The food was just OK. The service on the other hand was terrible. There were 5 people behind the counter, only one was preparing the orders while the rest were just standing there not doing a thing.

This is the worst place to get service, the employee are misbehaving, cursing, talking about sex in the open. The table are messy and need to be wiped out, one female worker has a hog ring through her noise, and talks to you like it’s a bother for her to do her job. Then instead of taken orders out to the customers she start screaming. People order number. Sad, customer service is dead. PS. Please pull up your dam pants, come on we don’t want to see you underwear. Would not recommend this place at all. The bosses need to inspect it.

Sadly in terminal 5 of O’hare there are VERY few choices to grab a bite to eat before security. I was stuck the other night waiting for someone to arrive and found 3 options — McDonald’s, Hudson News, and this place. First of all the variety of sandwiches was mind boggling. They have falafel, turkey, chicken, beef, flatbread pizzas, and even samosas. Everything looked pretty good in the display case. I went for a samosa, which was decent, although at almost $ 5 I would have expected at least two per order. The only downside is service. I ordered and stood there for nearly 10min while everyone behind the register was just hanging out. Finally after another guy who ordered after me, got his sandwich, I decided to ask what’s up. The lady looked at me asked why I didn’t get my food yet. I responded appropriately, but I really wanted to say«Am I supposed to come behind the counter and nuke my own food?» Overall the selection of food is very good and looks very appetizing. Being in an airport you can expect to pay 2−3x what the food should actually be priced. Again, sadly for now this is the BEST option for food/drink/snacks in Terminal 5 before security.

I went to Metropolis Coffee while waiting for a friend to check-in for a plane. Overall, this place is very haphazard and the food was only OK. Really, at check-in in Terminal 5, there aren’t that many food options before security. I normally wait to eat until after I’m through security just to be safe, but I was glad that there was something near the check-in because I was very hungry. Metropolis Coffee has rather large selection of food on offer, some breakfast items as well as vegetable samosas and regular sandwich options. They had a good number of the sandwiches on display, but you can ask for them for a hand-made sandwich if you’re not in a big hurry. I don’t know if it was a big rush, but it took a rather long time for the food. It was about 10 minutes to make a sandwich. And then I also got a chocolate scone, which they forgot to give me because it had been such a long time since I even ordered my food. I also asked for salt for my sandwich, but they did not have any! Then five minutes later someone comes up to me and says that they found salt. Minor condiments like that I would think should be within easy reach. Overall, the service was slow and the food was all right. But there are much better food options past security in terminal five, so I would wait until then.

A very nice little coffee place. The owner is very nice and helpful and the service is great. There is an extremely wide selection of sandwiches that are all very well made and taste excellent. I tried the Chicago Style Beef and it was very delicious. The bread was crunch yet soft and the beef was not chewy. It was well garnished with peppers and had a sauce with it. I definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for a quick, high quality bite.

5 Stars for taking O’Hare coffee to the next level Are you looking for a good cup of coffee in a sea of mermaid infested waters? This is the place to go. The coffee is really well done with a good flavor. If you have the time ride the train to terminal 5 and enjoy a real cup of coffee that us locally roasted in Chicago. Located with The Goddess and Grocer they offer coffee, scones, muffins, and other baked goods along with sandwiches.
