Pretty good… I ordered the deli sandwich and salad bar My had the California deli with fruit. The staff was friendly and the place was pretty clean. I will definitely return with the kiddos and free ice cream and complementary muffin bar is a plus

I so wanted this to be good. The menu sounds amazing. Too many options. I finally settled on the turkey panini and tortilla soup. The soup was okay. The sandwich was bland. Even with bacon and thousand island dressing there was just no flavor. Disappointing!

This restaurant has a brisk business when I go and my usual gumbo is passable, but I made mistake of ordering the shrimp and mango on quinoa salad last visit. Don’t waste your money – 3 tasteless baby shrimp, tasteless specks of mango hidden in quinoa, no sauce or pico de gallo as described on menu.

We’ve been regular customers of Jason’s since it opened in Charlottesville. I fear for its future here. The other day I ordered a New Yorker original to go and onion soup, my usual sandwich. ¾ lb of deli meat and cheese on rye. When I opened it at home, instead of being on a large slab of rye as it has always been, it was on a half-size slice of cardboard-quality wheat bread that might be found at a middle school cafeteria serving food from the lowest bidder. This awful bread held half the meat this sandwich had before the recent price increase. And the onion soup, a masterpiece otherwise, was now stingy with the cheese. When restaurants fall below past performance it’s often a sign their days are numbered. Can Jason’s get back on track? I sent an email about this to company headquarters 8 days ago. There was no response.

Best kids menu and prices! We love getting take out in the summer and going to the park. Great selection of fruit and healthy options and, of course, free ice cream for everyone!

After giving this place multiple tries I will never be back. On every occasion I have waited 20+ minutes for my food, even when I have placed online to-go orders. The variety of options and quality of food use to be the biggest draw for me, well after today’s limp salad that was missing ingredients and visibly rotting strawberries there is nothing redeeming left in this place.

Great food and good selection! The manager came and greeted us at the register and gave us suggestions for what to order(as this was our first time eating at a Jason’s Deli). Food was cooked quickly and as ordered. Great salad bar with a lot of options! Offers gluten free!

2 words come to mind when I hear the words«Jason’s Deli», they are overprice and overrated. Only reason I would consider getting food from this place is the free ice cream. 10 $ for a small sandwich you can make at home for 50 cents. This is degrading and pure savagery by this Jason. Also why do they give you the same type of chips every time? Stop trying to be fancy and just be simple like Subway. It’s really that simple.

Monday afternoon after lunch time when the restaurant is mostly empty. Long wait for food. Tables that need to be bussed left alone the whole time we were there. Workers gossiping loudly in front of customers Very dirty floors Vanilla ice cream machine broken. Overall bad experience.

This was by far the worst Jason’s Deli experience my family has ever had. The restaurant was dirty, the service slow and the food was meh. The GF bread they use was dry and falling apart and the sandwiches were thrown together all slap dash. The salad bar was missing eggs and the ice cream machine only had chocolate. As if to make matters worse the staff were in the booth next to us talking about back room drama and«she in da back cryin» and laughing about it. Really people be professional get your work done. The two polo shirted manager types were also just hanging out and talking. Numerous dirty plates on tables with no one cleaning up too. Total fail repeat total fail.

Stop here every time we come through Charlottesville. The Cuban Press is excellent. While I don’t remember what I had before, it was always a sandwich which turned out great.

3 adults, 2 kids. Each ordered something completely different. 3 of the 5 extremely picky. All 5 of us were very pleased with our meals. They looked delicious and even colorful with the veggie cups. They tasted fantastic. I am a sandwich lover. My Club Royal was so good. So juicy and that croissant it was on was fabulous. This was our first time at Jason’s Deli. We were confused at first and sat down with no drinks though we ordered them and when our food was brought to us, we asked how to get our drinks. Come to find out, the guy who brought us our food was the manager and he went and got the drinks we ordered for us. AND he got us the ketchup too! Very nice guy but it is indeed a very large place. A very busy place. A very loud place.(just chatter volume) and all that makes it a bit confusing for a first timer. It happens. We survived. We enjoyed it very much and, 2 of the 5 gave 4 thumbs up on the free ice cream.

Let me say the service here really goes down on the weekend, I came in on a Sunday now this is normally one of my favorite places on Charlottesville, but the server said they were out of strawberry shortcake and she would be willing to make me one but no one had bothered to make whipped cream so she couldn’t but I could have complimentary ice cream but of course no one had bothered to fill it so chocolate was out and swirl was out so only option was vanilla, this is not the service you usually received but I guess on the weekend it’s just a bunch of kids fooling around and the restaurant was not even busy

My Dad and I have been here a few times for lunch/dinner. Our dishes have always been tasty. The staff is always friendly. They have a great salad bar in the back. Good variety on it. Their roasted red pepper hummus is some of the best I’ve ever had. The seating area kinda feels like a big cafeteria. There are booths and tables. I wouldn’t describe it as an intimate setting. But that’s cool because that’s not what they’re trying to be. It’s a deli not a fine dining experience. Would love it if they expanded their vegetarian options. My Dad is a vegetarian and his choices are pretty limited to the baked potato with broccoli and cheese(which is huge!) or the zucchini/veggie sandwich. He’s not a picky eater though so he doesn’t really mind.

Large warehouse restaurant looking place inside! For a first timer like me it might me a bit confusing how to order but the friendly lady at the ordering spot helped me out! If it really matters… From the time of order till receiving my sandwich was approximately 8 mins… The pastrami sandwich was delicious and she said don’t forget the free garlic, muffins and ice cream at the back… Nice touch for the hungry and bedraggled! Hope to be back again someday!

We’ve been to Jason’s twice now & haven’t been disappointed yet. The pastrami is good. The Spicy Gumbo a must. My wife had the Wild Salmon w/Steamed veggies & Tomato Basil soup & was very happy. Staff has always been very friendly & helpful.

Really good sandwiches. good fresh salad bar. comfortable casual fine dining experience. Similar to Panera bread but that is in no way a negative comment.

I don’t know what to say about Jason’s other than I just tried it for the second time, and for the second time, they got my order wrong. The first time they outright just made and brought me the wrong sandwich. This time, I asked for a Muffuletta, and when they brought it out, there was no olive spread on it(which is kind of a requirement for a muffuletta). I took it to the counter, and they said they would make me another one, so I waited about 10 minutes, and they never made another one, so I left. The experience was not so bad as to be laughable(Buffalo Wild Wings) but I left in a state of general bewilderment. When I said the sandwich didn’t have olives on it the girl asked«really?» as if I had scraped the spread off and eaten it plain. I’m just going to charge them back at this point since trying to get them to fix my order did not work and I do not really have an hour to wait for a sandwich, so shame on me, I guess, for trying this place again.

Jason’s is exactly what you would expect: a place where you can get sandwiches and salads. But so much better. The sandwiches are creative, but there’s also simple selections for those who are more picky. They aren’t too expensive either. But the real draw is the salad bar. Come early and load up on all of the delicious veggies that Jason’s has to offer. Oh, and help yourself to some free ice cream after. That’s right. Free ice cream! Jason’s is my kind of place.
