Terrible pizza. Terrible salads. I really don’t get it. It’s not that hard to put together simple, fresh ingredients, but they seem unable to rise to the challenge.

More like 3.5 stars Service: Like many of the sit down restaurants I’ve been too, the staff /employees are always courteous, polite and attentive without constantly checking in on you. I know this place can get busy but it was quiet when I was there so I didn’t feel like they were trying to rush my friend and I out. Food: I ordered the large greek salmon salad(one of my favorites). Honestly, I was disappointed. Don’t get me wrong, the salad was cooked perfectly(medium well) but 75% of the salad was mixed greens and there wasn’t an olive in sight. This wasn’t worth the $ 16…maybe the small salad has a better ratio of greens to toppings? All in all, not bad but not worth the money in my opinion.

Thanks to Jay, the GM, for reaching out in response to our bad experience. Because he took the time to talk to me about what happened and explain his passion for making Fry’s Spring Station a better restaurant, we will be back to give it one more chance.

We had such a wonderful experience here for Saturday lunch, we decided to go back for Sunday brunch. The Hangover pizza is a must. Friendly staff and delicious food. I would recommend this to everyone.

Fry’s Spring Station used to be a great place to go for a week-night date night, with a very reasonable happy hour special that included half off pizza and half off beer at the bar. This special helped make a dinner out after a stressful day at work more feasible. We enjoyed coming out as regulars to support our local business and used to see Fry’s Spring Station as the go-to spot in our neighborhood. Unfortunately, the new management has eliminated the happy hour special in what doesn’t even make sense if they’re trying to save money given how limited both the hours and the seating at the bar were. As you can see from other reviews this move has resulted in a lot of disappointed customers who are deciding to take their business elsewhere, and unless the management brings back happy hour they can count my family with our once weekly business into that tally of lost customers.

Love love the sandwiches here. Seriously yummy! A Bold Rock Cider with a turkey club is the best.

I’ve gone here for years. Their happy hour has made the place a neighborhood establishment. The meatballs are tasty, and the Thai chicken pizza has become one of my favorite leftover foods. Their pizzas are also generally consistent and the service is solid. But their recent changes in the happy hour specials will make me think twice about going back so often. Ending half-price pizzas during the week seems like a terrible business strategy to build up your customer base, especially when so many of the neighborhood regulars loved it.

Used to be the best place to go for happy hour. I was a regular because happy hour made their prices much more reasonable. Recently, however, they got rid of their happy hour deals and they are now just a reasonably overpriced pizza joint. For the money, I’d recommend mellow mushroom.

Some changes can be very bad, like the deals we rely on being ended. Your choice to stop having the Happy Hour, and the pizza deals will make us think of trying other places. BOO! For this change.

You used to have a great happy hour. Half off beer and pizza, every Monday through Friday. Now you’ve changed it to half off pizza only on Tuesday and only one dollar off beer??? What is your management thinking? Please bring back your old Happy Hour deals. Sincerely, a disappointed local.

NOMOREHAPPYHOUR!!! We used to be regulars at Fry’s Spring Station, often coming at least weekly to enjoy pizza and drinks at the bar during their«half off happy hour» special. Unfortunately, we learned last week that the management has suddenly changed course and have eliminated this long-time happy hour special. Considering that it was only valid from 4:00pm — 6:30pm on weekdays for patrons sitting at the bar this doesn’t feel like an effective cost-cutting move and instead feels like a snub that is only going to turn away regular customers. The bar is already small enough, does the management want to see it empty? We’d love to reconsider coming back to support our neighborhood business, but until the management reconsiders this distasteful shift in policy we’ll be taking our business elsewhere.

Even only a hour before close on Sunday, Fry’s keeps the same quality of food and service that makes this place great. With only the most diehard individual patrons spread across the bar and one older couple in a booth, everyone from the guys cleaning, the solitary server, the energetic bartender and the charming manager, made the rounds cheerfully. The food is solid. Got their fancy BLT, that’s really a caprese salad with perfectly toasted focaccia, and I regretted filling up on the huge meatballs appetizer. But there is always lunch tomorrow for the leftovers. When I wasn’t a fan of a cream of callifowler, the response wasn’t just«can we get you something else» they wanted to know how to make it better. So many things on the menu so little time.

One of my favorite places to get pizza, in no small part due to the fact that it was across the street from my apartment on Jefferson Park Ave. Outdoor is plentiful and great, and the entire atmosphere of the place is really nice. Thin-crust personal pizzas straight from a brick-oven with an interesting variety of toppings and combinations. While meat-based pizzas like the Carnivore and Sicilian were great, the non-meat-based pizzas like the Garden, Wild Mushroom, & Angelina won my palate. My personal favorite is the Greek, which is just spectacular. While the appetizers are on the pricier side in my opinion, you can’t go wrong with Fry Spring pizzas. I find that they are probably my favorite pizzas to order for myself(or share. if you’re that into that sort of thing). Beer selection is also good with happy hour offering regular specials. I tried my first stout here at the recommendation of the bartender and from that point on, it changed my life(Anastasia’s Chocolate Fantasy, for any chocolate stout fans), so thank you Fry’s Spring Station for giving me that experience!

For Restaurant week I sometimes notice that the 26 and 36 $ places skimp out and give you tiny portions… NOTFRYSPRINGS. I always come here with my two godparents everytime they’re in town. They LOVE this place and so do I. The pizzas. are huge and thin crust. the way I like it. And for 16 $ I got a large plate of delicious fried calamari(which after I felt nearly full), a huge. slice of 8 layered lasagna(or you can get a full pizza). ANDTHE. DESSERTSLEMMETELLYA. I hate overly powerful chocolate cakes or tiramisus with too much mocha flavor. Here the desserts are on the lighter side and still decently portioned. I recommend this place all year around!

I spent my first summer night in Virginia here, devouring a personal thin-crust pizza at 9:30pm, with“I Wanna Know What Love Is” blaring in the background. It’s Restaurant Week in Cville: they were currently operating off a prix fixe three-course menu(salad/appetizer, pizza/pasta, and dessert) for only $ 16 per person. +Margherita pizza — fresh, juicy tomato slices and sauce reminiscent of old-style spaghetti +fun remodeled gas station interior with a charming outside patio looking out onto the road –dark: no lights or candles outside –slow service –inflexibility with prix fixe menu — they didn’t even allow me to share my pizza:(saved by takeout boxes as usual

This is a great location for either relaxing at the bar, sitting inside at a booth or outside on the patio on nice days. They have cool happy hour specials every weekday, so check those out. To the restaurant: The patio area had many flies … I would suggest getting some fly spray or fly traps and reading up on how to keep flies at bay. I read that planting some mint, basil or lavender can help because they don’t like those scents. The food I’ve had was good. It’s just a great little spot to hang out with friends. The employees have been friendly & the crowd that goes there seems relaxed. Don’t be intimidated by parking. Yes, it’s off-street, but pay attention to the signs and there’s actually plenty of parking if you don’t mind walking a block or so. I’ve never not been able to park. All in all, give it a try!

I have been to Fry Spring Station a few times and have found it to be enjoyable enough. In the summer they have a really nice, pet-friendly patio, which is my favorite time to come. On my last visit, there was a ton of confusion with the hostess, who was not extremely friendly and seemed very overwhelmed by her job. I used to hostess at a very busy restaurant; however, it is not best practice to take out your frustration or ignore customers. The server we had that evening was really friendly and funny, so he made up for the negative experience with the hostess. We came with another couple, and each ordered a pizza for ourselves. There were several modifications to the pizzas that they were very willing to do. The herbivore with red sauce(a modification) was for me, and the buffalo chicken pizza was for him. My pizza was underwhelming, and if I ordered it again, I would probably stick to the white sauce that it originally comes with. I stole a piece of the buffalo chicken pizza and loved it! It had just the right balance of heat and cheese! If there is another visit, that is definitely what I’m ordering. On another visit, I tried the calamari and found it to be very salty, so that is why I skipped it this time. This is definitely not my favorite place to get pizza in Cville, but it does the trick and is the nicest place to dine that is nearby to my home. I was wavering on giving it three stars, but I think it has potential and rounded up from 3.5 to 4 stars. I would sum it up by saying Fry Spring Station is a nice place to go for a casual meal and to sit on the patio with Fido.

Pros: — Good food(try the Nonna’s Meatballs appetizer, Fontaine White pizza, or Fry’s Supremo pizza) — They are good about substituting toppings, etc. Cons: — Difficult parking during busy times(street parking) — Sloooow service when they’re busy(which is often)

I rarely write reviews, I felt cheated tonight and want to share the experience. My girlfriend and I came for restaurant week and to try out the food and see what they had. Restaurant week should be the perfect chance for a participating restaurant to show off what they have and what kind of establishment they are, but Fry’ Spring Station failed miserably. After seating is they provided us with the regular menus and did not even mention having specials for the special week. We had to ask for the restaurant week menu later on. Once we got the menu, our waitress informed us that they were out of a variety of items. You would think that a restaurant would stock up on the items that will be included in an ongoing special. We went on the second night of the 7, so they shouldn’t have run out. The salad that my girlfriend got was literally 3 pieces of lettuce on a plate with some Caesar dressing and Parmesan cheese… 3! My appetiser and pizza were fairly good, but my girlfriend’s pasta was extremely undersized as well. It may have been acceptable as a lunch portion. The most upsetting part of the meal was that the waitress brought us our desert 5 minutes after she brought our main course. I got the brownie sundae, so if I was going to finish my main course then the ice cream would have been all melted and the brownie cold, so I asked for a box after only getting to eat one slice of the pizza. The desert portions were unacceptably small also. The amount of ice cream in my ice cream sundae was ¼ of a scoop at best. In all, this has been a horrible experience and I’m not coming back. Fry’s Spring Station has completely messed up the golden opportunity restaurant week offers to attract new customers.

Overall, this restaurant was great! The staff was nice and helpful, and their food had a lot of flavor. I suggest getting the house dressing on your salad. It has a lemon citrus sweet taste. Also, if your thinking about getting a sandwich the Muffeleta is very good! The environment is great. I ate outside on the patio and, despite some car noises on the road, the view is pretty and the area is decorated beautifully. I recommend this place for lunch, and the portions are somewhat large so sharing with a partner would be a good choice.
