I have heard so much about Mikado. Over and over again, I hear how amazing this place is. Usually its about the Marlton location but I figured, this is probably as good. Meh, not really! I came here with my girlfriend for some sushi. Its BYOB so that’s good. The menu is filled with options and they are accommodating. staff was nice but almost a little too attentive. We just wanted to chat and not have someone be on top of us. The sushi was just okay tho. It was not out the world in any way. It was fresh but not the freshest, the rolls, were cut into MASSIVE sizes– so, either I was biting my piece of sushi or I had a mouth full of food. Any way, I think I’ll be trying the marlton location and other sushi spots in the area before coming here.

Godzilla roll is a game changer. I’ve been here a couple times, and have never skipped on the Godzilla roll. A light tempura batter wraps this ginormous roll that’s slathered in a sweet and spicy sauce. The veggie gyoza are also other-worldly. Pan fried on one side, they are well flavored and complimented nicely by a light soy based dipping sauce. There are a number of specialty rolls here that are also very good. The interior is dark and modern. Service is friendly and there is never a wait. What complaints do I have? First, none of the other rolls have stood out to me as a «must order again.» Second, I had one mildly negative experience– server was friendly, but offered two specialty rolls that were several dollars more than anything else on the menu(over $ 20 each). I was surprised, to say the least, when the check came. Even still, I will come back again and again because this place is one of the best.

I really like their food. They have amazing Sushi and hibachi. However, their staff is very unprofessional. Other than that, great place.

This place is a find. I think the best sushi spot around and the most for your money as well. Pricing is reasonable. I’ve been coming only here for the past 10 years. Sushi chefs are excellent. Staff is excellent and Kenny is a real good greeter that makes you feel like family. It’s a place that is friendly once they get to know you. I’m a purest so I like the sushi straight up, no rice and the Aji is really served up the right way. All plates are presented nicely. Their special rolls are really good and They have a huge selection as well. Their hot kitchen items are also excellent. Good salads and good Seafood soup. Can’t say more.

I went in on a Friday night and it was jammed pack but the hostess gave us the option to sit at sushi bar. Which was my first time ever at the bar! Had so much fun with the guys preparing the sushi. I have been to many sushi restaurants and Mikado is my favorite. The sushi is so fresh and melts in your mouth. Everything is so flavorful. The service is exceptional and extremely fast. Although I wouldn’t mind to wait for my food. The prices are very reasonable. I also like the fact you can eat in or pick up your order. Also another great tip, is it is a BYOB so don’t forget your wine! I will and always return to Mikado and recommend it to everyone I know!

The food was great and the presentation was even better. The service was perfectly timed. When I finished my soup, the app arrived. When I was finished with that, my sushi was right on time. A wonderful dining experience.

I was around cherry hill mall and craving for sushi so I decided to come here with my family. I am a tuna fan so I started off with the hot pepper tuna. Definitely recommend it. The tuna is delicious. I ordered the spicy salmon roll, Scott roll(shrimp tempura with spicy tuna), Amanda roll(spicy tuna, salmon), and dragon roll. The portion size for the sushi here is a lot bigger than the ones I usually have in Philly. Servers here are very nice. They come back every time to check on us to see if we needed anything. They even changed our plates after our appetizer. There is seats outside where you can enjoy the outdoors while eating sushi. Definitely recommend coming here for sushi. A little bit pricey but still decent.

I’ve been going here since it opened. Never disappointed and I enjoy everything. My mother has been to Japan and says this is very authentic. I grew up at this restaurant. Must visit.

I have been to a lot of sushi places and this one is by far the best one. The tuna dumplings are THEBEST. All the speciality rolls are delicious and even the spicy tuna roll is the best I’ve ever had!

Well decorated restaurant and the food was delicious. I don’t normally eat sushi but after coming to Mikado I would get my sushi from this place. The dishes was presentable and I had good service.

Not only is the food fantastic, the setting is aesthetically pleasing. If you order the sashimi and sushi combo(most expensive one), they usually serve the food on a mini wooden boat. The service is amazing and it is definitely a go-to place for a nice family dinner.

Came here on a Solo Date after a long day at work and I wanted to treat myself… it was this or a hamburger and beer… so I went with the healthier choice. First off this place is BYO and dark, so great choice for a first date if you have a mug like mine. They have all sorts of crazy rolls that sounded good, but heavy in calories so kicked it old school and went with a Spicy Tuna Roll and a Rainbow Rolls, which was plenty and left me charged up to hit the gym up. Both rolls and tea came out to about $ 21.

This place is pretty amazing. Their food is outstanding and I’ve had things here that I normally don’t eat in other Japanese restaurants. For appetizers we ordered the tuna dumpling, hot pepper tuna, yellowtail and jalapeño appetizer, octopus sushi and scallop sashimi. By far the best one was the Tuna dumpling, which isn’t on the menu, but If you request it, they’ll make it. I would highly recommend anyone who loves tuna and crab, to try this. The hot pepper tuna was amazing as well. The balance between the tuna and the flavorful sauces are great together. Those two were my favorite in the appetizers. For sushi rolls we ordered a Godzilla roll, J & J roll, and the Amanda roll. Those were all great and tasted amazing. We also got a lunchbox of the yakisoba noodles with vegetables. Which came with the noodles and vegetables, a California roll, a spring roll, miso soup, and salad! The service here is excellent. Everyone is very friendly here and they knew what they were doing. The waiter knew the menu like the back of his hand, which is great when you describe what you want and he knows what you want without you knowing the name of it. Will be going back soon!

Came here after being overwhelmed by the wait at sagami {even after making a 830p reservation}…I’m really happy we came here… the rolls were huge and flavorful. the service was prompt and courteous… warm hot towels to end the meal… really enjoyed the basic rolls shumai and hamachi. def would come back here very soon! Thank you for bringing courtesy and class back to the sushi world!

I tried Mikado for take out, so this review is based solely on the food. I tried the tuna dumplings and a bunch(too many!) of rolls. The tuna dumplings, which are pretty darn expensive, are really good. The inside is stuffed with lots of crab, avocado, and tempura crunch. It’s all wrapped up in a purse of fresh tuna… delicious! The rolls are huge — way bigger than any Philly sushi(including Fat Salmon). The stand outs were the Godzilla, Green Pearl, and SJVI. Everything was fresh and tasty and I will definitely be back when in the area.

Their sushi is OK, but their chicken udon is super. Of all the udons in philly-nj area… I think I like their udon the best. The sushi is pretty good for south nj. You’ll of course find something better in nyc.

Pretty good sushi, but NOT comparable to Sagami(I’m actually a little annoyed that I need to say this). Looking at their website after the fact, it seems like they pride themselves more on their elaborate special rolls than they do on their other sushi offerings. They have some Japanese dishes that I have not had in other local restaurants and I like that there is no fusion here, but simply Japanese. The piece sushi that I have ordered has all been good, a nice balance between rice and fresh fish. I was a little disappointed that the sushi dinner did not come with any tamako(egg sushi). The tuna roll that I ordered was falling apart before I even touched it, it tasted good but was a bit of a mess. The spicy tuna roll has too much mayo for my liking and not enough heat. I have not tried any of the special rolls in recent memory. I have tried the noodles here a couple times, and it isn’t my favorite. The trendy, modern look of the place is dark and hip. Service was friendly.

Love this place, not only is the food great but the staff is the best. Always friendly and accommodating. They remember you from one visit to the next and welcome you like an old friend The selection is wide and always fresh. Atmosphere is up beat and dress is casual and comfortable. It’s a BYOB, wish they had a liquor license though. On my favorite list

One of the best restaurant services I have received in the longest time! There’s a great variety of choices on the menu and the portions were definitely larger than I expected making it well worth your money! They provided a free small complimentary starter(didn’t exactly know what the dish was) and dessert(fresh pineapples to help digest the meal), along with a nice hot hand towel to sanitize your hands at the end of the meal! Would definitely recommend if you’re in the area and feeling some Japanese cuisine!
