Stopped in for a cold and liked it so much that we went back for dinner. Great atmosphere and food. Recommend that you stop in.

Good drinks, great food, and an awesome atmosphere. Went in on a Saturday night and enjoyed live Irish music while we ate. I recommend the Dublin Rolls as an appetizer(an Irish take on egg rolls) and the Bookmaker for your main course.

It’s a nice place — I don’t really care how it’s decorated, it’s festive! Not sure that I’d rate the food as super but it was typical for pub-type food. Glad we went!

Whenever I visit my family in Charleston, we always come here! Shepherd’s Pie is incredible, but my personal favorite has to be a tie between the fries and the soft pretzels dipped in Honey Mustard(seriously good honey mustard). Love the Irish live music and always feel like family when we go. A favorite to be sure!

Went here as a tourist(visiting from VA). Good bar food, but wouldn’t have this classified as a go-to seafood place. Ended up going here due to long waits at other places. I had the beer battered fish — a little too much crunch.

Went for lunch. Had a half and half Guinness. Than 2 regular Guinness. Sat on patio and watched the carriage horses go buy. Had the Irish nachos, that were great. Never had Irish nachos till now. Services were good as well

Do not eat here. Shitty service. Can we please Jeezus get a glass of water! Can you take everyone at the tables order at the same time… no you took two order left and never returned. Had to hunt you down to out in my order… then the actual hostess had to help me then hunt you down. Ordered wings… okay. The she crab soup was disgusting. It looked like cream of cauliflower. It tasted like week old sewage. That soup was served from the very bottom of the pot and whomever actually made it broke The rue prior To mixing in the rest of he ingredients. Ruined soup — should never ever been served. Humus was watery and flavorless. Crap service, crap good.

Absolutely wonderful Irish band. The fiddle player, Christian, sings sublimely. The bartenders are very friendly and accommodating. Rachel made a wonderful Irish coffee. Happy hour is decent with free meatballs. But the piece de resistance is the Friday night all you can eat fish and chips.

I don’t understand some of the reviews. People, this is an Irish Bar type. You have to have the appropriate expectations. The bar food is good bar food. The atmosphere is a Bar one. The drinks are priced and served accordingly. The staff is catering to bar types, late night foodies, and party goers. Just enjoy what you have around you. It is not a 5 star restaurant, with 5 star service to go with it. It is what it is. Sometimes that is good enough. Frank G

I’m giving this 2 stars because the patio was nice enough and the fish and chips was just ok. Well the fish part was good. Fries were cold and coleslaw was made out of lettuce not cabbage — yuk! Anyway, it was hard to complain since our server was absent most of the meal. We had to get up to get our own condiments. 2 of us and he only delivered 1 set of silverware also. When we finished our meal and he came back around, we told him about the coleslaw. He returned with our check and asked if he told the manager. He said yes but nothing was done to replace or fix it. No manager came by and no compensation was offered for our side items. The manager was behind the bar smoking when we left and I spoke to the hostess. Unfortunately for this restaurant I’m a Charleston tour guide and I know plenty of great places to recommend but this will not be one of them simply because of their lack of care for their customers. Messed up food can be fixed with a simple apology if nothing else but it appears the managers at this location just don’t care.

Charleston has sold out full-scale to the tourist thing, compared to my collegiate experience of the lat 80’s but Tommy Condon’s is still a go to place if you are downtown near the market. Now that there is really no nightlife in this part of town, just places geared toward separating visitors from money I suspect there is seldom a real local that eats/drinks here unless it is by happenstance. All the same, a trip here does bring back memories of a time when Café 99 and many other hotspots were near-by and TC’s would be a starting point for a fun evening. Get the Holy City Porter and anything from the menu and you cannot go wrong. Make sure to get off your duff and raise a toast when they play Dixie.

OK corned beef and cabbage way overdone. No flavor. meals very inexpensive for area. Burgers looked giant and good from afar. OK service. Reuben was was good my wife said. I did get a huge pile of food though and it was edible.

Very disappointing to say the least. The draft beers must have been the 1st pours of the day, they tasted like stale beer sitting in the line overnight. $ 1OJ and cheap champagne was a good deal, just using cheap champagne. Food was average at best but for the most part very poor quality. Fried oysters were a very small portion of small oysters with fishy flavor, not fresh. My daughters ribs were very fatty and basically heated up. Biscuits and gravy were served cold and lacking flavor. Service was good but slow at times. We will not go back. The tables and bathrooms were very dirty. My wife handed my wet naps to wipe my hands so I also wiped the table. Guess what, table was filthy dirty! We won’t be back. Why better options in Charleston!

My fiancé and I LOVED this place. My fiancé said it was the best Reuben he had ever had. I had the fish and chips(one of my all time favorite meals) and it was in the top 3 best orders of fish and chips I have ever had. We split a side of cheese grits and I was worried because I’m picky when it comes to grits. They were delicious and perfectly cooked. Nothing we ordered needed salt and pepper nor was it over seasoned. We tend to try as many restaurants as we can when we trace, but we are returning to this place tomorrow for Sunday brunch before we leave. If you get the chance try this place out. I recommend sitting on the patio where you can see the gorgeous buildings and watch the carriages go by. Update: we returned for Sunday brunch and it was worth it. I got the classic Benny, which was not true to its name because it was made with a buttermilk biscuit and not and English muffin, but it was delicious all the same. The hollandaise was delicious and fresh. My fiancé had the shrimp and grits and loved them. I can’t comment on them because he devoured them before I could get a bite. We still love this place and don’t mind the southern twist on an Irish pub.

We came in and got our beer soon enough but then was ignored. When we finally got her attention, she stood at the end of the bar to take our order from the end of the bar. I told her to come closer to take our order as I refused to yell down the bar. The founder and grits were good. We came in because they had a big sign advertising a wing special. Can’t get the special because it was for the evening but the sign did not state that. I think they should have said so. Anyway don’t get the wings. It was not worth it. The bartender was horrible. I would suggest going somewhere else.

We liked it for drinks on the patio. We did not come at meal time or eat anything. The service and drinks were good. The atmosphere was not special and it seems like a rather inauthentic Irish pub. Maybe a pub in name only, as you find so many places. We had a good time, but nothing was real memorable here. We noticed they also seem to specialize in seafood, but we did not try any.

Coming from a local, this isn’t a major hang out for those that live in town. If they do, it’s mainly for a pint. I will say I enjoy this place for two reasons. The Fish & Chips(All you can eat on Fridays) and the fried pickles. They are both awesome. The fish is fresh and cooked perfectly. I usually sit at the bar and get very good service there. I will say the burger is a major let down and wouldn’t encourage anyone to have one. Go for the fish & chips and fried pickles.

Kudos for great service. There was a group of 8 of us for lunch on a Saturday and we were in a rush to catch a walking tour & the waitress was great, got drinks & food right on time. However the 3 stars is for the food quality. It was just fair, no one had a bad meal but nothing that you’d rave about. I had pulled pork sandwich & being that it’s the carolinas I figured it’d be good, but it was just ok. The prices were a little high but what you’d expect for a touristy area.

While they boast that they are an Irish pub/restaurant, there really wasn’t much outside of the décor and a few beers that were Irish. This place is just like any other«Irish pub» across the country. Eating on the outdoor patio was nice. A little loud at times, but the fresh air and the atmosphere made up for it. The food was just alright, definitely overpriced for what you get. While I was definitely expecting pub food, I had higher expectations. The food took too long to get to our table, and once it got there, it was barely warm. The service was incredibly friendly, but as the dinner crowd grew, we saw our waitress less and less frequently. Understandable, yet I kept wondering to myself if it was just a particularly busy day or if they were actually understaffed. I don’t know that I would ever consider coming here again for the food, maybe the bar has more to offer.

Along time ago, in a Charleston far far away, this was where my folks liked to dine when they’d come to take me out to dinner when they’d visit me at the College of Charleston. In the modern day, I had stayed away thinking it was for tourists as it is so close to the market. I am a sucker for an Irish Pub, so while playing tourist my wife and I strolled in for a pint. It has the great Pub feel I love when ingesting libations. The service was great, and the beer was cold. Lose points due to the small pour Guinness. Not close to an actual pint. Didn’t dine, but would return just for the fact that it is the only Irish Pub in the area.
