Terrible service, I love sugar factory and I always go to the one in Vegas, being from Chicago i thought I would give it a shot. We get to the place no one seats us or greats us like in Vegas. We wait in our table for about half an hour to get a drink. My friends talk to the manager and all he does is get is water with no type of apology. When our server finally gets there she asked for our IDs. It’s 1 am. The«bouncer» already did that. Do we look 18? Honestly If I did not love the brand since it first came out I would never had gone. Defiantly going to save my sugar crave for Vegas where the staff is not rude. Mind you the place was not busy for a Saturday night.

Honestly, I really don’t understand the massive amount of hype surrounding this place. ‘Ohhhh they have sugary drinks’. Ugh. The drinks are not greatly mixed, overpriced, and honestly just taste like a mouthful of sugar. As for the ‘candy shop’, you have the choices of either overpriced/oversized candy or overpriced ‘fresh’ treats that are truthfully not even that fresh(I’m looking at you rice krispy treats).

Ahhhh it all makes sense now! This restaurants puts ALL of their money into celebrities, mainly Kardashian/Jenner, pockets for promoting this place instead of into the quality of anything. Drinks will most likely give you diabetes immediately and without alcohol you’ll get diabetes within 2 sips. But Ohhh ahhhh they look so cool. The food was bad. Bad, bad, bad. Plain crap. Not a single one of us had more than, I kid you not, two bites from our food and we boxed it up and gave it to homeless people closer to the city. The music is LOUD. A table for 4, we couldn’t even talk to each other. There is a DJ and no dancing. Tv screens everywhere that show Kardashians on loop. I sure hope these girls are getting a cut of all of their restaurants. I will not be back. Ever.

I’ve been here two times already with my girlfriend and a few of our friends and the drinks we have gotten are great! We’ve had a goblet and a few mixed drinks. The drinks tasted great and I personally recommend the Mai Tai Goblet, Great drink variety. Just a heads up, they charge gratuity into the check so make sure to not tip twice!

This place is over hyped in my opinion. I came here based on the fact that all my friends hyped it up posting pics on IG. I made the mistake of going off hype & not checking Unilocal until today. When I saw the 2.5 stars on Unilocal,I knew I should’ve gone ahead & canceled my reservation but since we made plans with friends, I just decided to stick it out. Came here tonight, for starters service was ok. Front desk staff was moderately friendly. Our waiter was nice but he wasn’t efficient; felt like he seldom came by to check on us. A few times we had to track him down to get something. We skipped food because my wife & I wasn’t too hungry so we just got dessert & a goblet. The drink looked cool streaming up with the dry ice & actually didn’t taste bad but I don’t feel like it was $ 33 good. I could’ve easily got something like that somewhere else for less than $ 20. For dessert we got the cookie jar sundae. It was good but not phenomenal. Felt like I could’ve made it at home. Yea I DEFINITELY don’t have to come back here.

If you have kids and a special occasion come here. They will love to order the crazy obnoxious kids cocktails with Loli pops. Food is just ok. Very expensive candy that the kids go crazy for. I would never come here without my kids.

It took 20 minutes for a server to show up after we sat down, then after another 20 the drinks came. We ordered food and 30 minutes later most of it came out. One in our party had to wait until we were done eating before her dish finally arrived. Visiting the restroom, found no toilet paper or soap. To top it off, since we had to wait until after 10pm because of the slow service, I had to remove my hat, because this is one of those classy no-hat establishments after 10pm. Terrible service. Bad times.

Restaurant review I ended up trying this restaurant for my wife’s birthday and was a little bit disappointed. Clearly you can see the Kardashian effect on the restaurant décor. A lot of bling and not a lot of substance. It’s hard to put into words the restaurant decore. It has a modern feel to it but there’s a lot of flashing lights and TV screens. Sort of reminds you of an over-the-top adventure a little bit of too much of everything. It’s true that the desserts drinks look amazing however the food leaves a lot to be desired. We started out with some appetizers which included the fried mac & cheese, chicken tenders, and hot wings. The fried mac & cheese balls were terrible. It lacked any cheesy flavoring and tasted like mac & cheese from a box that was deep-fried. The chicken tenders and hot wings were comparable to Chili’s. For my main course, I ended up getting an oyster sandwich. I have no idea whether the oysters were fresh I was worried that I was in the get sick afterwards which I didn’t however that the last time I ordered this type of addition this restaurant. It came with a side of fries, but nothing spectacular. We did not end up getting any mega drinks which look like windshield wiper fluid in a margarita glass however we did go for the chocolate type drinks that had alcohol in them. These were quite tasty and probably the highlight of my meal. Simply put liquid sugar Pros: Innovative dessert drinks Cons: Bad Decore, expensive, below average food Hidden deals: None

I’d heard about the fantastic drinks at Sugar Factory so I was very excited when my friend decided to have her birthday dinner there. She invited over 15 people and we had an 8:00 reservation. Upon arrival we were told that we couldn’t be seated unless everyone had arrived. So after waiting for a few stragglers and a table to finally open, we didn’t get seated until 9:00. Mike K. was our only server and he did a fantastic job. He was personable and friendly. He managed to take our orders swiftly and with ease. Due to the crowds, the service(kitchen and bar) seemed to be slow. We waited over 30+ minutes for drinks and didn’t get our food until nearly 10:30. I wasn’t impressed with the food on the menu so I opted for the($ 16) chicken caesar salad. It wasn’t the best caesar salad I’ve ever eaten but it was fresh and filling. They served it with tomatoes though. That was odd. The chicken didn’t have much flavor either. It was as if they cooked it and just tossed it on the plate without seasoning. Luckily, the cheese and dressing helped mask the taste. I decided that I didn’t want to pay $ 35 for the massive goblets so I ordered the grape punch. It tasted exactly like grape soda just like the menu stated it would. I enjoyed it very much but the $ 12 price tag kept me from ordering two. The menu is typical American fare on par with your average well known chain establishment.(Chilli’s, Applebees) The selection isn’t that great even though the new menus appear to be slight Cheesecake/Grand Lux copy cats. The food is grossly overpriced for what is being offered. I paid $ 30 for one cocktail and salad. Outrageous! The restaurant’s selling point is the theme. The candy motif has a wonderful nostalgic appeal. I believe that’s why the franchise has been successful. People come for the candy and the great tasting drinks named after their favorite sweet treats. It was fun to walk through the candy store but I didn’t dare buy anything as all that diabetes inducing stuff was overpriced as well. $ 4 for pixie sticks? Really? People were buying it though so I guess that’s why they can get away with charging those prices. The other thing I didn’t care for was the loud music. It’s a restaurant. No one wants to eat dinner at the club. The management really should turn the music down a notch. Finally, the checks were automatically divided up by seat number so everyone could pay separately. That was AWESOME! No counting cash or making partial payments on a handful of credit cards. Sugar gets a star just for that alone. Wish more restaurants would follow suit with that policy. On the way out we took a photo on the«red carpet.» I’m not sure exactly how that fit into the restaurant’s theme but whatever gimmick works, I guess… At any rate, we had fun so that’s the important part. I probably won’t return though. The drinks aren’t enough of an incentive and the food left something to be desired. I’m giving it 3 stars vs 2 for the overall quality of the experience.

We came here on a Sunday night with a party of seven. 4 out of the 3 party members were so late about an hour so. So we lost our reservation. However, as soon as the rest of the party arrived we were able to get a table almost immediately. The goblet was all that and more. The prices were very reasonable. Three of us shared the goblet at 10 a person that seems very fair. Also the food was moderately priced. My hot wings were $ 11.00 so yummy and I had a piece of my friends burger. The beef was a little bland but nothing extraordinary. They were even able to accommodate my sisters vegan needs. The place was filled with teens from the suburbs having a «night out on the town» as I could see from the menu the goblets could be done non alcoholic. All in all it was a good atmosphere, very loud. The décor was nice. The drinks were good. I’d return.

Probably should have read the reviews before making the decision to bring a group of about 15 – 20 people here. A colleague of mine suggested this place solely hoping that it was similar to the Sugar Factory in Vegas, «club scene, big dance floor.» Our experience here was pretty bad to say the least, from the very beginning, we had made reservations 2 weeks in advance and the only time slot that was still available was 11:30PM, which is fine since we knew there were other restaurants/bars around in the meantime… we arrived at 11:15PM, like they had asked us to upon making out reservation, we didn’t actually get seated until 12:30AM(OVER1.5HOURWAIT). Furthermore, we had a few friends fly in from the U.K., which is why we all decided to go out anyway, and the bouncers refused to let them in unless they had a U.S. PASSPORT(YES, a U. S PASSPORT)…they didn’t have a U. S PASSPORT because they were from the U.K. VISITING! After 20 minutes of trying to explain that to three bouncers, we had called a manager, and of course to avoid problems, and to not lose business from a group of 20 people, he let them in. Those goblets with the smokey dry ice are OVERRATEDANDOVERPRICED. They all taste like cough medicine and are incredibly sweet to the point where finishing one is nearly impossible, take my word for it, you can spend $ 49 dollars elsewhere(after 20% group gratuity fee). I’m giving these guys two stars due to our over all experience, I must add, it would be unfair for me to give them one star when the wait staff was actually incredibly fast and persistent throughout the night. Sugar Factory is just another place that got hyped up for its celebrity presence and attracts a certain group of people. Try the Hofbrauhaus instead.

Fun place to go for a cocktail with friends ! But prepared to spend some $$. One of my girlfriends and I meet here for the martinis. They are so delicious. I usually get the s’mores and she gets the cappuccino. This time I tried the bubba bubba. It was rimmed with pop rocks! However it was very sticky. The menu for drinks features no prices. A martini usually goes for 14, a cocktail 12, and their goblet/«fishbowls» are about 32 dollars(24 without alcohol). They contain 6 shots of alcohol. We tried the macaroni and cheese which comes with three deep fried balls of Mac and cheese and tomato bacon jam. It was great! Service has always been good when I go. Make a reservation ahead of time to avoid sitting at the bar or waiting long for a table. The environment is fun and the bar features a candy shop with unique candies ! It’s always fun to see people order the huge desserts with the sparklers or the dry ice fishbowls. This place is for novelty and not for those counting calories! Be prepared to spend some $.

Loved the idea, & joined the hype mostly for their dry ice drinks! The food was okay. I came here for my sister’s 15th birthday with two of her friends, my mom, & boyfriend. We all ordered a lot. I think the best part was the dessert which can feed like 5 – 10 people EASILY. Despite it saying it will feed 2 people. The drinks are so PRICY. $ 25 for no alcohol. $ 35 for alcohol. We ordered two of them, but it was still nice to try it out. Probably wouldn’t really come back, but it was nice to try the hype finally.

My coworkers and I went here after our conference at the Westin Hotel. I’ve been to multiple Sugar Factorys in the US and decided to give Chicago a try. We made a reservation with Open Table and Sugar Factory does call to confirm that your reservation is correct which is nice. You first walk into the candy store where it has their famous lollipops and has multiple candy containers filled with candy. A coworker mentioned that the candy was overpriced, but I thought it was normal considering it’s Rosemont. We were seated right away once we checked in. The dining area is smaller than what I expected. The service was really good with getting our orders correct and checking in frequently. I ordered the Caesar Salad and the Red Bull Goblet. In Miami they had the big fishbowls that could be shared with 2 people, so i wonder if Sugar Factory changed that for all locations. This location had a smaller version that would be best for 1. The drink was pretty strong and wasn’t too sweet. The Caesar salad was okay, but my coworkers ordered the mac n cheese app. That tasted amazing and the burgers looked good. The fries were very tasty and gave a large portion of them. I would only come back here to eat if I had someone from out of town visiting.

We took the kids 15,14,13 for ice cream sundaes and to check out the dry ice cocktails to celebrate their birthdays. It was a lot of fun and the kids had a blast. Our server was helpful and upfront about the drink prices when asked. The prices on the cocktails are outrageous, $ 25 for virgin drinks, but for a celebration it was okay. I would not recommend them for adults because they taste like liquid sugar. The ice cream is another story. It is very good and much more reasonably priced. Our party of five was able to share two with plenty leftover. They were creative and yummy. We didn’t try any other menu items. Maybe next time. It would be a fun place to take out of town friends.

I finally tried this place! I didn’t know what to expect other than the fancy drinks. The food was all american food, nothing special(I was hopping they had authentic food options). The food was good, no complaints there. The drinks were good, I love sweet drinks but I think it was a little too sweet for me. I felt the need to go brush my teeth afterwards so I don’t get cavities(haha jokes aside it was still good!) Don’t bother having a deep conversation cuz it was too loud to even hear yourself. I don’t know, great experience and all but more for small chats and bar drinks. They have a small candy store connected to the restaurant for any candy lovers. oh and before I forget, we made reservation, which we made in time but if you are 15 min late, they will give that table to someone else. so don’t be late!

My boyfriend and I came here for our 21st and decided to sit at the bar. The bartender Laura was absolutely incredible! She was knowledgable on the drinks and was able to answer any questions we had! It was also enjoyable to see her make all of the magical drinks so quickly! We had a lollipop goblet, cotton candy martini, and a couple sour apple shots! As far as food, we ordered wings and burgers and fries and everything was good! Plenty of people complained about the prices, but this isn’t your everyday restaurant with $ 5 drinks. The drinks are totally worth it with their size and how delicious they tasted! I was a little skeptical with all of the bad reviews I had read, but we had an amazing time here and definitely plan on going back to have Laura as our bartender!

My friends and I went there last night. Our server, Kevin was very nice… Greeted us in a timely manner, was gracious and knowledgeable. We asked about the goblet drinks. He knew the ingredients and answered all of our questions. The drinks were fun! The smoke part was entertaining. Food was, eh… Then we got the bill… $ 33 for a goblet? I’m sorry, but that’s something that should either be on the menu so you know what your committing to, OR, the guest should be made aware of the price by the server. The shock we experienced when we got our bill was beyond unpleasant. To the point where we questioned how much we should tip. Being in the industry for over 20+ years, this was disappointing at so many levels. I would never let my guests fly blind like that. We all felt that it was dishonest practice and we won’t be returning.
