I have always appreciated the service I get from Advanced Electric and Sound. I have used them for electrical work, and an alarm system. They put in a beautiful entertainment system that we use every day. They are very professional and always provide top-​notch service. I wouldn’t hesitate calling them for any of my electrical and sound needs and would highly recommend them as the best shop in Chico.

Couldn’t be happier with the service from Advanced Electric & Sound. We have been a customer for many years, we have an alarm system that was installed efficiently and they took great care in making sure we understood how it worked. The office staff, the technicians and the owner are all very courteous and helpful. They have done other work for us when we remodeled our home including a surround sound system in the living room and the networking for our home office. All very well done, very neat and very helpful. We recommend them every chance we get.

We had an existing alarm thru another company. The monthly charge was $ 49.00 and had been for about 6 years. We were locked in with 3 year contract and when it came due to renew they were going to increase the monthly charge. I began to look around for a better rate. I found Advanced Electric and Sound and made an appointment for a consultation. Finally a company that was professional. Wayne reviewed our system and showed us where the weak link was that continued to send out false alarms (not a good thing in the middle of the night!) He recommended we have parts of the system updated. The estimate was very reasonable and the work was done timely and with NO mess! (Thank you Larry!) The cost is based on a quarterly payment and is less than half of the monthly payment we had been paying. Huge discount and better equipment and service!

We had an intricate security system installed in our home by Advanced a few years ago. The owner, Wayne, designed our system which involved 3 structures. His technicians were informed, courteous and left our property clean of their debris.
Wayne was the epitome of patience in helping by husband and I learn the «alarm/​disarm» codes. As «senior citizens» my husband and I took more than the ordinary amount of time. Now it’s old hat and we mastered it in no time. On one or two occasions we’ve had to call Advanced over an error code (which was simply putting in new batteries). Their response time was timely. We’ve had no complaints on the call center which Advanced uses.

Wayne and Larry came to my new house which had an existing alarm system, but it wasn’t set up the way I wanted it. So, they gave me some great advice on how to modify the system to suit my requirements. Much to my surprise, everything was done the first day. I had figured the first day was just a sales call, but instead their ace tech Larry started working right away to add some new zones as I had requested. Then Wayne gave me a great walk-​thru on how everything works.
A couple of days later, I had some questions about how something was working, and they had a guy out that afternoon to fine tune the programming of the system. I could not be more impressed with the speedy service and the expertise of all 3 of the people I dealt with from Advanced Electric and Sound. I would definitely recommend calling these guys for security systems because they only charge $ 20 /​month for monitoring, and I thought the going rate was $ 30 or $ 40/​month. So, with the discount I get on my homeowner’s insurance, it barely costs me anything to have a monitored security and fire system.

Advanced Electric wired our building, Skyway Tool Center, in 2005 and have been the company we use to add on, change up or otherwise work on our electric and communications issues. We were very happy with the job they did on our 6500 sq ft commercial building. They designed the electrical, telephone and internet networking in such a way that we have felt we are in a state-​of-​the-​art work environment since moving in to this location. They carefully planned the layout to make it as convenient as possible for our staff. We have had no problems with our electric, telephone or internet since being here. Once we moved in to the building, Advanced Electric have always been very easy to get in touch with, getting back to us quickly even if we leave a message on their answering machine. If you want an electric company that is completely computer literate, able to design and install electrical systems, work with you for optimal internet and telephone, able to design and install your communications system, security and fire alarm systems, understands how to design and install home and office television, hi def, sound and everything that goes along with modern electrical, call them.

Based on my experience with them, I don’t recommend. In fact, I pretty much tell everyone to use someone else. After selling us a $ 20k system, they failed to service it and we had to call in someone else to fix it. A year after they installed the system, we started having problems. I called to have them look at it and they didn’t call me back for 4 weeks! When I called repeatedly, the gal told me «oh, they have been busy with the Home and Garden Show». Excuse me? I have no tv for a month and you’re busy with the H&G show? When I talked to the owner, he was defensive and not apologetic. In fact he said it would be a couple more weeks before someone could come out. I ended up paying someone else to fix it and when we built our new house we bought all new equipment from someone else as well.
