If you are looking for great food, this is the place to go. The building needs some upkeep but don’t let that fool you. We ordered 4 different bento boxes and general Tso’s. The food was AMAZING! The service was great and staff is very friendly. The fried rice is better than any I’ve ever had and they didn’t mind at all when I asked for it instead of white rice which is typical with a bento box. Most definitely a place I will dine at again when in the area. The only reason I didn’t give a 5 is because of the building. If I reviewed on the food alone it’s a 5+.

This was ok about 6 months ago. Today I ordered egg drop soup — alright. Hibachi beef — bad and too expensive. The salad was plain and lettuce was warm.

Their place smells awful inside. So does the food. I could hardly eat my food because the place smelled like it has not been cleaned for years. It also smelled like fish. Not going there again.

I don’t get why anyone would come here. The fish does not look, smell or taste fresh. Almost everything on the menu is other fried, contains something fried, or has mayo all over it. Real sushi has none of this. The sashimi/nigiri is extremely expensive and of poor quality. I was insanely disappointed and will never return or recommend.

Friendly, a little bit of everything from Sushi to Chinese noodles in 40 forms. We stopped here on a whim, pink buliding with a clashing orange roof and a big red sign. Prices are totally reasonable, kid friendly and oddly hip.

50% off sushi all the time! Great selection of rolls to choose from & for $ 2.50 they are pretty big, 8 pieces. I split 4 rolls and I was full! Such a great find! The atmosphere is what you make it, we were the only ones there but the owners were awesome and kind.

If you want some overpriced roll served at the city’s new trendy restaurant this is not your place. this is a simple place that serves good and cheap food. i eat here about once a week, typically pick up. i have had both the Sushi and Chinese. the two sushi rolls and a miso soup for $ 5 is unbeatable. plus all of the sushi rolls are half off, so this place is cheap. for about $ 5 you can get any of their special rolls. the owners are a chinese couple. their children are typically there after school. they try and help out their parents some. one reviewer complained one of the kids got their order wrong. common sense suggests you would ask the kid to repeat the order to you, but some people prefer to blame others for their issues. the chinese is better than typical chinese food you would eat. in summary, this place is where you can get cheap, great food. this is not some ritzy place. if you understand this, you will enjoy this place.

Get the sushi. Besides the sushi being half price, it is simply great. For the purest experience, order the fish sushi(salmon, tuna, white fish, etc.), because some of the shellfish may be imitation. The fish is always fresh enough, though the restaurant is not located near the coast. It is definitely not sub par. The taste and texture is that of a newly dissected fish, whose meat has been marinating and basking in its own fluids and ambiance until an hour before you taste it. A vital factor to the sushi experience is the red ginger; paired with the sushi, it is a match that could be no other way. I recommend the specialty Tokyo Roll, which boasts sashimi and great vegetables, and the small sized rolls(pick two rolls + soup or salad = under $ 6), out of which I choose the salmon avocado roll. It resonates on the palate so freshly. I recommend, also, getting the salad with red ginger dressing. The dressing is fantastic. This is where I allow my emotions to dictate my reasoning: I cry about this dressing.

You see, I have a problem with sushi… and man do I love this place for further promoting said addiction. I discovered it thanks to Unilocal, about six months ago. It’s décor won’t win any awards, it’s a small family style restaurant with two TV’s and maybe a dozen booths. Don’t come for the atmosphere, come for the food. The service is always good. They are friendly and patient, and always keep our drinks filled. I’ve never had a bad experience with their service in my dozen or so visits. The sushi is always made by hand, and the price is the best you will get anywhere in town. On top of that, if you order at least two rolls for dine-in, they toss in a free miso soup or salad. I highly recommend the sweet potato roll. It’s got a nice sweet and crunchy flavor going on. Me and my girlfriend get one every time we visit. I tend to come here for my sushi fix, however I’ve sampled a few of their lunch plates, and was not disappointed by them. I can’t elaborate on their dinner meals though. If you want sushi, and you want it fresh, AND you want it on the cheap. Hop on the interstate and drive seven minutes out of Chattanooga to this place. You can drop a five and some change, and sit down to two full rolls and a nice bowl of soup. Now that I wrote this, I’m craving sushi again… well I know where I’m going tomorrow.

I really wanted to like this place. ½ price sushi? I guess that can be a pro or a con, in this case it wasn’t great sushi. It was pretty meh and some I didn’t care for at all. The BF got a Chinese dish as he doesn’t like sushi and his dish was just blah too. Probably won’t be going back there. I wish them well, but it wasn’t for me.

Got a takeout order on a Sunday afternoon. Staff was friendly both on the phone and when I arrived at the restaurant. When I got back home, one of the two soups I had ordered was not in the bag — oh well, I suppose if it was that important, I could have looked through my order while in the parking lot. But there really isn’t any excuse for the hair I pulled out of my chicken and broccoli. Ick! Those things aside, my meal had a decent flavor to it. The boyfriend’s hot and sour soup was«very good,» as was the General Tso’s chicken. The«fried rice» was basically steamed white rice with a few vegetables thrown in. Overall, I’d probably try the food here again, and will update this review when/if that happens. In the meantime, surely there are better options in the Chattanooga area.

Japanese, the Sushi always taste fresh. Get the 007 or Playboy… Awesome good. Chinese, The Garlic Chicken is the BEST, their version of Gen Tso’s best in town. Other, the Pad Tai needs more hot spice but its fantastic too! The portions are HUGE!!! Yummy and lots of it!

Most terrible pad Thai that I have ever had. It was a dry bowl of tasteless noodles. They should not be selling Thai food. It was awful!

Me and my girlfriend stumbled spin this place when wanting sushi. We were not disappointed! The service is amazing, and the food of course was great! We have been back many times after that and still no complaints! The prices are amazing as well!

Excellent Chinese food an at a phenomenal price! I recommend the sesame chicken. Sushi, however, is a different story. I honestly don’t know what some of these people have eaten in regards to sushi but I have tried it twice, and have yet to get down more than a few pieces. It has a distinct smell — and when you smell sushi, that’s not really a good sign. Maybe that’s why it’s 50% off, I don’t know. Definitely go for the Chinese but try Sakesui or Rain Thai if you are looking for good quality sushi.

What a sweet surprise. The building is not impressive but the staff(family) is wonderful and the food, sushi in particular, is great. I have no idea how they make enough money to survive as the prices are just too low. All sushi is 50% off the menu price. We have been twice for lunch in the last week and everything is great. They also have pretty good chinese food and we have mixed it up a bit. Everything fresh and very tasty. For lunch yesterday we had three rolls, shrimp tempura, crab rangoon and hot tea and my wife had a beer. Total tab $ 29.00. Just crazy, We will be regulars here.

This is a really good place to eat. It is a good mix of Chinese food & Sushi. It’s not really in a tourist area, so be prepared to drive just a little. If you are staying downtown, it’s no more than 3 exits away. Don’t skip out on this place because you would really be missing out on on great food based on 10 mins in the car. The staff is great. The prices are amazing. I don’t have anything negative to say about this place.

Finally writing a review from my visit about 1.5 months ago. I’m pretty picky when it comes to sushi. I lived in socal for 8 years, so I’ve eaten my fair share and have experienced some really good sushi places. With that said, I would have NEVER imagined that I’d find one of the best sushi bars that I’ve ever experienced! The food here tastes wonderful.

While visiting Chattanooga, we were in desperate need of some grub. We drove by Red Ginger and saw some cars on the parking lot and thought«heck, why not!». I was pleasantly surprised with the service and the general quality of the food. We decided to do take out but the servers were crazy friendly helping us with the menu and offering us water while we wait. I ordered the shrimp and broccoli but asked the server if I could just have extra broccoli instead of rice. He was very receptive and made no issue of it. When I opened the food back our hotel, they jammed packed TONS of broccoli into this little container… insanely happy. The flavors were good as well… they didn’t go too crazy with the dark sauce. I certainly recommend this place for chinese.
