Hertz Rent A Car

Okay, so I private messaged the information as requested by Hertz a few days ago, but as of yet no response to my concerns. I’ve rented from Hertz almost exclusively going back to about 2010, but sadly (or not) that relationship has come to an end and I’ve decided to use National for my rentals from this point forward. National offers skipping the counter like Hertz does, plus I can choose my rental car so I don’t get stuck with a piece of crap, like I did in Charlotte, for which apparently Hertz could care less about. Hertz used to be the top car rental brand, but I guess that they just aren’t what they used to be. I’ve transferred my Gold points out of their program and into one of my hotel programs. Time to move on.

This location is abysmal and reflects poorly (to say the least) on Hertz and the Westin where this location is rented from.
When renting the car I waited a significant amount of time and it was like pulling teeth. Instead of a walk through of the car we were just handed the keys and that was it. The car wasn’t clean on the interior or exterior. We talked about going back inside but we had already spent a lot of time there. Definitely over a half hour-​Enterprise gets us in and out in 5 minutes and actually has decent customer service.
Returning the car we didn’t have time to review everything or we would be late (I am sure we would be looking at another ½ hour plus). We never got an e-​receipt they just charged us $ 100+ more than we should have paid. I called and spoke to Cory, when I asked him about the bill his attitude was lousy from the get go. He said they found some ashes in the car and I knew we should have known better to rent from Hertz. We both travel a ton and don’t usually rent from Hertz because they hire from the bottom of the barrel and customer service is usually week to say the least. When I started explaining to him about how dirty the car was, particularly on the exterior (and some on the interior) he said they have to take them 20 minutes to get them cleaned… but moreover he just kept talking over me. For the life of me we did not smoke in this car… I can see by the other reviews that this business just doesn’t listen to or care about customers. No pre-​inspection? It’s crazy. I will fight this in any way I can because of the principle of the thing.
NEVER RENTING FROM HERTZ AGAIN and going to contact the better business bureau and anyone else that can get me some relief.

We booked a car weeks in advance and when we went to pick it up they told us they were out of cars! Didn’t bother to rectify the situation. We were now in a town with no transportation and they didn’t care. Horrible service and no prior notification that we wouldn’t get a car. Will never rent from hertz again.

Customer service is nonexistent here. I was referred by state farm to this location. State farm called and set everything up for me, when I walked in and told the guy why I was there he said «nobody told me anything about that» upon checking his computer he saw that there was a car set aside for me. My friend who dropped me off had to park in the parking deck and asked if they validated parking when we got inside. The guy said «yeah but you been here less than 20 min so you good». When my friend left he was in fact charged for parking so he asked the guy to validate it and the guy just rolled his eye’s and walked off. I wasn’t going to post a review but I just called to ask a question about renting the car for another week and the guy on the phone was rude and unhelpful again. The people I have come in contact with here are rude and just plain lazy and have no business in customer service.

I booked a car as I was in town for business and had to run around the city for work. They called me 30 minutes before I was supposed to pick up the car and told me they didn’t have a car for me. Too bad so sad. I asked if they could bring in a vehicle from one of their other locations and they said «no». So when I asked «what am I supposed to do then?» their answer was «Sorry, but that’s for you to figure out» and hung up. I’m not saying don’t rent from here because you’ll get crappy service… i’m saying don’t rent here because you run the risk of not having a car to do what you need to do. Completely unacceptable. I ended up having to get a ride to the airport and rent from Avis.

This is the location I was told to call regarding a rental set up for me by State Farm. When I called them and told them where I would need to be picked up, they told me it was «a pain» for them to have to go so far and that I needed to contact another location closer to where I would need the pick up. I called the South Blvd location, who then told me that there was yet another location that would be better, but this person took all my info and told me she’d set it up for me and gave me the correct number to call on the day of the pickup. Uptown Hertz=lazy, South Blvd Hertz=helpful.
