food was great and service was awesome when I ask for something to made fresh for me they had no problem and it was made fast and they brought it right to my table. The server kept on checking on our group. thank you for the great service.

The Golden Corral I prefer going to is shut down. I was upset to find out about this since husband and I decided to make this our spot this evening. This location is not my preferred spot. But they seemed to be clean inside. Food was pretty good for a decent price. For my husband and I and our 3 year old we spent $ 26 on dinner. My absolute favorite item was the garlic cheese biscuits! I was not impressed with their dessert bar. Chocolate fountain yes. But not very much to dip in.

Not the biggest fan of this location. This is close to my house and very convenient. First, It was packed(It is always packed here)! I understand how busy it can get since it is a buffet and the service not being the best. Second, the price to eat here is just crazy, for 3 of us was 53 dollars and my dad asked for the senior citizen discount and she did not give it to him(yes he is of age for the discount). Third, and again I understand it is a buffet and not a 5 star restaurant but the food had no taste to it. There were so many parties going on and a lot of kids running around(not the restaurants fault) that it just made everything claustrophobic. I don’t know if I will return again only because the price to eat here for the quality of the food is just not worth it.

There once was a man from Nantucket, he was raised to eat from a bucket, from noon to dawn he would eat with a yawn, and in his gullet, the food, he stuck it. Oh to reminisce on my days as a boy on those balmy Northeastern Atlantic shores. I have seen seafood buffets a plenty, I’ve seen surf and turf galore. You want Captain Georges? I’ve been to twenty!!! But I want it all. I want moooooooooore! Up where they walk, up where they run, up where they eat all day just for fun. Infinite calories? Wish I could be, at Golden Corral. Occasionally one cannot contain the sheer joy that is elicited by such a sight! One may draw parallels to the most decadent horse trough of the gods. Upon entering this fine establishment I was greeted by a labyrinth, as is to be expected. To reach the land of milk and honey one must traverse the trials of the labyrinth of metal poles, to meet the gorgon clad in burgundy Polo who must receive payment for the ferry to the«other side». Payment processed, I received refreshment as the journey to my place of sitting was to be long and arduous. We made our way to the ferryman. Dark and ominous he stood 6 ft. tall with eyes that pierced the depths of my being. His name was Bill. He ushered me through meandering tables, endless trough of the most succulent food one could ever hope to lay eyes upon. Dodging what I could only describe as miniature food banshees, I looked to my guide for some zoological explanation. To which he informed me that the locals have a custom, in which they allow their young to roam freely, attacking all who would cross their hunger driven path. The elders of their society, showing status by number of plates consumed, vied for supremacy by consumption of exponentially larger quantities of butter glazed rolls than one individual should be able to consume. Once seated, the local translator greeted me and brought a bountiful feast of the local delicacy«the butter drenched roll». She gazed longingly as I took my first bite of this exquisite treasure. To her delight I nearly fainted in pure extract as the first bite produced rivers of buttery deliciousness down my neck, nearly grazing my bow tie. Peggy was her name. This siren of buttery treats escorted me from hither to tither showing all of the bountiful fares this, the most golden of corrals had to offer. With a final turn around the ice cream waterfall fountain she ushered me back to my place of rest and bid me adieu. One final warning she did impart. If I was to integrate myself into their society I must first prove myself worthy. Had I left this lad of pure indulgence without finishing at least a sextuplet of plates, licked clean, I would not be welcomed back. Challenge accepted, I put myself to the ultimate test for the acceptance of these wonderful people. Half way through my rite of passage I caught the glance of one who must have been the village chieftain. Truly he was able to eat more than all others as he had reached such girth that he required the assistance of a mechanized beast of burden to move about from trough to trough, remnants of his last five platters of food adorning his regal attire; corduroy pants stretched to bursting at the seams, a t-shirt he had outgrown sometime in his youth, and the crown perched upon his head(I am told is referred to as a «truckers hat»). Seeing my mighty endeavors to join his kin he nodded in approval. Nearing my last platter of meat and succulent accoutrements I felt my heart slow to a crawl. Seeing a bright light hovering above. «Surely I am communing with the gods of old», I thought to myself. Having won entry into this ancient and sacred society and barely able to drag my weary bones from the table of trials, I was issued a mechanical beast of burden as I exited this corral of gold. I am told his name is Rascal.

The worst customer service I’ve ever encountered. Don’t bother trying to call ahead to order anything! I was put on hold for 10 minutes for no one to take my order; tried calling back and was hung up on. Tried a third time no answer! Fourth attempt someone answered after another 5 minutes on hold… When I asked to speak with a manager I was told they were really busy and I would have to wait once again! I will never visit or attempt to order anything from this place again. Hard to believe they are still in business if this is how they treat potential customers.

I don’t care what anyone will say about Golden Corral, but I love it here. Decent food and a reasonable price. Where else can I can a meal and dessert for one low price and its unlimited. I stop in with the family after leaving the beach, because I refuse to go to that nasty waffle house. Staff was great considering they were about to close and still allowed us to come in and eat and didn’t even rush us. They were polite and Friendly, just as if they were just opening. Chicken, buns, salad, beef all was still fresh. Nothing tasted old. I think Golden Corral is a best kept secret and if they had more open I think they would give ihop and these other places a run for there money. A+++++

The best Golden Corral I’ve been to! It has the same prices as the others, but the food is much better. Much much much better! I had an appointment in Chesapeake one day and needed some nourishment. Saw this Golden Corral and my mind was set. Staff is nice and attentive, although, there isn’t much I can say about the layout. Salad bar, specialty dishes, taco station, carving station, breads, sweets, it’s all the same… But the garlic butter biscuits weren’t dry! That’s what won me over. They’re usually hard as a rock, but the flavour is amazing. I had a whole plate of them, at least six! I’ve never been able to enjoy them until coming to this specific Golden Corral. Also, the food wasn’t as greasy, in my opinion. I left without that heavy feeling I usually get from buffets. It was great! This is what my mother had to say about the food: «The service was good. I liked the food and everything. I liked the space where we sat and I even liked the people serving. They were nice! They were really nice! This one is better and we need to have it where we live.» If only I didn’t have to drive 30 minutes to get to it again. I can justify it with another appointment in the area. Oh, doctor~

Let me just start off by saying I’m a realistic individual. I understand the Golden Corral is not five star restaurant and it is a buffet. I have been to Golden Corral many times for breakfast which is about the only meal that I will eat there. This particular location is not the place to go for that breakfast. Two trips to the bar and cold food each time not expecting piping hot fresh as it is a buffet, but was not expecting it to be ice cold either. Golden Corral is a great place for breakfast but this particular location is not. The servers were very attentive and very friendly. I will still continue to go to Golden Corral, just not this location

If you are tight on money and/or tired of eating fast food burgers & fries Golden Corral is a great alternative. They have a good selection of food albeit mostly fried and overly seasoned w/salt you will surely find something to satisfy your appetite.

The family and myself had a late lunch today, the the food was good for the most part. I would avoid the rice, I tried two different Rice sides and they were both mush, the season on it was great just the rice itself was over cooked it seemed. The server was a bit slow refilling my coffee despite our section being abit slow.

I like this Golden Corral location. Being able to have some choices during lunch is fantastic. This is the first location that I encountered the fresh cheeseburger sliders. WOW!!! mean, I admit, I was always happy to get a plate load of salad, the fried chicken, steamed veggies and maybe some other assorted yummies, Now though, I love going just to get my hand on a few of these. They are flame grilled and really super tasty. If you are hungry, Golden Corral has really stepped up their menu. Take a minute to get over here and see what good fast buffet food can taste like.

After visiting this GC I have to probably revisit other reviews and update the ratings. I cannot in all honesty rate against other restaurants. There are GOOD GCs and BAD GCs — it is a buffet and IMO quite unique. I have been to buffets other than GC — I don’t SEE the people preparing the dishes, rolling out the bread or cooking the steak. Stuff here generally is fresh and freshly prepared. One of a kind. That said — we hit this location specifically after reviewing others via Unilocal and arrived at the designated«pre dinner» time to qualify for the lunch pricing as experienced GCers know. Overall it was run quite well with food being rotated and filled often. I also noted that it was definitely hotter than most other GCs which tend to be on the warm side unless you get the food once it comes out. Wife agreed that the food was fresh as well and she found her regulars like the bourbon street chicken and mashed potatoes/gravy. I was pleasantly surprised that they had beef burger sliders for dinner(I have seen this before at lunch with remnants bleeding into dinner). No this isn’t Five Guys or Fuddrucker quality — but I did have about four of them. They come with a pickle. The chap running the steak station seemed to not understand through touch the difference in doneness — I asked for medium well and it was beyond medium — very dry. I ate some but had to toss the rest(not a huge piece). Steaks in most places can be a crap shoot — between dry and the wife complaining«that is RAW — how can you eat that?»(it was medium well … and with mashed potatoes I can eat it quite nicely!) There was a Wing and BBQ Rib fest going on. The ribs were pretty good actually considering. In my travels *ANY* place offering unlimited ribs typically provides low end fatty tasteless crap. But GC is not«any place». The wings sadly were another story. First, the wings came about 10m before 4pm and as usual no signs stated which wing was which — I grabbed one/two of each. Some were okay — some not so good. Generally the problem was — the wings had little to no flavor. There is more to a wing than slapping sauce on them. You bite into them and they«taste great». Either the cooking or due to being a poor product from the start, once you get past the outer layer, they just had no flavor. I mentioned this to my wife who quickly agreed — I am not the only one. Funny — I have expected a rush of people and no wings to be had — instead LOTS of wings with no flavor — bummer. Eventually the signs were posted but the wings were 3 deep the signs were not 100% clear. Note: Wings being crappy — well there is always more to eat at GC that is great . I had a corn on the cob and the usual potatoes and gravy(which Erie PA had issues with this). Gosh — you can definitely taste the difference between crap and quality and when they make them fresh — boy do they taste good. Coleslaw — never had junk like that ever — might be this location — bad batch — dunno — but horrible — no taste/dry. Sadly the dessert bar was a bit weak. It had the basics — cookies/fudge/brownie; soft serve ice cream; «Chocolate Wonderfall» and cotton candy — plus the all important apple and peach cobblers. But this was still about ½ the size of the location in Wilmington(sorry I haven’t reviewed that one).(To this day I remember the FRESH cinnamon buns rolled and baked — killing myself one bun at a time …) Also this place had about 4 kinds of hard ice cream. Washroom was clean and had an arm hook so you don’t touch the door handle when you leave. * Pricing In Wilmington NC they offered last year $ 1.99 kids pricing on Tuesdays — lunch and dinner per adult. While in Chesapeake we called around and found NONE of the general Chesapeake/Norfolk/Virginia Beach locations had this pricing. To upset myself further, I decided to call the NC location and sure enough that deal still applied. When we were going to this location I already discovered that the restaurant tax is a whopping 11.5% and I knew Wilmington was only about 7.75%. (TV ad stated that there was a $ 2.99 kids promotion on or just after our visit but that only applies to adults buying dinner — which we don’t do since we get there before 4pm). I believe kids pricing ended at 12yr old. I know in Chicago the age ranges were different. * Bottom line Weak dessert/poor wings — but the food was hot, fresh and overall a well run shop. They have two Isles, one desert and one regular. No variety whatsoever. For 14 dollars you can go to a Chinese food buffet and get a lot more variety. The food is really not impressive quality wise. Their steaks were the best part, but even then they did not have well done steak. I would stay away

I really don’t do buffets, but I kept hearing good things about this place, so we decided to give it a try. I have had better… When you first walk in, you are reminded of high school cafeteria. The setting just really put me off. We got in line like cattle being herded, got our trays, our drinks and paid. I thought, okay, even though I was really put off already, I wanted to give it a try. First, some food was luke warm, not good in a buffet. Second, not really a variety of food choices. Yes, it was a good price for everyone. I think for a party of five, we paid about 30.00. I think this is good for large families or maybe even college students on a budget. But I won’t be going back anytime soon.

This is a great«fall back» place if you ever run out of ideas or things that just don’t sound good. To me I think about value. Where else can you eat 10lbs of great steak cooked to order for only $ 8.99? I demolish this place for dinner so I tend to stay away as I do nothing but gain weight here. It is a MUST to hit this place for breakfast!

My roommate and I were in the Chesapeake area doing some shopping last week and decided to stop into GC for dinner. Before last week I hadn’t been to a GC since I was a kid and was definitely reminded why I stopped going. The food was mediocre at best(however I will say that GC has the best buttered rolls EVA) but everything else was pretty meh. I got roasted chicken, mashed potatoes, corn, and a roll. The dessert table was nice in that there were lots of options and the piece of chocolate cake I got did hit the spot. I’d say Golden Corral is a okay place to go to every couple of years.

I went to three gold corrals all in about a weeks time and revisited all of them. They are all three almost identical and have pretty good service. Here is what I said about the other one. I grew up very rural. And did not have many opportunities to involve myself with gourmet restaurants as a child. Think very rural. Like more than 5 kids in my grade at my school were my cousins. Yes, that rural. So — when I went off to college, I knew nothing of good food. I was blissfully ignorant. I did not know that I did not know. Then I came to Golden Corral. And I was amazed and perplexed. Lots of tasty food for a low price. And on Friday nights you can get all kinds of mediocre seafood for that same low price. And all the Sweet Iced Tea you can drink. For me as a 19 year old — this was heaven. I loved it. In recent years I have hard time stomaching Golden Corral. But, I love it once.“ Golden Corral is an American Style buffet that typically has some kind of cheap steak available. They have fried chicken. Chicken fried steak. Sausage gravy. They have fresh biscuits, rolls, and desserts. They have many types of veggies that are in some way deep fried or sauted in Animal Fat. They are in essence — buffet style southern home cooking. With Sweet Iced tea on the side.

Only the Golden Corral can satisfy me on my broke days. I love their rolls with honey butter and bourbon chicken, despite the worst waiters and the lousy grilled foods. I will be happy with just the rolls and the bourbon chicken before going to my work(an overnight job).
