Lunch was $ 100 for 4 people without alcohol(plus another $ 20 for a tip). Was it $ 100 good? Not really. It was ok and definitely not a good value. Also the service was mediocre. All the tables were business lunches so our server didn’t need to work very hard for decent tips. I may come back for the happy hour special. Free pizza sounds like a better value than $ 25 average pasta for lunch!

Lovely interior, friendly hostess and convenient if staying in the JW Marriott or W. Unfortunately not much excellence beyond that. Pricey for not great food. Filet Mignon($ 38) was not a great cut of meat, had fat on it, and was bland. Menu at street level says brussels sprouts are available, but that menu is not current. Asparagus($ 9) also bland. Filet was served over a creamy kale that also had no taste. Sat at the bar on a slow Sunday night and service was indifferent. For example no salt and pepper until I asked then it was delivered with bartender’s hand gripping the business end of the salt shaker. Can’t recommend based on this experience.

First off-I’m rating it 4.75 stars(since I cant actually select it on Unilocal). Great hidden gem in the loop! Service was great and the sommelier(wish I could remember her name) is top notch and knows her stuff. I had asked if they had a somewhat obscure digestif called Strega. She overheard me asking the bartender who wasn’t sure and she left me know that they did in fact carry it. This is the first place in Chicago that actually serves it(after being to so many Italian restaurants here that claim to have wide select of Italian wine and liqueurs). The pizza Margherita was outstanding and honestly the best pizza I’ve had in Chicago. I noticed the quality of the sauce and cheese immediately; the crust was almost perfect(felt it could have used another 3−5mins in the oven). Keep up the good work!

Seriously, if you can’t make a decent BLT for $ 18 I cant imagine anything else would be very good here! Stopped in for a casual Saturday lunch with friends. Despite being the only people at the bar(6 of us), took forever to get the drinks. Had to ask for water three times, and — since the bartender was absent — had to grab napkins from a nearby table. The sandwiches where enoromous hunks of bread with stingy amounts of cheese & meat. I attempted in vain to reassemble the sandwich with just half the bread. Chef might take some lessons from nearby greasy spoon diner!

There is nothing average about the Florentine. It is inside the stellar J.W. Marriott, which is the most amazing property with impeccable service, and the Florentine’s accompaniment does not disappoint. While Chicago has a very lively dining culture, if you are stuck in the hotel on a rainy day or for business, you still have opportunity for a great meal. I would go to the Florentine even if I were a Chicagoan or staying at another property. I have eaten here 4+ times and the service and food is always outstanding. The wine list is very good, regardless of your price point. Every dish I have had was great; I recommend the Cavatelli — outstanding. The Linguine was also very good. Members of my group also had the risotto and filet which looked and were said to be very good. We also had breakfast here one morning and it was delicious.

Having a good breakfast to start your morning is important. Having a great breakfast and you are guaranteed to have a spectacular day. The Florentine did not disappoint. When I woke up to rainy and gloomy weather I knew I didn’t want to walk too much for food first thing in the morning. Luckily The Florentine was located directly across the street from where I was staying. You have to take the elevator to the 2nd floor to get to the restaurant and upon entering we were greeted with smiles and an excellent wait staff. The décor is very warm fitting filled with shelves of books all around. What I liked best was its ability to transition for all hours of the day. I came for breakfast but you can tell this place has good anything at all hours of the day. I’m a pancake lover only when I vacation I have to add so I tried the buttermilk pancakes with my pumpkin squash spread, pecans, raisins, and syrup on the side. The waiter asked if I wanted it on the side which I was pleased with because most other places will drown all the ads ons to the pancakes and then you have yourself a soggy mess. My meal was delicious and I wish I could have finished the entire dish but I was too stuffed. Maybe that was due to my side of pork sausage I decided to eat as well. ;) Thank you to The Florentine for giving me a great breakfast meal that started off my 2nd day in Chicago with a WOW factor.

Chef Zachary Walrath is hands down my favorite cook in Chicago! They have the most brilliant Sommelier Alexandria Sarovich and a smokin hot manager named Sarah Landry mmm hmmm. Ask for Jamie Lee if you want a laugh!

This is my absolutely favorite business lunch spot. It is so trendy and the service is great. I feel like I’m such an important person here when I walk in. I’ve been here 3 times and I love taking my clients here. The gnocchi is to die for, however they do change it around the seasons. I tried the margarita pizza for the first this week and it tasted so fresh and delightful. I hear the happy hour here is awesome, can’t wait to check it out. I mean who doesn’t love free pizza with your cocktails!

I have been to this place a number of times, for business lunches, easy dinners with friends and colleagues who work in the Loop, and drinks at the bar, and sometimes even meals from the bar food menu, so I know what I speak of ;) The Florentine has a great bar, a square in the middle of the restaurant, service is friendly, attentive, and prompt. The food is scrumptious, even the bar food is really good, they run a HH pizza special. It is conveniently located on the second floor of the JW Marriott hotel, on Adams between LaSalle and Wells, across the street from the W City Center.

This was a wonderful place to have a fun cocktail and get some free pizza! Yes you heard right! Free pizza with each round of drinks between 4−6pm! I had the Smokey Mt. Rye and my other half had a drink with cherries. Well mine was a huge hit! Will for sure go again!

Stopped in with a friend from a long day of traveling and working. Now craving a nice bowl of good soup, sounds easy but not so easy to locate especially when you craving it. They had amazing minestrone soup so perfect right amount of garlic, not too many beans was perfect. Then had spaghetti OMG was tasty just what I needed nothing fancy just done great tasting traditional spaghetti with garlic, plum tomatoes and basil. What else do you need? Of course washed all the heavenly flavors down with a very nice lite glass of Pinot Grigio

Their NY Strip Steak meal and calamari appetizer is off the chain! Tea is pretty good. 4 stars because of price but other than that you should try it out if you’re in the area

Great food, great service! Pretty pricey. The menu as a good variety. I would recommend the peppers stuffed with sausage for an appetizer, it was amazing!

My apologies for taking this long to write a review for here, I thought I had a long time ago but apparently I must have been drunk XD but I’m a regular here, I’ve been here probably close to 70 times since i started going in may 2013, it’s right down the street from my work and near both train stations so it’s an ideal location. They have a solid beer selection, all the staple craft beers, and a big list of martinis, ive had almost all of them and i like them all, smokey mt rye is my favorite, it comes with a lit sprig! As for food, ive had all of their pizzas, they’re all really good, idk if i could pick a favorite, they have toppings ranging from spinach to sausage, pepperoni, prosciutto, potato, rib, squash, egg, speck, and they’re not too filling woodfire style pizzas. Other food-the bread is really good, and i got the crepes once and they were excellent. Also the coffee was good too The staff is very friendly, I’ve gotten to know many staff members from bar tenders to managers to servers, all are very nice and i enjoy talking with them. They also sometimes host special events, like a Jack Daniels event that was really cool featuring amazing food and JD cocktail pairings I can safely say it;s my go to place in the loop and i will plan on coming here for as long as I can!

Service is really 5 stars The menu is very good and tasty but very dainty. The portion sizes are very european, so if you want to lose weight in both your wallet and waist this is the place for you. The food was very good but after I got my bill I was pretty surprised(we had one glass of wine) and it was mucho gusto. The mussels were very tasty. The fish dish was very good but the portion size was minuscule. anyways, I love the pizza here so we have figured out that is the best value on the menu.

The Florentine is a nice business option in the Loop. The décor is very nice and warm. The tables are nicely spaced so you are not on top of one another. You even have some privacy to your table and can talk without shouting. Service was good without being overbearing. They are surprisingly laid back for a Loop place and it could be hard to get out in an hour. The food was okay. I liked our starters the best. The prawns with speck were very tasty. The buffalo mozzarella(like a caprese) was very fresh and light. For the entrée, I had the rabbit ragu pasta.(I was going to order the half portion but was informed that is really a tasting portion. The regular order was nicely sized.) The presentation was very nice. The ragu was solid but thought it could use a little more seasoning. My dining companions seemed to like their orders as well. The Florentine is one of the better Loop options.

This place is great for lunch or happy hour. Me and my friend normally come here when were looking to be bad and order the chicken panini sandwich with the ridiculously good fries! OMG the fries here are so good and they come with aioli sauce. To be located inside a hotel the prices are pretty reasonable. I’ve also tried there pizzas and they were pretty good. Not sure if there still offering the same happy hour, but it was from 4 to 6 and you get a free pizza with your drink order. Nice! The atmosphere is lively, but not too loud were you can’t hear each other’s conversations. The service has always been great and timely. Nice place to go in the loop with co workers or friends.
