I stumbled on this place today when looking to pick up something fast but not Fast Food. Not only was the sammie delicious but the restaurant concept is unique and fun.(I won’t hold the Fox News playing on the TV against them.) Ask a lot of questions when you first go, because you’ll definitely have them. Like the sushi bar where you tick boxes on a slip for your order, here you mark up a paper bag with your sandwich ingredients, add-ons, etc., and you hand it to the cashier. They make the sammie and hand it to you in the bag you wrote on. Think: Jimmy Johns, but without the brain-challenged workers and dirty floor. It’s also a fun place inside, with a place for chirrin to hang out and draw. Like I said: the proof is in the sammie. it was delicious. highly recommend the skinny version of the sammy where they make it with less bread.

good sandwich spot, although im still partial to firehouse we got the roast beef with anjou and used the check ins to get our cookies! we split one of the giant subs, i was full but big guy was not, so take that for what its worth price: 12 bucks, not bad considering we split the wich parking-lot and its free counter service is friendly, young kids who are nice overall its pretty good. the place is good and better than little johns

They have always given excellent service. Their prices maybe a little pricey but that’s fine because the food is worth it. Their vegetables and meat are the best on sandwiches. Way better than the quality of subway. I wish there were more in the area.

The food was alright. However, they had Fox News on both televisions the whole time, and refused to change the channel or turn off the tv when I asked. So I will not be coming back. But the sandwich was ok; not great, but solidly ok.

I’ve been here a few times, tried different options and I’m not impressed. Last time I ordered a chicken Parmesan sub Hotwich with lettuce and tomatoes. I bit into the sandwich and it was cold and I noticed it was shredded chicken not a filet. There isn’t anything great about their food.

So get this, I came in on a whim during a lunch break thinking it would be a slow Wednesday meal. Sike. This place was packed! On a Wednesday! My interest was definitely piqued so I wandered over to the menu board conveniently located above a row of numbered paper bags. Turns out those numbered bags are their method of sandwich selection. Depending on the number determined the style and type of sandwich you wanted. Cool. At this point, noticing my look of indecision, who I believe was the manager came over, greeted me, and asked if I had been there before: Nope. So he enthusiastically explained their sandwich system and new menu items. Normally I shy away from menu explanations because I like the challenge of intuitive navigation, but his friendly demeanor and cheerfulness was pleasant so I didn’t mind. I ordered the #9, the seafood genre if you will, and selected tuna, no cheese, with all the complimentary vegetables I could check off the list. I caved and threw in a bag of house chips with and a chocolate chip cookie. Well, because I could. I’m an adult dog-nabbit! I’ll eat my cookie and I’ll like it. The sandwich came out in under 10 minutes, the ladies behind the counter were really friendly and accidentally made two cookies so I ended up with an extra one. Sugar rush achieved. Did I mention I ordered the 14 inch because I thought it was a good idea at the time? Yeah, well that thing was the size of a baby when it came out. I had to carry it with two hands. So what if they may have been two tiny hands, but it took two hands! The tuna itself was awesome. It reminded me of a huge Pot Belly’s sandwich with way more stuff. The veggies were fresh tasting, the tuna came in huge servings, and the sauces and spices I selected were zesty, spicy, and a dash of sweet. All in all, I liked my meal, and am coming back. …Probably not for awhile though because that 14 inch sandwich was enough to feed me for 3 straight days.

Everyone giving negative reviews of this place on here sound like the food critic from Chef. Good lord, it’s a sandwich. I don’t know what you want them to do differently. You’re gonna have a tough time finding a better sandwich in Mr. Jefferson’s town, the Market being a possible exception. It can be a little pricey but just get the small size — believe me, you don’t need the calories, sweetie.

Just paid $ 12+ for a sandwich chips and a soda, damn they are pricy!!! The chips were ok, nothing special and I can say the sandwich was the same. First time here, don’t think I’ll be coming back!

Once I moved to Charlottesville, I was told to eat at Which Wich… Love that all I need to do check what I want on a paper bag, no confusion on what I asked for. And their shakes are great, you can mix the flavors up too. Quick w/the food. I go often :)

Very cute place ! Walk in, pick your sandwich then correlating bag. Check all the extra things you want and pay then watch as they make your wich and slide it down the line. My sandwich was great tasting but it wasn’t what I ordered. And it was very crowded and tough to find a spot to sit ha. All in all minor complaints :)

First time visitor, definitely will be returning. Delicious Elvis sandwich! Yum! My friend got the Meatball Grinder and loved it too. The staff was friendly and helpful with the cool ordering process.

Confusion! Confusion! I don’t like places with a lot of processes and a million options. There’s some weird process where you grab a bag, pick your sandwich but then continue to customize it further by circling and writing exactly what you want on the bag. I don’t want to do all that. I want to point and receive. I got the buffalo sandwich(and then struggled with what to put on it. Do pickles work with that???) and everything was great but I wish they also offered some already constructed sandwich options for people who don’t feel like getting down in the trenches. Extra points for having good ice.

I tried this place a few days ago and I was pleasantly surprised. This place was set up a bit different than most sandwich shops. There’s a row of bags for every sandwich on the menu. Then on the bag you mark exactly what toppings you want. Pretty Clever and efficient. The young guy on cashier came over and showed me how it worked and was super friendly. But as always with a restaurant the best part was that the sandwich I got was really good. It was a special they had called a Bahn Mi I think. Some Asian influenced sandwich with pulled pork an plenty of spice. I got mine to go but the dining area was nice and clean. If you want to try a new sandwich place this is worth a trip.

Tried this place for the first time after reading several favorable reviews but came away unimpressed. As other reviewers have noted, the ordering process of marking up your selections on a bag is efficient if not completely unique(Boylan Heights on the Corner has a similar process), and the array of toppings/condiments is impressive. There is one key ingredient that Which Wich doesn’t get right, however, and it’s the most essential one — the bread. It’s lame. It’s the kind of cheap baquette you would expect to find in a third-rate grocery store, and it doesn’t measure up to Panera’s first-rate baguette. Maybe they should buy their bread from Harris Teeter, where excellent baguettes can be found daily. Although the meat(I had roast beef) and toppings were tasty, if you don’t get the bread right, then there’s really no point in selling sandwiches. Upgrade your bread, guys.

Wow, I wasn’t expecting much, but this place exceeded my expectations. Loved the customization of the sandwiches, especially the skinny sandwich option and light mayo. Their line-up is well-staffed and turn over food quickly. Loved the bread, and they are generous with the meat. Wish there were a Which Wich in DC!

This place surpassed all my expectations. It’s nestled in the Hollymead Town Center, next to ABC! It’s beautiful out there. I went there on a Friday evening expecting lot of crowd. That didn’t turn out to be the case. The place was pretty empty. I had a hard time choosing which vegetarian option to go with, but ended up going for caprese! They have a lot of sides to choose from. I went for a hotwich, and selected quite a few of them — pesto, hummus, etc. I got a free cookie as I checked in to the business from the Unilocal app. I opted for an Oatmeal Raisin Cookie. We decided to sit outside on that beautiful evening. While my hotwich was being prepared, I got the cookie. It was warm, and so goooood. I haven’t had a raisin cookie like that before. It felt oven fresh. I got my hotwich next. I had opted for a «medium» size, which in hindsight was a tad much. But, as I took a bite out of my hotwich, my taste buds transmitted signals to my brain to release dopamine. It was heavenly. I really enjoyed every single bit of it. I don’t know how this place has managed to stay under the radar. May be due to it being far from UVa, and DT? I’m a convert now, and will visit this place again. This place trumps Subway, and Quiznos; and gives Chipotle a serious run for its money. There are so many options to chose from. Give it a shot. You won’t be disappointed!

I was shocked. I really wasn’t expecting to like this sandwich shop. All that changed when I got my perfectly assembled sandwich. The staff was super friendly and helpful which was a great start. Love the punch cards for extra value. My BLT sub was outstanding. All of the ingredients were fresh and cut properly. Not like subway where the staff hacks up the veggies with no regard for how it looks or tastes. The Which Wich owner is always working at peak and I mentioned to him how much I appreciate the attention to detail. He said he really holds the team accountable for building the best sandwich possible… and it shows. Great place.

I get what they are trying to do with the ordering process, I’m just not convinced that it is worth while. It adds a step instead of eliminating one, which just makes it a gimmick. You pick a bag with the corresponding number of the sandwich you are ordering and then proceed to fill out the toppings and such. But the person at the register still has to manually plug the order in, so why not just tell them want you want? It reminds me of the ordering process at Foster’s Grille — a chain that is failing across the board, closing up locations left and right. The other problem is the location, if you find your self shopping in this shopping center, great, check it out. If not, I doubt many drive by’s on 29 are going to make the stop. That being said, the sandwich I ordered«The Grinder» was very good. Very similar to one from Pot Belly’s, which is a great thing. Tasty bread and toppings, I will stop again next time I find my self in this plaza.
