheese did not seem as fresh as it could have, but was still delicious. The dough was fresh and puffed up beautifully for a pizza crust. The service was okay. There was one gentleman working every table. He was attentive, but sometimes seemed a little *too* attentive. Every time I took a bite, I felt he was next to us asking if we were enjoying it. I am a picky eater and did not see much on the menu I would really eat. I don’t think I’d go back, but would recommend it to everyone to go and try

I came across a Groupon for this restaurant so my husband and decided that we would go their for our Date Night on Friday night. We arrived at 6:00pm and were actually the only customers in the restaurant. Although I suppose we did arrive fairly early for dinner. We chose where we wanted to sit and we were brought complimentary corn bread right away, drizzled with honey. The corn bread was slightly dense but it was good overall. The ambiance is nice and quaint, very inviting on a rainy evening like we had. They had a musician playing by the front entrance. Great addition to any restaurant on a Friday! And although we were the first for dinner, by 6:30pm it began to fill up inside. The Groupon was for«Dinner for Two.» Which included one appetizer or two soups, one salad(we got two half salads), and one flatbread pizza. We decided on the white bean crostini, half Mediterranean and half arugula salad, and the margarita pizza. Every dish was satisfying. The crostini was well developed in flavor with the combination of white beans, sundried tomatoes, and ricotta cheese. Both salads were appropriately dressed with vinaigrette, prepared well, and were a perfect addition to our meal as we waited on our flatbread pizza. The flatbread included all the components you would except on a traditional margarita pizza. Fresh tomato, fresh mozzarella cheese, and fresh basil. The sauce alone was extremely flavorful. I will say however, that although the flatbread dough itself was great, it was slightly too thick towards the crust and too thin underneath the toppings so it lacked a bit of consistence there. The reason I am giving the Gathering Café a four rather than five is because although every dish was overall very good, I felt the need to salt every single one. Every dish seemed to lack a bit seasoning to really bring out all the components. I also wish they had a happy hour on their wines and beer. Overall though, I believe we will return in the future.
