Great place to come to for beer and food. Great atmosphere. Live music on the weekends. Bartenders are pretty attentive to drinks.

On a Friday night prepare for standing room only. Walked in after 9 and band was setting up. Ordered a local draft and waited for a table. Me and my girls got lucky and were seated quickly. All of us starving we grabbed a menu and I have to say I was impressed with the eclectic menu. We ordered a burger. Chicken quesadilla(fresh jalapeño on it… amazing) and a BBQ chicken pesto flatbread which was phenomenal. Parking sucks, so park at Harris teeter. Dive bar feel but great food.

Good food. I had wings. Great selection of flavors for sauces and draft beer. Felt a little like an outsider because everyone there knew the workers and at times I felt like they got a little better service. Great atmosphere and will definitely go again

Bar style and was very busy on the night we went with football games on. Service was great even with being so busy and the food was amazing for bar food. Will go back for sure

Great beer selection, drinks came out quick and ice cold. The buffalo dip appetizer was really good. My husband had a salad with grilled chicken on it that he said was perfect. The buffalo wrap was very good, super spicy, but the highlight of the night by far was the sweet potato fries. They were without a doubt the best fries I’ve ever had, certainly the best in the area! Service was excellent, atmosphere was a bit loud but what do you expect when there’s a USCAND Clemson game going on at once?! Overall I’d definitely recommend this place but honestly, even if everything else was subpar, I’d go back for the fries alone!

Good old sports bar but has live music and friendly bartenders. A lot of screens for sports fans too. Crowd is mid 20s to late 30s and is a bit loud but what do expect from a sport’s bar?

Great spot to watch a football game! If you’re coming in to eat, I would recommend sitting and ordering at the bar. Because this place can get packed, service can get slow at the tables. Always good beers on tap and have never had a single problem with the food.

Great bar in Avondale with good prices on drinks and pretty good food. I had the French Dip sandwich with fries when I went recently. Really oversalted but otherwise was very good. The portion sizes were large as well.

Great spot to go and watch a game! The food is good-especially the nachos. We had the chicken nachos, and they were delicious. They were not too greasy, and had just the right amount of cheese, meat, and veggies. I would like to see more variety to the menu, but we enjoyed everything!

This place is run by a great team! It isn’t uncommon to catch one of the owners working behind the bar. There is great music coming through hear and if you’re going during football season, they have a ton of tvs to watch the game and a huge crowd that turns out for them.

Brian is the worst. Dude acts like he owns the place, but he just moves tables and acts like a boss. Not sure why he is even employed. Why do I still go to this bar??? Well, there’s nowhere else to watch sports. Hopefully someone grows some balls to compete with the worst #1 sports bar per Unilocal

Stopped by for happy hour on a Friday night with my boyfriend and grabbed two seats at the bar. Good selection of beers on tap. Had the nachos, pretty yummy. Definitely the menu of a sports bar, don’t expect anything fancy. Decent atmosphere, nothing special. Solid neighborhood spot.

I got the Ahi Tuna(because Scotty recommended it and I tend to agree with him) and it was good, I would def order it again. When I compare it to other places I’ve gotten ahi tuna price wise, it really is a great deal. I was happy they had Angry Orchard on tap, service was friendly and good. We’ll be back.

Food is pretty darn good for a sports bar!!! Everything seems to be made fresh, they have a good selection of beers, a full liquor bar and a couple of choices for red/white wine. Plenty of hearty appetizers including ahi tuna! They run different specials on different nights. Tons of TVs with a large bar, several booths and high tables also there is a smoking section outside. Weekends they have live music and sometime through the week they have live trivia. Parking may be a little crazy since this area of West Ashley is a hip/happening spot or because there are some serious games on.

It was one of the only places open on thanksgiving evening, so I appreciate that for sure. I always like the atmosphere but usually just go for drinks(1 $ mimosas on sunday!), but we were starving tonight. I had buff chx wrap with sweet potato fries and my cohort had the french dip and regular fries. The sweet potato fries were really good, the regular fries were pretty terrible. The wrap was not so much buffalo as just kind of spicy and pretty watery for some reason(?) I would not get that again. The french dip was good… Again, I do appreciate the whole being open on thanksgiving thing. We’ll be back because we like it otherwise, and I would get food again to see what else they have going on… the nachos that went by looked great!

A bar like this will get me out to Avondale more often(for you tourists,$ 10 can from downtown with a lot more relaxed atmosphere). spacious yet cozy, good beer selection and a plethora of hdtvs, a good bar. The buffalo chicken wrap could be in my top ten bar sandwiches, and everything under $ 10 with a side? Great spot.

We stopped in here after the Citadel Football game, hoping to catch the end of the Auburn game. Its about a 10 – 15 minute drive from the Citadel stadium. We needed to get somewhere fast, and this seemed to be good choice given the location. I called ahead to see if we could reserve a table, they typically don’t do that. However, the manager on a whim decided to do it. When we arrived he had a table reserved, with the Auburn game on right in front of the table. That was very nice! The atmosphere was pretty typical sports bar. I would say more Bar, than sports in this one. They had plenty of TV’s, but the vibe was just more bar, than sports. This seems like a local hangout, with a back patio that had a decent crowd. They had parking beside the building towards the back. I’ve been spoiled by places with a large craft brew selection, this bar doesn’t have that. Though they did have a few extras. I ordered a Ranger IPA, on draft, that was pretty decent. My wife got a margarita, which was small, but good. The food selection was a little different than typical bar food, but still some of the same also. For instance, they had Calamari and Edamame, as potential appetizers. We ordered both, but then the waitress said they had run out of Calamari. We replaced that with some kind of chicken and bleu cheese dip, with Nachos. It was ok, but too strong of a cheese flavor for my girls. Three of our party ordered Fish and Chips, which were pretty good. My son got a Patty Melt burger, again a little different than typical bar food. I didn’t ask him how it was, but judging by what was left, must have been pretty good. Overall, not a bad place. If you are in the area, and need to watch a game, in a decent location, this should work for you. Or if you are looking for something a little different, more bar than sports, again, a decent place. This was around 6 pm. This place might get lively later in the night.

It is crowded for football games but fun. There are plenty of TV’s for your games and if you have to stand there are places to set your drinks. Apparently there is even a TV in the men’s restroom. I think this is sexiest since I would also like to not miss my game when I have to run to the restroom! I am going to start a petition ;) The nachos are good, the wasabi tuna, the calamari and buffalo chicken wrap are some of my favorites.

What a wonderful neighborhood hang-out! The staff is super friendly, the drinks are good and strong, the beer and wine selection are WAY better than average, and the food is PROPER! The entire establishment from the tables to the restrooms is super clean, and tidy. as a matter of fact the ladies bathroom was one of the cleanest, most pleasant bathrooms I’ve ever seen. The Hubs and I showed up at 6:30 on a briskly busy Friday evening. The bar tender cheerfully told us that it was Happy Hour until 7 and handed us a little Happy Hour food menu. We got a pair of beers and ordered the«seared tuna» from the menu in front of us. That tuna was the most proper thing I’ve eaten since moving here from Los Angeles! It was the perfect size, perfect doneness, and the sauce and side salad were well balanced and beautiful paired with the slices of tuna. Happy, we then asked for Full Menus and we ordered dinner. The hubs got the«fish and Chips» and I ordered the«grilled veggie wrap with a side salad». The hubs fish was fresh and crispy, and he ate everything between exclamations of how good it was. I swear if we were not in public he would have picked up and LICKED the plate! My veggie wrap was actually better than most. It was filled with lots of grilled portabella mushrooms, bell peppers, lettuce, arugula, and cheese. Definitely a «two hander» kind of wrap. I have to say though that I needed to add salt, but I am a bit of a salt-aholic, so if I think it needs salt, it’s probably just fine for normal people. The Roost meets all of my guidelines for a great restaurant: 1) they are consistent in cleanliness 2) they are consistent on very good to great service 3) they are consistent on offering amazing food at reasonable prices 4) I would return 5) I would order the same food again

The Roost is one of my favorite spots in Avondale. You can always find a crowd there and usually some live music to get the party started. I guess it quality’s as a sports bar and I’m pretty sure the«Roost» is referring to the Gamecocks. It does have sports bar attributes,(TV’s, Chicken Wings, & Big U shaped bar) but so much more as well. The Drinks are pretty cheap, Sunday brunch, live music, lively crowd, and tasty snacks. I love the Ahi Tuna. It’s much thicker than other places I have had it. It makes the dish more filling and you’re really getting what you pay for. The peanut sauce is thicker as well and adds a friendly flavor. The Roost is in the Avondale neighborhood so if you’re looking to bar hop, you’re in the perfect location.
