My husband and I were SO very pleased with Avalon! Such great prices, great quality and great people to be around! Steve did our engagement pictures in upper bidwell park and they turned out amazing, we were so excited to get them back. Then when it came to Wedding time, he truly captured every amazing moment. I warned him we had a very upbeat wedding party and family and he most certainly captured that all! I would go to Avalon a million times over again!

I called Steve to take pictures of my family and was so impressed. He invited us to his home and in his back yard stands a full sized studio where you can sit and take pictures with all the normal backgrounds and furniture options but what I really loved was that his outside backyard was amazing. We had our kids pose with his huge tree swing and it turned out great, then we went over to his garden and with my wife and I on the grass the kids climbed on top to make a human pyramid. To this day its still my favorite picture to look at. I would encourage anyone to try Avalon and Steve. He does weddings, baby pics, family pics and from what I saw in his studio they turn out just as amazing. Call him you won’t be let down.

I have to start by saying that I have no personal affiliation with Avalon Portraits other than finding them online after doing extensive research all across Northern California then booking them for my wedding just last month. So, I’m not doing any personal favors by writing them a positive review.
That said, Steve Twist (Avalon owner) is truly amazing! If you want photos that could easily be commissioned and/​or published by any top magazine in the world, book with Avalon! People saw my wedding photos and actually asked me if the photos were being sold to Brides Magazine! Steve’s style is elegant and effortlessly commercial without seeming trendy our lacking timeless flavor. I work in the industry as a designer and have worked written talent in SF and Los Angeles, and Steve Twist (and team) are the cream-​of-​the-​crop when it comes to professionalism, and humble, yet confident and easy-​going attitudes. Steve and his partner that day set a lighthearted mood that made us all comfortable and calm.
Book with Avalon and you’ll work with very communicative, receptive and intuitive photographers that will not disappoint! Plus, after doing my research in the greater San Francisco and Sacramento area, I found Avalon Portraits to be very reasonably price. When compared to other photographers that I didn’t find to have as impressive a portfolio, Avalon was often the lesser expensive! They could be charging more, but Steve’s a reasonable guy, and that’s really hard to come by in this industry of over-​inflated egos.
