I have been coming here for years. This is a classic Chicago restaurant. If you are visiting the city and staying in the loop make this a stop. They are great ribs, steaks, salads, and daily specials all of which are tasty and priced right. The service is also very good and the restaurant can handle large groups. They have a nice bar to if you are in the mood to just have a drink:

Visiting this place is like traveling back in time and I absolutely love it. It’s classy and divey at the same time. Where else can you get spaghetti and meatballs in the Loop at midnight? Really good meatballs, by the way. I’m sad I missed out on the Tom & Jerry cocktail this past holiday season, but I’ll be back for it next year!

Great bar and even better food. Reasonable and fun with very good service. Try the ribs. But it’s a comfortable room you will enjoy being at. They have a great menu and your food gets to you a lot quicker than I expected.

An old school Chicago staple. Comfort food, good staff, good drinks, Sinatra playing in the background. Bring your Mom & Dad.

First time here I ordered the turkey club and a cup of corn chowder soup. I really enjoyed both. I would definitely come back here to try other things on the menu. The waiter was very nice. I would recommend this place to my friends and family.

My friends and I came here after we were visiting the Art Institute of Chicago. The desk clerk at the museum suggested it and boy are we ever glad that she did! When you walk in there is a maitre d ready to seat you. It is warm and inviting with the oak finishing and dim lighting. For the holiday season all of the railings and light fixtures had Christmas greens which was a nice added touch. It reminded us if the famous TV pub, Cheers. A great place to go to watch a football game and grab a bite to eat and have a drink. We ordered the in house made spanakopita for an appetizer. It’s probably the best we ever had! The ratio to philo pastry to spinach and feta was bang on. Usually there is to much pastry but this had tons of spinach and feta. The squeezed lemon wedges finished it off nicely. My friends ordered burgers done medium and I ordered the Alaskan Cod sandwich with fries, homemade tartar sauce and slaw. My dish was so delicious! The fish was battered and fried to perfection and the homemade tartar sauce was delightful. The pickles in the sauce gave it the perfect zing. My only complaint was the slaw was overly dressed and too creamy. My friends really enjoyed their burgers too. Our server was wonderful and very accommodating. She had some great suggestions and was very tentative. She made this dining experience very memorable.

Their Spinach Artichoke Dip is one of the best I have had. The pita chips are the highlight of the dish. The crispy-soft chips with the creamy dip — YumMmMmmmMMmmm!!! Its been a while since I have been here and I will be going again today and looking forward to the spinach and artichoke dip. I agree with some other reviewers here, this place is a little crowded — but that only tells you it is good :) I had ordered a Tiramisu Martini which was delicious. We were a group of 3 girls, went after a busy day of work and this place did not disappoint us. Looking forward to my visit today.

I get throwback décor, but it just fell flat. It kind of felt dingy and dirty. Now for the food: I was craving a burger and I was so disappointed. I had a bacon, cheese and mushroom burger. The meat lacked seasoning and the mushrooms had some sort of strange seasoning on it I had to get them off of the burger immediately. So not good and I couldn’t finish it. My husband had the turkey reuben and said that was one of the best sandwiches that he has ever had. He said he doesn’t like rye, but he loved it on that sandwich. Our server was just there, like blah. Overall, it was a so so experience. If we decide to go back I will try something different.

Fun place to grab lunch or dinner downtown with an old school feel. The sausage & peppers was quite good. The kids had burgers & really liked them. Called earlier in the day & the person who answered, presumably a manager was fairly rude about reservations. I simply asked if I could make one & he went into some diatribe about how I «have to understand sir». Understand what? You haven’t explained anything… Aside from that weird exchange, we got in just fine without reservations & the service & food was good.

Always visit Miller’s in Chicago when I am there. Quality food, quality bar, super crowded(which I hate), and always busy. I ate/drank here twice and had their pastrami on rye, and the leg of lamb sandwich. They are always generous(meaning a lot), with fries and cole slaw(which is awesome). What can I say? It’s a popular watering hole with bartenders(like Michael) who have been there for decades. Many regulars at the bar as well.

Nice little slice of Chicago whole on a business trip. Was crowded with Cubs fans watching the MLB Play offs just up the street. But they found a table for 1. The meal was delicious and worthy the visit. Will return on next trip to Chicago

I only had a beer there. But! There is no happy hour at all. Unilocal says there is, but a waitress says that not. Asked for a half of the chicken wings in between my lunch and dinner time, but it was not possible to get it. So ordered nothing but waitress seemed to be disappointed. And it’s too dark to read there. Beer is good though.

This is a great place for a bite or a drink when you’re in the Loop, and it was perfect for us on a rainy day before we headed to Millennium Park. We got both bites and drinks, and were not at all disappointed in the food. We got a few regional beers, and the Wisconsin Cheese Curds as an appetizer. The cheese curds really hit the spot — little cheesy deep fried bites dipped in ranch were so delicious. Much better than your everyday mozzarella bites! For lunch, I had the chicken pot pie, and my fiancé had the fish and chips. The fries that came with the chips had a nice seasoning, and he said that the fish was nicely breaded and fried. The chicken pot pie had a buttery, flaky crust, good chicken, and was chock full of veggies. It took awhile to cool down, but once it was edible, I demolished it! The service was a bit curt, and unfriendly, which was surprising, since from the reviews we read before heading it, it seemed like a place that valued friends, family, and community. Even so, it was the day after Thanksgiving, they were super packed, and the weather sucked — anyone could have been having a bad day. I would definitely recommend stopping in!

Very casual place, with a much more robust bar menu than I was expecting. I haven’t sampled the food here, but the beer menu is extensive, as is the cocktail menu. The French martinis here are actually halfway decent, which shocked me because quite frankly, I usually cannot get a good martini in a place like this. The ambiance is casual and fun: a bit on the noisy side, but it’s a nice place to meet and talk with people, especially for happy hours right after work. Pricing is pretty reasonable especially considering the location. Finally, I will give Michael the bartender a massive shout-out: Michael, you’re awesome!

Our crew is staying next door at the Hilton Palmer House and Millers is right next door. I stopped by for a light dinner on Sunday as recommended by a local colleague. Don’t let the stark exterior and interior deter you. If you like great service and comfort food come here. I had their famous Greek salad with chicken and it was wonderful. The chicken was marinated perfectly and the salad was huge. There is a full bar with some interesting beer choices as well. After raving about my salad my colleagues wanted to try Millers on Monday. Again great food and service. I had the stuffed pork chop and the meat was so tender I did not need my knife. A colleague had their Lamb stew and she was last seen using a piece of bread to sop up the remains. Even though they were extremely busy service was spot on. Dinner entrees at other tables looked fantastic. I may have to go for the hat trick and go a third time tonight, prime rib maybe???

This pub is more than that — it has a broader menu than most pubs.(But, my 4 star rating is for its pub status and not a fine dining rating.) Miller’s is a great option for reasonably priced(for the Loop) food and drink when you are trying to satisfy the expense account overlords. I’ve had several things on the menu, from steaks to perch and ribs. All were well prepared and tasty. Again, not gourmet — but good. This place often becomes crowded, so it may take a bit of time before your server first gets to you. However, the service has always been great once I was in the rotation. Very convenient to the Palmer House.

Gord and I spent yesterday walking around exploring Chicago. It was really hot outside so afterwards we were looking for someplace with a/c and cold beer. We came across Miller’s Pub. We sat at the bar as did many others. Millers has been around for many years and moved to their current location in the late 1980s. There is a lot of memorabilia on the walls. Michael was our bartender. He has been there for 40+ years! He was fun to talk with. It’s a fun place to check out!

Fairly appealing dark, pubby atmosphere that can’t quite decide what it wants to be. Are we a hunting lodge? A celebrity hotspot? Probably not, given that most of the photos jamming the walls are seriously dated. An Italian hipster joint? Sinatra music? Here? But whatever… Service was not good. Slow to get to our table and when she finally did it was with, «Sorry for the wait. Do you know what you want?» Uh… Three of us knew what we wanted and one asked for a sample of beer. Wait wait wait wait wait wait… no sample. Just delivery of four drinks. «Do you know what you want?» I was interested in the«house specialty» leg of lamb sandwich. Asked for more detail and learned it came with au jus with as much enthusiasm as if she were describing a dead cat on toast. Lamb on a bun with juice. Sounds thrilling. I passed on this specialty and ordered the grilled cheese with tomato soup. It was okay. All was just okay. No refills of water on this near 100 degree day. When delivering something to the table the waitress, who had evidently heard us talking, took the liberty of addressing one of our party by name like they were friends or something. I know it’s a casual culture but you know you’ve gone too far with it when four people snap to attention at such a thing. Final delight was our server sitting down to eat a booth away and shoveling food into her mouth like… I don’t know what. Who does that? Why did we have to see it? In short… the beer is expensive but it might be nice to come here and sit at the bar. That looked nice and it would be hard to ignore you there. Otherwise, I think not.

My fiancé and I coincidentally ended up in Chicago St. Patrick’s Day weekend, after we booked a show at the Chicago Theatre. This made it a little difficult to get into any Irish pub on Saturday, since every place seemed to have a line out the door the entire day. After looking on Unilocal for hours, walking to many places that had an hour wait(and you couldn’t even eat a normal dinner at because they cleared the tables out), and making many phone calls, I finally came across Miller’s Pub. They informed me that we couldn’t make a reservation, however, they didn’t have line out the door and it was feasible to get in and have a sit down meal. After listening to «somebody» whine for days about how they NEEEEEDED a Reuben sandwich, this was wonderful news! We ended up arriving around 8:45pm and only had time to order one drink at the bar(and not finish it) before they were already paging us for our table. At last! He was able to order a Reuben, and I was able to get my sanity back. Apparently this«Irish Pub» is owned by a Greek family, so the menu is very eclectic. I was in the mood for a Greek chicken salad, which just so happened to be on the menu! The service was fast and efficient, given how busy it was. Our meals were both flavorsome and a substantial amount. We had leftovers to take back to our hotel(although we never ended up finishing them).
