I like coming to this place during lunch hours because it’s not as hectic as the other places when going to lunch at 12. It’s your typical Diner menu everything is pretty good I always love to get my fries here cuz they’re always fresh and hot.

5 stars for the two times I visited and had 2 of the best servers. I wish I weren’t terrible with names! Food was generous portions, cooked and presented just how one would expect from a diner. I was staying at the Palmer house Hilton and it was quite early as what toddler ever wakes up after 7am? I sought out a place that would be as kid friendly for my little rambunctious son and I to enjoy a modest breakfast. So I was seated in a perfect spot, enough room in this narrow establishment to sit comfortable enough with a high chair and a kid full of energy! I was relatively alone in this area so I didn’t worry about the noise he’d make. The server who took care of us… what a joy… she was so adorable with her bright eyed smile and pink hair that my son took to her immediately! She had the most lively personality, she took care of my son like a pro! I ordered a meal with a variety of items for us to share as you never know what a picky toddler wants. Their menu prices were very reasonable. She saw that my son reached for my orange garnish and cut up some fruit and gave it to him. As well as a cup with a straw and lid. She sent me off with a coffee to go, and I knew I’d return! The second time was mothers day, my husband had considered the lavish mothers day seafood brunch at the Hilton… but thinking about my son, I had such a lovely experience that I chose B&B again for my breakfast. We were sat in the same booth. The sweet girl in pink hair was off, but we were taken care of by a gentleman with a funny bone, very attentive to my son as well and we never had a complaint or need as he paid attention to detail. He had a brief chat with us about his own kids, had us laughing and it was a very comfortable experience. The food again was on point, everything was great, I would visit this place at least once a month if I lived there!

I was staying at the Palmer House downtown and came outside looking for breakfast and boom. This place was right there my sister in law saw it so we went in to look at the menu. They had a lot of people coming and going which is a good sign to me of a good place to eat. I had an omelette with turkey sausage and hash browns and it was delicious. If u thinking about this place give it a try you won’t be disappointed.

Saw the breakfast reviews and pictures so wanted to stop by while we were in town. Relaxed spot, rather large restaurant with lots of seating with very large menu selection. I thought the food was okay, good for breakfast and priced just right. Food: We went for the Irish Benedict and the Breakfast combo with two pancakes, two eggs, two pieces of bacon and sausage. The Benedict was okay, the eggs were cooked well but we didn’t realize the corned beef was actually corned beef hash. With the combination of the poached egg, corned beef hash, and a cooked tomato slice, the poor english muffin was saturated and didn’t hold up well. Flavors were there but the overall texture needed some chew. The breakfast combo was yummy, the pancakes were cooked well and sausage had a nice crunch to them. Service: The place wasn’t crowded when we arrived so service was fine. Food delivered quickly, coffee refilled often, no issues around the service. Atmosphere: Old fashioned diner style, nothing wrong with that in my opinion. Not hip and trendy but they aren’t pretending to be something they are not. Value; Very good value, probably most affordable breakfast we’ve had all week! Good food, good value for great prices! Overall: Decent place, seems likes a comfortable spot for regulars to return often.

The place is okay at best, but the manager(on.Saturday 3⁄12 around 1pm) is a complete dick. He clearly hates both his customers and employees. I haven’t heard a nice thing out of his mouth and I’ve been here for over an hour. Don’t come here and support this asshole. But I also don’t know who the owner is. Maybe he/she is great, but the manager is awful.

They have a amazing breakfast selection and everything was so good that I ordered! It’s a good local spot and never too crowded. Only complaint was service was a little rude and gave attitudes multiple times. If you don’t enjoy your job then quit and find something you enjoy doing! But the food was too good to not come back.

The staff was pretty speedy and extra friendly, so was the host! I had gone to this restaurant with a guy(devil in flesh form) from a dating site…*don’t judge bish* Once we placed our order, the sistah waitress looked back at me with ‘that look’ and I knew what she was thinking. All I could do was hold my head down and eat my Banana Foster Waffle, which was delicious. I could only enjoy some of the dish because of my pointless«date» Awkwardly giving me the death stare. We reluctantly moved towards the bar down stairs, he was the devil so it felt like I was going to hell. The bartenders were super nice, and I order the Jolly Rancher and later the Pineapple Upsidedown Cake. Both were nice, my cheap ass date order the 312 beer,($ 4).If you’re wondering why I didn’t leave the date, he held my hand tightly, but remember he was the devil. I had fear. LOL Plus, he paid. :) All in all, Beef and Brandy is a great place with good food.

The name caught our attention, so we decided to wander over for breakfast, and we were glad we did. An old school type place, nothing fancy, but clean, quiet and comfortable. A neat place for breakfast. Had the biscuits and gravy… Twice… And the Chilaquiles. What a great flavor. Nice staff, quick service and everyone was friendly.

i love a good skirt steak. I despise sinewy and chewy skirt steak. I had a taste for skirt and sunny side up eggs on Tuesday morning. I spied the menu — and there it was: skirt steak and eggs. The steak was tender and perfectly grilled. The eggs were perfect also, nice and runny. The potatoes were how I liked… those little shreds of taters some crispy some not. Great to soak the egg yolks up! This is how I remember a good breakfast. Ive been eating this for breakfast since the 1960’s and this place is classic. I took carry out — but the restaurant is clean and modern(Greek style). I’ll have to try some other breakfast items in the new year and visit the downstairs bar. After work OFCOURSE!!!

I was out with my wife and sister in law’s family on Christmas eve in the city and came across this place to eat. We were seated right away and treated nice. I ordered the patty melt cooked medium which was great. The menu has a lot of choices yet simple selections. It wasn’t too busy when we went which I didn’t mind. Inside kind of looks like a mid 90’s diner but it was nice and quiet. I didn’t get to see the bar area but from what I read it seems fun. Prices are decent as well.

There aren’t too many purposefully old-school diners(founded 1967) left around in the city core setting, particularly in the loop, where everything is being made over a shiny, loud, and chef-driven. As another person says, the décor is like a time capsule from the past, tinselly old-school Christmas decorations, old booths tightly packed in fluorescent glory, pictures of old school movie stars. Despite the old style it is clean and comfortable. The service is quick and efficient, it isn’t too crowded. Best of all this is overall pretty cheap compared to other surrounding options. I can see how people could pass by here going to the flashy new stores up the street, but we have to keep visiting here to keep this old classic alive!

I like this place, low key, good food, decent prices and a diner feel. We were staying at the Palmer House Hilton and this place is right out the door(on the State St side) practically. After a long day of travel and delays we just wanted a quick bite, nothing fancy. This fit the bill. The have a full bar and a wide variety on the menu. I went with the fried chicken and found it to be very crispy and juicy. The hubby liked his steak too! I like it and would go back.

We came in here at 8pm on a Saturday night and were literally the only ones in here. Seemed a bit odd(another group came in about 30 minutes later). I thought the server was a little weird and didn’t know the answer to any of our questions. I later heard her tell the other group that she was new. I’d hope she’d have better training before being on her own! Anyway, all that being said, we thought all the food was excellent. Very tasty and everything was cooked perfectly. Reasonably priced, too

We were looking for a new local place to eat during our visit to downtown on November 15th. Beef and Brandy caught our eye with their specials on the outside so we decided to give it a try. We were pleasantly surprised when inside was very spacious and well decorated. It was right around 1pm but it was pretty empty so we were seated quickly. The staff was very friendly and attentive. For our meals we ordered a chicken wrap and fettuccine alfredo. The bread they brought out first was very delicious. Their new mac n cheese bites that are advertised outside were okay but very bland. I always love to try a new restaurant’s chicken alfredo and I must say this one was very under par. The chicken was cold and the pasta was really tough and chewy and very unflavored. I could only take a few bites before I stopped eating. Other people may have had better experiences but there are plenty of better choices in the area so we won’t have to gamble again.

My husband and I stayed around the corner at the Palmer House. On our last morning in Chicago we happened to find this little gem. I was a bit skeptical when we walked in but there was something charming about the place. The breakfast menu is huge! Something for everyone for sure. My husband had the Chicago skillet and I had the corned need hash and eggs. My portion was very generous and the hash was very tasty. Even the eye toast was good. We were seated immediately but as we left there was a short line. If you’re looking for a great breakfast in the Loop go here!

Brilliant service, atmosphere, and pub grub. Me and some mates stopped by after work for a few cold ones and decided to eat here as well. The server and manager were wonderfully attentive and offered to move us to a larger better located table. Nice relaxed feeling of the place, though the music was good, it was a bit loud for casual conversation. Ordered the nachos(bell grande?) and it was a heaping pile of goods! Scarfed that down in short order and was almost too full to attack my double cheeseburger(man burger, IIRC). Not bad at all! Nice fresh crispy fries as well. Good beer on tap. Quite affordable for the loop. Call me a fan.
