My business has used Succeed.net’s services for several years. Their quality of service and attention to detail and customer service has always been top notch.

The company I work for has been a paying customer for a number of years. Last month, Succeed told said company that they oversold the bandwidth and then cut us off without any notice for us to arrange new service. If you live or have business in the country, you know how hard it can be to obtain service. This was terribly unprofessional and we will not recommend them to anyone. The service itself was intermittent and riddled with problems.

They oversold their bandwidth on wireless DSL. There’s horrible connection quality(latency, packet loss, lowered bandwidth) on weekends or holidays. Oblivious tech support and unhelpful, rude managers. If it’s not a simple ‘restart your modem/router,’ you can’t be helped. Unless you’re just checking email or surfing the web, this is not the service for you; bandwidth is limited to 3GB per day, or 50GB per month. For wireless DSL: ~0.5−2% constant packet loss, highly unstable latency(spikes in excess of 1000ms), far lower than promised bandwidth(.2 Mbps at times) and a highly congested network on weekends and holidays, resulting in even worse latency and up to 20% constant packet loss. If you play video games, stream movies or do anything that requires full use of your bandwidth, this will be a game breaker at times.

Works exactly as advertised. I am a rural user with few options. I was using a dsl hook up and speeds varied and rarely above 1meg. I switched to Succeed and pay for 3 meg service and everytime I have checked, it is right there. I may up the speed to stream netflicks. 3 meg works well for web surfing and email. It would not be my first choice if comcast was available, but is very satisfactory.

Our family uses Succeed Net as our ISP and we could not be more disappointed with their service. As a client paying for a service, we expect professional communication from our vendors, but sadly we did not receive that from Succeed Net. Having caught their tech support in a blatant lie this morning, we will be shopping elsewhere for service. While Succeed Net was cheaper than it’s competitors, they were most definitely not worth the savings.

@Steve: Don’t know about South Lake Tahoe, but here in Northern Yuba County, delivers excellent service after a rocky start. Here’s the scoop: acquired the locally owned about a year ago. In the beginning, Robert Lavelock and crew fought an uphill battle against somewhat archaic equipment, innovative, if non-standard installation of transmitters, and an FCC limitation to operate within the 2.4 ghz frequency. Service was dodgy with many outtages and periods of sub-paar speeds, so not only did Mr. Lavelock and the support technicians have to battle the technical difficulties of revamping a network engineered by someone else, but they also had to field a constant deluge from disgruntled users. Among those users, I had to be one of the top ten, providing polite, if firm, indications of my discontent on a basis that the techies at simply had to view as far too consistent. That said, the service since a recent upgrade here to the 5 ghz frequency has been smooth, uninterrupted, and at speeds that consistently clock in at within 5% of the advertised maximum for the account level to which I subscribe. The shakiness of Succeed.net’s start was largely attributable to their having to make multiple changes to the network, from rerouting the backhaul to replacing receivers, and, most recently, replacing one of the main transmitters for this area with a 5 ghz model after receiving FCC approval for that installation. Despite we disgruntled users, and the multiple technical challenges they faced, to their credit persisted, doggedly pursuing an elusive high level of reliability and service. And I’m happy to report that they succeeded, apropos to their moniker. At this point, – at least in North Yuba County– is delivering better than could reasonably be expected service at a very consistent level. Occasionally I send a speed report to the techies, Dave and Todd, just so they won’t miss my communications too much. They’ve done a great job out here in the Foothills. With the kind of dedication they’ve exhibited to establishing excellence of service, if you are in the process of selecting an ISP, they deserve your serious consideration. @Robert Lavelock and crew: Thanks! Great work!
