One of my favorite places in Chicago! Must try their basil burrito! Hope they still remain open.

Pretty good stuff, different. I don’t normally write reviews this one is honestly a shout out to see if anyone knows whether or not this place has shut down. I think it’s been closed for about a week and they took down the newspaper clippings in the window. If it is, I’m sad to see it go.

Pros: Delicious. Great options. Delicious. Cons: I’ve tried to eat their food twice. The first time was delivery. I wrote special instructions«No cheese. No sour cream». They missed this and I was unable to eat my burrito. This second time I went to the restaurant in person. When ordering I asked for no sour cream and no cheese. My burrito came with both cheese and sour cream inside. I took several bites before realizing. I asked them to re-make it and it took a long time. I would totally try again. The burrito I finally got to eat was great. I just wish they would pay more attention to special requests.

This was seriously so delicious. I didn’t know what to expect with the name but dear god I was satisfied. I ordered the green curry burrito, the service is great but the food is still the best part. It’s filling and pretty healthy from what I understand. Definitely recommend for a late lunch late /early dinner.

Places like these are the reason I love living in Chicago. This place is unreal!!! Don’t be a skeptic, try out their burritos. They’re all pretty good, the garlic chicken is a safe option if you’re nervous to mix a burrito and Thai food.

You have to have an open mind when it comes to fusion food. My friend purchased a Groupon and we went last Friday night. Parking is extremely difficult, especially in this snowy mess and the side streets are zoned. There were only one other patron when we’d arrived, dun dun dun… We walked up to the counter to place our order, this is not an establishment you go to for warm, fuzzy customer service btw. We took a seat and while we were waiting, I noticed two empty tables with dirty dishes on them– which I find astonishing considering it’s not busy. It took a bit longer than I’d expected for my Panang Curry & my friend’s pad thai burrito to arrive(say ~15 mins), but that’s probably due to all the delivery orders they were dishing out. My dish was pretty good, Panang curry is on the sweeter side compared to Indian/Thai curry, which is spicier. I only managed to eat half of it, so took the remainder home and it doesn’t sit well overnight. I highly recommend eating it in one sitting. I thought pad thai in a burrito was an odd combo, but again, I was pleasantly surprised by the crisp shell. By the time we received our check, only one of the two dirty tables had been cleaned off. Being from the service industry, this really bugged me. I would give this place another try but order a burrito, they had a sign in their window«Free Egg Drop Soup with entrée purchase,» but we did not get it this time. We will surely ask for it next time!

Yay, I’m a fan! Not only is this one of the more innovative fusion creations I’ve tried, but it is extremely tasty as well. I will go out of my to return again! We ordered a Panang Curry burrito and boy was it good. The ratio of curry to rice is perfect. The lettuce provided an excellent crunch will providing extra freshness. We ordered the burrito with chicken and it was very tender and juicy, I think it would be even more excellent with shrimp. The tortilla was toasted on the outside nicely. We also ordered the pad see Lew with tofu(my favorite thai dish). The sauce was spot on and very flavorful. I like that they coat the noodles well with the sauce. They also sliced the tofu in long thin strips(instead of large square chunks). This made it so that the tofu had a lot of crispy texture from stir frying and the sauce to tofu ratio was optimal.

It was the fantasy football playoffs and I wasn’t about to leave my warm pad to pick up some food so the fiancé and I decided to get delivery. Been dying to try this place for a while so we both went with burritos. We got the yellow curry with chicken and basil with shrimp to be exact. Wasn’t sure what to expect as the reviews on here were mixed but both were surprisingly delicious. The combination of favors was spot on. My favorite was the yellow curry. My only complaint is that the delivery took just over an hour. Maybe that is because I ordered online so I will definitely call in my order next time.

Brought a groupon and a friend. The register is apparently only for takeout. You are seated and waited on otherwise. Tried the crab rangoon app– we were two– why do they always come in 5(or 3)?! We asked for 6. Our wish was granted. Thank you. Large and delicious. Could use more dipping sauce, we thought, but then we didn’t need it. We each ordered the thai burritos, because we were in «thai burrito.» I tried the basil beef, she tried the garlic beef. We both loved our burritos. Filling and flavorful without feeling fattening. Restaurant is plain, but clean. Love the string curtain dividers. Price is right, though it seems like they just raised the burrito price by $ 2(it looks like a 6 was changed to an 8 on the dine in menus). I wish I lived closer. I would get their takeout once a week and try all the different burrito varieties.

Before the continents drifted apart, there was one amazing food … full of phenomenal flavors and textures … affordable, and quickly delivered to your. The plates flowed and took with them parts of this delicious cuisine, which became the Thai and Mexican we know and love today. These northside flavor masters have managed to bring them back together again as God originally intended: Chicken Panang Nachos, Beef Curry Tacos, and Pad Thai Burritos. Your wallet will release a sigh of relief as your tongue trips over itself to thank you for ordering Thai Burrito. Yeah, it really is that good. (Tip: order by phone, not through a third party website. Why? They’re super nice and will often throw in an extra appetizer if you aren’t a giant jerk.)

30 – 40 orders or visits from Thai Burrito over the last 2 years I’d guess. Really, really phenomenal food. Always done right, potent with individual flavors on both the Mexican and Thai side. STRONGLY suggest ordering 2 entrées/burritos of different flavors. You’ll be glad you did, especially since it’s just as good if not better tomorrow or the next day. It’s a great people watching lunch spot during the day too.

Disclaimer: I’m Thai, and I love Mexican food. I ordered one green curry burrito and one order of hot and sour tacos. The green curry burrito($ 8.98) was very good. I’d say this green curry is as authentic as you can get. The burrito is great but there’s still some room for improvement. In my opinion, the green curry is watered down by lettuce so they might try mixing lettuce with green curry before putting them in the burrito. Or try changing the ratio between lettuce and green curry and rice in the burrito. My second dish was the hot and sour beef tacos($ 8.98). Overall I’d say they’re good, but I like the burrito more. I think say hot and sour beef is not Thai food. I’d say they are Americanized Chinese. But anyway they are pretty good. The hot and sour sauce is tasty. The beef is just about right. The tortillas is very good. There’s one nit that I have with this dish is that they gave me lemons instead of limes. The service was prompted and good enough as I’d expect from a $ restaurant. Those who expected a matching plate or better napkin should go elsewhere.

It’s not just a fusion of Mexican and Thai going on here, it’s also a fusion of a good restaurant and bad. I ordered a burrito and tacos. The tacos were fantastic, the burrito… Not so much. The presentation was excellent for a place like this which I would expect of a higher class restaurant, however it was fused with things you expect of a failing restaurant. The menus where confusing with far too many items to pick from, the cashier doesn’t seem to know what she’s doing, there are pictures of the food taped to the windows… Definitely not a sign of class. Even the plates weren’t matching and the napkins were very low quality– think those ones you get in bulk at a fair that do absolutely nothing and you need to use 10 of them. I’m not nitpicking, it goes to the ambience of a restaurant that doesn’t have it all together. On top of all that, the food took a long time, despite being only 3 tables occupied. There seems to be one person who designed the restaurant to be a success, but has since then has been run by someone who doesn’t know how to. Byob is a nice plus, but I don’t see too much of a reason to return. Need to update this: As we were leaving, I stopped in the bathroom and noticed that the whole restaurant was a bit of a mess, including the restroom. Then walking out the door, another person was walking back to the bathroom. The front cashier, who I assumed was timid, went full on bouncer as she asked the man loudly«are you using the restroom, well you need to order something first!». Who does that? Maybe instead of worrying about who uses your bathroom you should worry about the place being a mess, or the food coming out in a reasonable time… I won’t be back there.

I was really hoping this would be good after reading some of the great reviews but this was just awful! I don’t know if it’s because I ordered the wrong items or if I shouldn’t have gotten it delivered but there is definitely better Thai food/Asian fusion out there, people. I ordered the Basil Style Tacos w/beef and the Chicken Pad Thai, along with a coconut smoothie. The tacos had absolutely no inkling of Thai flavoring/infusion or anything. They were just basic beef tacos with some mayo over the top. The pad thai was just AWFUL. There was no flavoring/seasoning, totally not indicative of Thai food. It was not good. As for the smoothie, it was only mediocre — probably just some coconut milk mixed with ice. And to top it all off, it took about an hour over the estimated delivery time for the food to get to me. So, a total of 2 hours from the time I actually ordered the food. I ate 1 of 3 tacos and a couple bites of the Pad Thai, the rest is going in the garbage. I’m not at all convinced that this place has anything going for it. If you’re looking for great tasting Asian Fusion, go to Del Seoul.

I’ve finally tried a thai burrito. Yes. Be adventurous. Try it. Dooooo it. I had the basil one? It’s flippin’ huge and had enough veggie content that I didn’t have that wallowing in my own shame moment that I normally have after indulging in a burrito. I was concerned with how they’d pull this mash-up off, but I’m a fan.

I don’t really enjoy most fusion restaurants because they are always lacking in something, but when I heard that Thai Burrito existed, it kind of caught my attention. A fusion between Thai and Mexican food… a really intriguing concept! So one afternoon, I decided to order delivery for lunch. I decided to try out the basil chicken burrito(lettuce, tomatoes, beans, sour cream, cheese, and rice) lunch special. The special came with a salad and your choice of vegetable mini spring rolls or steamed chicken potstickers; which I chose the potstickers. I never received the salad with the delivery, but I didn’t really care for it so it wasn’t a big deal. For the potstickers, it was nothing special. It tasted just like steamed dumplings from a package, something I could easily make from home. But the star of my meal was the burrito. For the price of the lunch special, the burrito was huge. Such a steal for $ 7.95! But the best part was that it was good and flavorful. Somehow the Thai flavors of the basil chicken worked really well with the Mexican flavors of the burrito. Overall, I enjoyed the main entrée but I didn’t appreciate that they left out my salad and the potstickers were bland, but I definitely will come back to try out their other dishes if I’m in the area. So if you like unique flavors, you’ll have to give this place a try at least once.

This place is the food equivalent of a celebrity marriage. Looks and sounds great on paper, but we all know it’s probably not going to work out. I’m really pulling for them though cause I dig the inventiveness and the flavors they do by themselves are actually pretty tasty. There’s just some ingredients that don’t go well together. No matter how you slice it.(i.e. re-fried beans and green curry) The food is good, but burrito-wise I’d look to special order and omit ingredients that don’t sound like they were destined to be great together. Other than that it’s super cheap, filling, and something out of the ordinary.
