Only 2 star cos of good staff. Worst beer selection I can imagine from a self-respecting chic bar at Chicago airport. If I ran this I’d be embarrassed to offer a selection of crappy bland lagers or derivatives — even their IPA offering is only 2 super strong options. Given the prices(expensive!), this place should be providing a great selection of quality beer … it’s Chicago for Pete’s sake! I was looking forward to the spot. Now I am disappointed to be stuck here for 2hrs. :-( Poor performance Hub 51 — raise your game and get a decent beer selection in. Crap lager is so 1990! Otherwise fine styling and we will wait to see how the food is. At least they’ve put power sockets at the restaurant table, which shows someone had their heads screwed on. OKAY — UPDATE. Food is not bad quality, but it is seriously expensive for what you get. I’m currently feeing a little ripped off here. It’s not nearly good enough to charge the prices it does… Despite the good staff

First time to Hub 51. Terrific find! Great food, vibe and service. Chicken nachos are a MUST and certainly anything else you order will be delightful. Everything we had was picture perfect! We went on a week night and probably should have made a reservation. They did get us seated in a good time however.

I’m only giving them one star because I have to, they don’t even deserve it, this place is a rip off the food was Oky the server was nice but the manager very rude she took my order asked if I want avocado and I said yes without explaining that’s extra charge this is rip off she did she need to understand that people traveling does it know it’s ad on also she charged me for an egg on my burger that I didn’t order and when I asked her to take it off. She was so rude about the avocado and she just still charged me for it, even tho I didn’t know it’s extra charge BECAREFULANDPAYATTENTIONTOYOUBILL

Stopped here waiting for a flight. The décor and atmosphere suggested mid– to high– quality, so maybe my expectations were too high. I had the Sol burger which came with fresh jalapeños that were too spicy, and I generally enjoy a jalapeño burger. The fries were dry and ordinary. My wife had the broccoli salad and thought it was just OK. We also shared a guacamole platter, but that was bland too. It didn’t seem like there was anything in the avocado but sliced radishes. All in all, we agreed it was nothing special. Service was prompt and friendly, they weren’t too busy at 7:30 pm on a Monday.

The food was ok but the service was awful. It wasn’t even busy when we arrived at about 6 on a Saturday. The server was awkward and just seemed like he didn’t want to be there. I get it. Maybe you don’t. But I’ve worked customer service before and now that sometimes, you just gotta fake it! Anyhow, we had the nachos which were a portion big enough for sharing. Tasty but not the best. Didn’t stay for Sub 51, the club attached, because the server said«it’s fine but you might not get in»

I knew I’d be coming here tonight with some work friends to celebrate the hiring of a new co-worker. As a dedicated Unilocaler I checked out the reviews before the day before and quite frankly some of them kind of scared me. I saw lots of less than stellar reviews. So tonight a couple of us got here before the rest of the group and we ordered drinks. I ordered my standard vodka and lemonade. I have to say it tasted more like vodka and Country Time mix. I was getting a little worried. Finally the rest of our party arrived and we sat down at our table. I did take note that this is a very attractive restaurant. It’s sleek and modern, yet cozy and dimly lit. So as the lone vegan at a table of primarily Paleos, my pals order very meat-centric appetizer, like potato skins with bacon, and large bacony strips with a soft cheese ball to dunk the meat strips in. I didn’t eat them but my table mates seemed to really enjoy them. For some strange coincidence most of our table ordered a variety of tacos. I can only speak for my own veggie taco selection. They were super delicious. The grilled veggies were ever so lightly charred, and there were peppers portobellos and butternut squash. The taco plates were«build your own» and came with with corn tortillas, black beans, salsa, guacamole and white rice. Ok, the white rice was a tad disappointing. No Spanish rice or even brown rice. Whatever. The ingredients, especially the guacamole, were really delicious and I gobbled up every bite. From the looks of it we all enjoyed our meal at Hub 51. I have to say that despite a rocky start, the experience was a pleasant surprise. I also want to add the the service was flawless. It’s a good place to hang out with friends and friends that you happen to work with.

During a layover in Chicago I had about 4 hours to kill so I stopped in here to get a beer and some food. The entire food section of terminal was recently renovated and reopened in April and it really shows. The bar is set up about 100 feet after clearing TSA and has a large bar area and table seating for about another 20. One thing I noticed at the bar is that there are multiple places underneath where you can plug in your mobile devices to charge them. Brilliant. I had a couple of Goose Island 312 drafts and they really hit the spot. I was hungry so I went with the pulled chicken nachos which was an absurdly large portion :). Chicken and toppings were spread through the entire plate instead of just on top and I was unable to finish because it was so large. This would easily feed 2 people.
