This is the best place to have sushi. Good is great. The service is wonderful. The prices match the quality of the food. We will be back. Great atmosphere.

This is my second time here in a week. It is absolutely awesome. I ordered the tuna berry again. Hands down the best tuna I may have ever had. Also got the pork Ramón again. If you come here get the Ramón.

I finally got to try this place out. I love the three tables that sit on the floor; very authentic looking. I used the restroom and noticed it was not anything fancy, but clean. I ordered the tempura appetizer which consisted of 2 pieces of shrimp and 3 vegetables. Pretty descent. The tempura dipping sauce tasted a bit different than what I’m used to though. I also ordered the Tokyo Tower Roll. Very Very yummy! I understand it’s the house favorite. It did take a bit longer than I expected. It was worth it. I can’t wait to take hubby here and try more!

I love eating lunch at this sushi restaurant! It’s one of my favorites. It’s really comfortable and fairly affordable. There’s always wonderful sushi specials. Every time I go, I order green tea, edamame and a random special roll and I’m good to go! My family loves this place as well. Also, if you’re part of a «party of 6,» you can sit on pillows on the floor, which has a fun authentic-feel. I love it, but people who aren’t as flexible might not enjoy it as much.

Authentic Japanese restaurant. The boyfriend’s mom(from Japan) used to order New Year’s sushi from here. Tempura was great, as was sushi and Chawanmushi. This goes on my list of real, Japanese owned and run restaurants in the US.

Food was decadent! Very affordable. Staff was very friendly. We had so much fun! We are only sad we live about 3 hours away and can’t come visit as often as we would like.

In a nondescript shopping center, Daikichi features creative combinations as well as the usual rolls and sushi. The soft shell shrimp was a revelation, but everything was very, very good. Attentive service, too.

Daikichi is probably the best authentic Japanese in the area, real Japanese owner!!! They are the real deal. We have tried several Japanese restaurants in the area, they are not even owned by Japanese! Staffs are very friendly and the food are very fresh! Worth every single penny!!! We love the scallop, sweet shrimp and sea urchin(they were out of sea urchin last time when we were there though) I also like their rolls as well, very flavorful and yummy! We visit on a regular basis! Heard they have good Ramen as well, will definitely come back for some Ramen next time!

Good food. Fresh tasting(and smelling) sushi. Ramen was great. Reminded me of the real deal in Japan. I don’t think you’ll ever get ramen here like over in Japan because there just simply isn’t the ingredient support here like there. It was very good though. The staff was amazing and very nice. I’d call real Japanese food because the chef is Japanese and knows what he’s doing. I’ll be eating here again for sure.

I went there on a recommendation from my japanese coworker. The food was very authentic and the server was very nice. Sushi was very fresh. Their years experience showed. Will be back even though its a one hour drive.

Waited 45 minutes on a Thursday to just get my appetizer. Stop by and you might find me still waiting on my food. Never returning.

My husband and I went on Friday night. I can’t eat anything raw so I ordered the shrimp tempura roll which were pretty good. My husband enjoyed his rolls as well. He got a few of the different spicy rolls. The staff was very nice and I really enjoyed their green tea.

Oh man, if you want real sushi and ramen come to Daikichi. One of my regular costumers told me about this place who lives out in Chesapeake raved about this place. I finally gave them a try one weekday night. Sushi is up my alley, so I had high expectations and boy I was ready to dig in. For drinks, try their hot green tea(unlimited refills) and they pour it fresh from the pot. I always start off with seaweed salad. The presentation is beautiful, served on a little clam shell. I wish the portion was a bit bigger. It’s probably the smallest amount I’ve gotten compared to other sushi places. Calamari is good, they serve more of the legs, I wish it was bigger as well. I would recommend trying their specialty rolls, it’s different and more unique compared to other sushi places. You wouldn’t get anywhere else. Their a la carte menu for their hand rolls are pretty bomb. My favorite thing to get here is the pork ramen. Just get it. The medium boil egg in their is the best part. For dessert the crem brûlée has got to be one of the best. It’s small inside, 3 floor table, 5 tables on the main floor and the bar. Servers here are always on their feet, super attentive, and answer an questions you have. Will be back to try more of their appetizers and special rolls.

I probably should have gotten their sushi, based on reviews, but was in the mood for lots of veggies. Ordered the beef teriyaki and asked for extra veggies instead of rice. Well… The extra veggies were lettuce and a small tomato. Had I known I would have ordered differently or from elsewhere. Food wasn’t amazing but wasn’t bad– really unhappy with the«veggies» which were just salad greens.

The best sushi in Hampton Roads. I can’t say enough about the berry tuna, yet I haven’t written anything at all. Well it is as delicious as it looks. The tuna is so delectable and it almost melts in your mouth. I could eat this stuff weekly. Outside of being the freshest and most excellent sushi I’ve ever had, this restaurant provided what my Japanese friend described as an authentic experience. They even gave her menus written in Japanese. It’s a very quiet hidden gem that deserves some praise because they get sushi. They really get it.

I’m from Raleigh. I went to oceanfront couples time, but I missed to eat here. Finally I tasted at this restaurant with authentic japanese sushi. I was referred from my friend who has been lived Virginia Beach before. I loved Chawannmushi dish alot. I rated 4stars because Tuna Berry wasn’t thick slice like on picture menu:)). But I highly recommend it. Thank you for great sushi.

Absolutely the most excellent Ramen that I have ever had. The broth was the most rich in flavor and the noodles were cooked just right. It had the right amount of other ingredients in there as well complete with soft boiled egg. I believe the broth was pork tonkatsu. I ate the whole thing up and this will be my standard for ramen until I find something else that surpasses it. Service was top notch. The lady who was our waitress made sure that we had everything we needed without being overbearing. It was a good place to eat for lunch. My boyfriend and I were in and out with time to spare for his one hour lunch break. It’s been some time since I’ve had a sushi roll from here, but I definitely wanna be back… at least for the ramen if I can’t find one any better!
