Visited here twice in two days(don’t judge me). Two stars bc I love corner bakery. Should otherwise be one. Yesterday was here with Clark for sit down lunch. I received my panini and soup combo, but the tomato soup was cold. I’m sitting around the corner, how was the soup already cold? My sandwich wasn’t melty either, which surprises me(again) because I’m literally sitting around the corner.(No puns intended.) Today, I placed a group order online for it to be ready at 10:30. It’s now 10:47 and I’m just leaving w my order… they made it while I sat and waited. They also missed my specification for one of our salads to not contain onions. If you’re going to make that an option on your website, please pay attention to it. She offered to make another, but at that point I didn’t have the time to wait another few minutes. Accuracy of the rest of the order is TBD.

The food here is fine, but the service is extremely poor bordering on incompetent. I work in the building and order online so I can run down and grab my lunch and run back to the office. Nine times out of ten, my order is wrong which requires either a return trip or(if I remember to check my order before leaving) standing in the lunch rush line to get it fixed. I can understand the occasional mistake, but when its nearly EVERYSINGLETIME, it’s just ridiculous. Sorry, Corner Bakery, but I’ll getting lunch else where from now on.

Not bad. I’m eating their turkey sandwich as we speak and I actually am pleasantly surprised by it. The food quality seems to vary a bit with each different location though. This one in particular is the best i’ve had so far. It’s decently priced, but I would be much happier if the sandwiches were priced at a dollar less.

After a cupcake breakfast I was still hungry, and had the feeling I should get something more substantial. So we headed across the street to this place, which it turns out is at the base of the Sears Tower(I don’t think I’ll ever call it the Willis.) Sweetie insisted I get a salad. Insisted. She is normally very direct, but I can wriggle around things; this time, there was no way out. We were headed to Wisconsin and a presumed diet of brats and cheese, so salad was a necessity. Not a healthy sandwich? Nope. Sigh. I had the Asian salad. It was good enough– pretty fresh, diverse ingredients, tasty enough. But not satisfying, and absolutely not what I would have ordered here(and given the option, there were more interesting food places nearby.) Oh, well. Service was okay, not great. Prices are high, but hey, consider the location. The place is clean and open; there are tables out front and a short bar in the back with a view of the lobby.

This review is low because of desserts. How can their desserts be so bad when«Bakery» is in their name!!! From hard, dry toffee cookies to a lemon bars that are frequently more thick, hard, dry, tasteless crust than lemon filling. I’m a dessert lover and I work in the tower, so this place is convenient. However, I’ve given them one-too-many chances. I’m done. To discourage patronizing this place, I’ve posted a big-ass banner in my cube saying Corner Bakery Desserts Suck!

I originally rated them one star, because I thought I caught food poisoning from there it turned out to be stomach flu at no fault of Corner Bakery! This business… Isn’t so bad forgive me for the miscommunication. All of my encounters with Corner Bakery in this location have been excellent. It’s a coincidence that I showed symptoms of the flu the day I ate there it definitely was not the food. Note: No one promoted this retraction. My friend caught the same strain of stomach flu a day later and I realized wait that wasn’t food poisoning. Out of respect for Chicago businesses I decided to retract my previous review. Let’s keep Unilocal accurate and give all businesses a fair chance.

Good salads and soups, particularly the cheese soup. Service is a little slow, lines are long during lunch. Nonetheless, the food is fresh and they have good bagels, cookies and pastries. Reasonably priced. The tuna salad sandwich is very good.

I’ve come here only a few times. The baked goods are yummy and so is their cheddar soup. The staff were helpful and friendly, inside there are chair with the table running along the window. There are more seating options just outside in the lobby, which is okay as the long as the lobby isn’t busy. This location is located inside of the Willis Tower.

Very cozy corner environment located directly across the river front from The Trump Hotel. Deliciously displayed sweets in cases and brightly displayed menu choices allow the diner to easily choose from the vast array of options from breakfast to dinner and anything from snacks to dessert and specialty coffee. Very pleasant cashier Moryya, greeted us and took our order. William, one of the onsite managers delivered our meal. Overall experience 5 star for food, friendliness, promptness and professionalism.

Had the chicken pesto sandwich that was pretty good although pretty heavy on the sauce that wasn’t exactly pesto-y but still, it tasted good and the chicken was tender. Fresh veggies. Overall, not bad.

I’m a panera girl but this is in the building so it’s convenient. About what you would expect for a chain lunch place in the loop. Pricey for what it is and busy, but you get the food fast and it’s Ok.

I’m a Panera girl, I love the soup and sandwich combo. I love getting extra bread with my bread bowl, I even went in st Louis where panera is called by another name. But corner bakery is here in my building. and panera is across the street. And corner bakery has the same combo deal, and really delicious eggs and bacon in the morning, and the baked potato soup is 8 million times better. I don’t think I’ll be crossing the street for awhile.

Not sure I want to go back. My sandwich was fine, but the lemon bar(not cheap) tasted either extremely stale or poorly prepared. Very chaotic environment

Corner Bakery, Panera, Au Bön Pain — pretty much all the same in my book. None of these are places that I seek out to eat at, but are all decent. CB is in the building where I work. Normally, I would always bring my lunch, but on the occasional day when I am lazy or don’t have any leftovers, I usually end up with salad, soup, or sandwich from here. Nothing is very memorable, so I can’t say«omg, you must get the …» The place is always busy, but the line to order moves fast. They always have 3 – 4 people working the registers. Now, the time between you order and get your food, can be 15ish minutes — which is a long time. They do have good brownies — nice for an afternoon break.

You should eat here for two main reasons: 1. You have to sustain yourself and 2. You will gain the right to boast you’ve lunched at the tallest building in the nation. Other than that, if you’re familiar with Corner Bakeries, you already know the rest of the story.

I had the Mac and Cheese do not bother. It is tasteless and watery. It is definately a poor value. How can they screw up mac and cheese. Ay $ 6.99 is should be damn good since the ingredients are very inexpensive.

Corner Bakery has good sandwiches. The pretzel bread was too salty. I love their mediterranean style pasta salad with well-seasoned tomatoes, basil and capatavi noodles. The fruit salad was also really fresh. They also make yummy box lunches perfect for meetings or conferences.

It’s a Corner Bakery and you know what you like and don’t like. I’m a fan of the DC Chix Salad Sandwich and their chips. This CB is on the ground floor of the Sears Tower. You can enter from the lobby or from the outside on Monroe. Staff is helpful and sometimes friendly. The space is really intimate, almost claustrophobic, which is sometimes welcome. Pictures of the construction of the Sears Tower hang throughout, and the place attracts tourists and business people from the area. Some UK businessmen were seated near me recently, discussing«Quids» and the like and cracked me up talking about Green Bay, Wisconsin. Example: «That’s the home of the, er, Packers. They, er, won ‘that thing’ recently.» Gotta love it.
