As I’m exploring all the lunch spots here in Chicago I, of course, had to stop in to Jimmy John’s. Décor: It’s a Jimmy John’s: seen one and you’ve seen ‘em all. But that isn’t bad, it’s clean, inviting, and well lit. There are a few tables, too, if you want to stay there and eat. It can get pretty crowded at lunch but they keep the sandwiches moving. Bathroom: I’m not sure they have one… Staff: The cashier was super friendly and welcoming and the sandwich makers were FAST(as usual!). I was in and out very quickly and that is just another reason I love JJ’s. Food/Drink: The sandwiches are delicious. Seriously, they are absolutely the BEST when it comes to franchised delis. Yes, they are THATGOOD! I always, always get The Gargantuan and this time was no different — it was glorious. Value: GREAT bang for your buck here. Wonderful value! I will always come back for more, this place is awesome.

I come here to this Store Often during my lunch break, and sometimes after I get off work. I’m recently returning from vacation so today was my first time at the store in a couple of weeks. I just want to take the time out to acknowledge a certain Employee that works at this store for his excellent customer service I been receiving from him and I’m pretty sure every other customers received as well when they walk in that store. He told me his name awhile back, I recalled it being Chris. Well Chris greeted me with an «Welcome back«today, he usually knows what sandwhich I’m going to order when he be on register and him noticing that i havnt been there in awhile today showed me an example of him«, Knowing & Creating a Relationship with the customers… Keep up the Good work Chris, you and the rest of your team

The number six is my favorite since I’m a non meat eater, I do remember that their tuna was a good sandwich to get before I made the change. I have a late lunch break at five p.m. there’s never anyone in here at this time. Lots of space and tables, not sure how it is earlier in the day.

Decent sandwiches, fast service, good hours. Always so loud inside from the rock music playing overhead, AC is blasting in the summertime.

Not the absolute worst experience ever BUT take this as constructive criticism. I ordered a sandwich today to be delivered to my office, quite near this location. I ordered a Hunter’s Club with onion, sprouts, and mayo packets. The roast beef was inedible due to over cooking and I couldn’t take a bite without chomping down on gristly fat(those pieces should have been thrown out). The sprouts tasted far past their expiration date and were brown and slimy. They forgot the onion, and they forgot the mayo packets. They did however give me about 20 napkins and those aided in the dissemblance of my meal(I picked off the bad meat and rotten sprouts). I put special instructions on my order(I ordered online) I asked the delivery man to please call me when he is downstairs so I could come get my sandwich. The building I work in is very large with strict security. The man who delivered my sandwich did not follow directions, looked extremely sloppy(his entire outfit was filthy), and somehow got into my office on the 31st floor and began asking for me. I work in an office with many other companies so needless to say this was embarrassing. He had to ask a woman standing nearby to borrow her pen because he did not have one for me to sign my credit card receipt. Moral of the story: The guys making sandwiches need to know what bad roast beef looks like and what rotten sprouts look and smell like, they need to learn to read and complete online orders, don’t ask if I have special instructions if you are not going to follow them, bring a pen, and work on your customer service skills. I have worked in the service industry for years and this experience exudes laziness.

Fast, efficient, in-and-out in under 5 minutes. That’s why I like JJ’s and this location is no exception. I always get the same sandwich, #12 Beach Club on wheat. I’ve never had anything else, and this sandwich has been consistent at every location I’ve been too. I think for fast food, they are a good option.

I love sandwiches and I love Jimmy Johns. Truly one of the best franchised sandwich shops, in my opinion. Between the delicious bread and the awesome pickles, this will always be a consistent lunch spot for me. Also my experience with this location has been spot-on despite the fact that I only go during lunch… I always manage to find a table AND they always manage to get my order right. YAY for you, Jimmy Johns.

I was visiting Chicago last week with 3 friends and before checking out Sears Tower(because we’re silly tourists), we stopped for lunch. With no other options open at that moment, and from a few positive recommendations from local friends, we decided to give Jimmy John’s a shot. I have 2 positive things to say; our orders were ready very quickly, and it was food. That’s it for positive things. In general the bread was average and semi-stale, while the entire sandwich itself was poorly put together with incredibly lack-luster ingredients. It was basically a salt sandwich with extra salt. All I have to add is; probably not heading back to Jimmy John’s anytime soon, and it’s not only because I live 1500 miles away

What can I say. I was lazy today and ordered delivery. Thanks from bringing me my Big John lightning fast. Too bad Dominos isn’t this fast. 3 stars is a solid rating. I’ll keep ordering from here.

BUYERBEWARE my CREDITCARDANDPERSONALINFORMATIONWASSTOLEN from here after my last order… store #1037225 N Michigan AVE I have been a huge fan of Jimmy Johns for a long time. Great food and fast, consistent delivery, until I found out that my credit card, and personal information had been stolen after this last order. ALL of my credit card information, name, address ect, were stolen to make a fraudulent XBOX live account, which charged 74.99 to my debit card. The reason that I suspect that is was someone employed at this location, is this account was created and closed the same evening of my Jimmy John’s order. The reason I suspect that it is someone employed at this location, is because it is the only instance that someone would have had access to not only my credit card information, but also my name an address to enable them to make a fraudulent online purchase. My last Jimmy John’s order is the only time in the past few weeks that I have used my debit card, and it seems more of a coincidence that a fraudulent charge would be charged on my debit card shortly after my last order. The reason I know it is a fraudulent charge, is because I do not, nor have I ever owned an XBOX, nor do I have an XBOX live account.

Love the soft white bread. Get the #9 or #12. If you need a bathroom however, there’s a subway sandwich across the street. Tasty enough.

I was downtown today and walking back to the el hoping to find a Pot Belly when I was pleasantly surprised to see this Jimmy Johns. I walked in a 11:40am and it was empty, so I figured I could get a little work done while I ate. Since there was no one there, I got my sandwich before my credit card was even processed and I took my seat to be surprised there is no wifi in the restaurant. Sandwich was good(they piled on the sprouts) and great for a quick eat, but if you are going there for wifi… no dice.

I ordered a turkey sandwich without cheese, and asked for some veggies to be added on. the bread was so smooth it seemed almost fake and they gave me just one slice of meat. they are marketing themselves as making gourmet sandwiches but frankly subway or quizno’s is better.

After calling two other Jimmy Johns in the area, this JJ came through and delivered to our temporary box office tent for Lollapalooza at Congress & Columbus. PROPS!!! And, oh yeah, the food was so tasty, too. :)

Jimmy Johns seems to be quite polarizing; people either love it or hate it. I am in the first group and here’s why: The bread is light and fluffy and delicious. The cold cuts are fresh and tasty. The sandwiches are relatively inexpensive. And most importantly, the dressing. I order the same thing every time I’m here: #5 with no tomato, extra sauce and dijon. The«sauce» is some perfect blend of oil and vinegar and spices that soaks into the bread and makes JJ one of my favorite sandwiches that you can find pretty much anywhere. Finally, a lot of people who have reviewed this location seem displeased with the service time and the accuracy of orders being filled… I tend to go closer to 11am than the noon lunch rush so my experience may not represent the full sample size but I have to say I have never experienced either of these problems here. JJ is great!

My archnemesis. Thy name is Jimmy Johns. Of course we had to have lunch here today, didn’t we. My first encounter was in college and I thought it was OK back then. Overrated and just ok, sometimes pondering while chewing, what is this crap of a sandwich I’m eating, but I’ll eat it anyway cuz I’m drunk. I mean we were college kids, but I knew better. I despise Jimmy Johns. It’s a step above Subway. a baby step that is. I had the Hunter’s Club with some hot peppers. It was as I remembered, an okay sandwich. Now I’m not asking for an orgasm or anything nor am I a food snob but I just don’t go out of my way for this shit. Not even nostalgia. Whateves man, whateves.

Yes, I was right. I waited a while before reviewing this location to see if my experience was typical of my poor luck or par for the course. Unfortunately, it’s par. I rarely get my sandwich done right here. I always order the exact same sandwich: #4 turkey tom with onion, dijon, peppers. I have received that sandwich maybe twice, three times to be generous. I always end up missing at least one of the add-ons, or they put a big handful of cherry pepper stems on the sandwich I have to pick out, resulting in a mess and no pep. Yuck. To their credit, I received an email from the location manager offering a free sandwich if I came back and asked for him. While I appreciate the gesture, I chose to not take him up on his offer. With the only other cheap and quick sandwich option being Subway and their Dehydrate-a-tron 2000 «toaster», I keep coming back for more sandwich roulette, where the house almost always wins. Oddly, they charge extra for cherry peppers at this location but not at any other Jimmy John’s I’ve visited.

I usually don’t review fast food restaurants but a few weeks ago, I paid almost $ 10 for a tuna sandwich, hold the tomatos and they gave me a tuna-less sandwich rife with tomatoes. there wasn’t ANYONE else in the line and I speak rather clearly. Is this a joke? like seriously.

You’re in, you’re out, you’re seven to ten dollars poorer. It’s structured to handle a high volume of people so don’t expect them to take special care if you have very specific needs. The lines move at a decent clip considering the number of people that stop in, so count on no more than a ten minute wait if the line snakes back to the door. The ingredients have been fresh with each of my visits so I consider this a viable South Loop lunch option.
